Let me know what you think about this new format of a voiceover (kudos to Anna Cramling for introducing me to it) and if you’d like to see more videos like this! ❤
for me its a good balance to throw in the mix of videos; i like to much humor and sillyness you have in other vids, however its is great to hear how smart you are.
Came here to comment the same thing. In all fairness, there's a lot of great chess minds on YT who are providing commentary. And i'm sure most of them would have cramped even more and even deeper explanations into this video. But most of them would have lost me blazingly fast. It seems like she's explaning at 20% speed while also avoiding to many jumps and shortcuts. Has to feel quite awkward because i'm sure she also could cramp way more into this - but by intentionaly slowing it down instead of just verbalizing the natiural way of thinking she's reaching a whole other audience. The Voice-Over-Style is very much needed - thinking fast and explaning slow seems impossible. But it also adds such a soothing dimension to it - i really like it.
The first time I saw the voiceover of players with footage of the game was in the BBC series, The Master Game, which ran from 1976-1983. It looks very clunky now, but it was highly innovative at the time, attracted a healthy viewership and I, for one, was glued to the screen. Unlike in the video, the actual game was played in private and then reconstructed in the studio later with the voiceovers (of both players) recorded immediately after the game. With modern video and computer technology I think this form of presentation is potentially an excellent way to promote chess and also gives a great insight into the thought processes of players. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Master_Game ruclips.net/video/nLNAUakH8l0/видео.html
After the match, the grandmaster was never seen again. The official reports state that during questioning Dina Belenkaya, who runs the Russian School of Chess, claimed she had no idea about his whereabouts but smiled the entire time.
@@DinaBelenkaya i don't like it when you don't throw the pieces at the end of the game when you lose. those tantrums are just adorable. the voice over style is great, getting an insight to your thought process. you are in the clear though, you were at a dinner with me at the time of his disappearance.
To be honest, I really appreciate this narrative style. Shows the serious Dina in a very educative way and counterbalances your more funny trash talk videos.
Yep. Just agreeing for the algorithm. I like Dina's trash talk etc but as a rubbish chess player it's very interesting to know how someone (much) better than me thinks through possibilities and responding to their opponents moves
The voiceover is great. Many narrations sound like reading out of a chess manual. But I think the goal should be to get the viewer as close as possible to reading the mind of the player at the board. You do a very good job of that here. It makes complicated positions easier to understand.
Your acturaly rearly good at voice overs an exsplaining your thoughts an goals threwout the match an when you exsplain why you didnt do somthin an exsplain the depth of why it was bad, honestly other than levy this might be the best voice over thats also informatinal 👍
The look at the end was priceless. You should try your hat at indie comedy films. More of this format please, informative and funny. Maybe you could summon the spirit of Bruce Lee for your next match??
Like the voice over. Took some great inspiration from Anna and gave it a spin with your own personality and with the video of the game it makes it enjoyable and educational. Subscribed.
I love the fact that you verbalize all the moves through the whole game. It gives great insight into the mind of a champion and what they are thinking. Just for the record, when it comes to chess, I couldn’t beat a newborn, but I like the game, and I like watching really good players play. Great job Dina. And a great idea from Anna. btw… your whole crew of girls are a blast to watch on your channels
Wow, this is an amazing way for me to learn and improve my game. I love the first person voiceover POV and your calculation skills are amazing. Definitely helps me spend more time thinking about my opponents potential attacks & weaknesses, which always improves my games.
I was wondering if I was the only one noticing the narration style and if it was new. Really fluid and organic way to learn, as well as interesting to listen to the streamofconsciousness thoughts. Never commented here but I will for this one. I vote for more of these too.
Okay, Dina, luv the new format since viewers can follow your thinking and what you are anticipating on every move of the opponent. You are going to entice new players to start and create some very good chess players over future games.
Funny how chess at the highest level has so many sub levels!!! You can clearly tell the difference between a 2490-2500 elo vs 2100 elo player! Then in comes Hikaru completely destroying 2500 and 2600 FIDE level and make them look like beginners!!!
Excellent production here Dina! Have to agree with all the other comments. Best way to learn, in my opinion. Next up, the book: Logical Russian School of Chess: Move by move.
some banter back and foreward after this shock would be great....actually was the entire reason i watched the video all the way through in the first place
I knew i had seen that guy before... thank you so much for the move by move thought process analysis. I can watch this multiple times and learn something new every time. 11:31
I was a bit shocked you didn't know Kayden. I LOL'd when he said, "About 1800." A good lesson is to always do a background look at all names listed at the tournament. Note down those rated higher than you, and keep this paper in your pocket. Along with any quick notes you have time to research (positional or tactical player, openings, etc.). So you play accordingly.
OK, I get that it's not the point, but I would like to point out that your nail polish looks awesome with that top. And I loved the video, was a lot of fun to watch.
It was sneaky of him not to tell you his real rating. The match overview from your side explaining the moves and the potential issues was very informative.
I know you posted elsewhere polling whether you should do videos this way or of your trash talking. I'd say some of each. Each is both informative and entertaining! And doing each helps prevent either from being too redundant.
brilliant commentary and review of your gme, yea he is good, your not to be taken lightly, i wish i could find a club in my area, over the board would be completely different for me, thank you funny as usual great sense of humor

