Best part is, some of them are references to other Holmes stories. The snake one is a reference to The Adventure of the Speckled Band, and the bank one is a reference to The Adventure of the Red Headed league.

Anyway the main point is, he gives you a hint you we just miss it as a player until we found the truth at the case and looking back at it HE always and always been on the right track just trolling all the time.

Herlock indeed.
At first I didn’t like Sholmes because my impression was that he was a very lucky idiot or taking all the glory for Iris’s hard work.
After playing both games I’m glad he’s just as smart and resourceful as other interpretations and he’s just a huge ass troll which makes him much more remarkable imo lol.
It fits him perfectly as well as sherlock was a troll and a hateable and loveable protagonist in doyle s works
He got on my nerves until the hook moment. They definitely needed to give him the saviour role in that moment so he wouldn't conflict with the player too much
Interesting I always loved him ever since case 2. He’s probably the very first fictional character I ever associated myself with. Calculated and knew almost what was happening, but played dumb. I never got fooled by his joke. Case 5 from the second game really delivers why he’s famous great detective.
I realized this even in the first game case 2 at the end of case 2 that he made false deductions intentionally to teach Ryuunosuke. He even said in case 2 that he intentionally did it and at one point he said that Ryuunosuke should play the culprit until the real crime is discovered...
I also remember the first game case 4 where he intentionally told us look the secret of that one moon head guy could be the key... Maybe is important for this case maybe it isn't... For everyone who doubted Sherlock's IQ this case should be the time they realized that Sherlock is actually a mastermind.

From what I've seen, Sherlock Holmes is a very eccentric character and if this game DOES get localized (or if I play the fan translation) I'm sure he'll be extremely entertaining! Plus his theme is a BOP

LeBlanc used this same method to have (S)Herlock in the Arsene Lupin series of novels, which were published while Conan Doyle, the creator of Sherlock Holmes, was still alive!

I see so many hate about naming him Herlock Sholmes, but I personally feel that is a good way to clarify that he's completely different to the original Sherlock Holmes, he's more crazy and eccentric.
Hate? The most I see is people preferring to call him Sherlock. I do like Herlock though as a way of distinguishing him though. Plus I like the idea of him being tied to Arsene Lupin (the First).

There is a fee for using Sherlock holmes in any form of media and Capcom dosen't have enough money to pay the fee AND localize this game at teh same time (from what I've heard)
Foxfire Productions the fee only applies to merica so they easily do it europe. they just need to translate it(funilly the dgs translation team has already done so since there is a subbed playthrought)( THEY DONT EVEN TO DO ANYTHING)
FlyingFox Productions actually, there isn't a fee at all, the company threatening has no right to Sherlock Holmes at all, they've just tried to sue before, and capcom don't want to pay legal fees fighting off a lawsuit

You can see in the last case of game 2 that his skills are legit.
Yes, case 2 made it very clear to me that he was just humouring us because he actually gives Naruhoudo a hint so big that it helped him solve the case after his wrong deductions.
Sherlock Holmes already knew what happened he just faked not knowing so he could give Naruhoudo some spotlight or something.
Some of his deductions in this game were so accurate and precise that it's really hard to believe that he doesn't know his deductions are wrong.
Apparently he does it in order to get a reaction from people, he is really perceptive either way

The main part of the song is great but the section starts at 0:48 is definitely my favourite part!
His theme song is so catchy, it's freaking stuck in my head for these past 2 weeks 😂 everytime I even start to think/analyze things, his theme start to play again 😭
I personally believe that Sherlock Holmes is a good and smart detective and could most likley get the correct answer if he put some time into it, however he is so focused on being “great” he rushes to an easy conclusion and just runs with it.
Apparently he's using his incorrect deductions to get a reaction out of people that will give him the information he (or Naruhodo) needs to get the *correct* deductions.
Essentially, a Phoenix level bluff that causes the culprit to reveal themselves.
