IH 1066 DT414 Engine Head Gasket Leaks

This IH 1066, with a DT 414 engine had a slight head gasket leak. Several procedures and a new head gasket later, the leak was nowhere to be found.
This head gasket is the same for a IH 436 and IH 466.

I had an old engine builder show me that he used aluminum spray paint on head gaskets to seal them up tight against leaking and it worked. It might not work with modern gasket materials but I thought it was pretty cool. Nice job!!!

Aluminum and gold were the only spray paint colors that were thin enough to use for that.
Old hot rodder's trick, saw most use on the steel gaskets if I'm not mistaken.

I hace a 1066 that leaks a little oil around the exhaust manifold where the horizonal section joins the vertical pipe. I read some where that this is called wet capping. Can you explain to me whay causes this seepage? Thanks

Nothing uncommon about oil leaks from the head gasket. Copper coat for head gaskets. I used break parts cleaner to remove oil from the head and block.