This was fantastic. Probably a lot of work but I think it was a great way to playback a long format game. Really liked it.
Very instructive
I like it

whatever Anna says ❤
For anyone who doesn't know, that's Kayden Troff, American GM, rated about 2500
Why lie?
bluff
Wooo,damn it
No, that's Haley Joel Osment
GM means nothing these days. So easy to get compared to 20 years ago
when your best move is "maybe he'll blunder" you know you're in trouble
Dina, I really like your narration -- how you are evaluating your next move. Very educational.
that was the BEST .hearing you think and more importsnt looking out for threats. so cool . that guy was an insane attacker.
I loved it too

@@anonjp-f7r should I do more like these?!
The internal monologue thing is definitely awesome. Don't think I've seen it done quite like that before.

I liked this format a lot too, knowing what goes through her mind while playing the game
Hi Dina, I liked this type of post explaining each move, please do more in future.
Me too
That little smile when he said he was a GM. Priceless. Nice game. Like the voice over explaining your thinking.
I think this is the best video from Dina I watched so far. Very instructive. I will watch her vidoes more often now.
Wow, thank you!
@@DinaBelenkaya You should really do a lot more of this exact format, it's got legs!
🎉
Yes, agree
@@DinaBelenkaya Love to hear your thought process. Learned a lot. Thanks
Definitely keep the voiceover. It puts us in the game with emotional content as well as what's in your mind as you play, thus making it instructive.

Sounds dramatic. But not dramatic at all
Dina likes these kinds of jokes😂

the voiceover is so lively and engaging. so exciting game! love this format
Yes, please more in this format!
Kayden Troff is FIDE 2490 in classical chess.
Talking about your thought process is fire. Please continue.

Love the new format, very unique, entertaining and educational, would love to see more of it!
For someone who is learning chess, I am so glad you are verbally explaining all the moves and options/potential moves. Thank you very much.
Just saying that Voiceover is SO MUCH MORE INTERESTING than standard analysis we see on chess channels. Instant subscription!
I like how you talked about your strategy throughout the game.
those are tactics. a strategy would be over a series of games, like a match or a tournament.
The look at the end was priceless. You should try your hat at indie comedy films. More of this format please, informative and funny. Maybe you could summon the spirit of Bruce Lee for your next match??
He was US junior chess champion in 2014 with 7 out of 9 points.

out of every recap i watched from gotham hikaru and botez this is the best style so far i really loved the narration keep it up
So nice without all the negative trash talk. Tnx.
Love the "running dialogue in my head" format, very entertaining. Great game too!
Very humble "explanatory bear mode" from Dina against the number 46 in the world rankings. I like it.
Your style of video STANDS OUT ❤
Wow, this is an amazing way for me to learn and improve my game. I love the first person voiceover POV and your calculation skills are amazing. Definitely helps me spend more time thinking about my opponents potential attacks & weaknesses, which always improves my games.
More editing time for you, but very helpful for us. I hope you will be able to keep it that way. Thanks a lot !
I would do more if you really enjoyed those
Your voice over and editing (doing it yourself?) is top notch. Enjoyed it a lot. Your voice is so easy on the ear.
"No way a Grand Master would play this move."
Thank your lucky stars that you were doing it in voice over 😂

Ah love this format. Also love it when you acknowledging it's your little sister's idea ❤

Hearing your inner thoughts and seeing it on the board was really cool
The voice over is wonderfully intimate 🤙🤙
My name is What?, my name is Who? My name is, tchika tchika Slim Shady
Dina, you played way better than I would as a 1900 and I was so shocked about how he crushed. I was thinking he is probably a gm
lol
awesome explaination
🤣🤣🤣🤣 omg bro trolled you by sand bagin, you looked at him like hoody hat yeah hes 1800😭🤣 man was flyin stealth mode
I have no idea why this form of lying appeals to people, isn't lying a bad thing?
that look at the end priceless Dina 😂
That was legit hilarious. Live the format!
that was fun. :) - you could tell by how toward the end it only took him a couple of seconds to make the next move....
This format is gold. It’s literally like we’re in your mind during the game, I loved it.
Loved this presentation, I'd like to see more in this format.

Thank you for this video. Very educational and I like this style of presentation.
Great narrative style. Its nice to know that im not the only one to drive myself crazy during game play.
The voiceover is extremely interesting! I would love to see more!
Great format with the voice over. Keep em coming.

I’ll do more of these!!
It was so much fun watching and listening to her own commentary 🙂
These 1800s play different these days! 😢
The tactics he was finding were scary.
Favorite content of yours, Dina. Voiceover is a W
I like the honesty of "that seems like a club player inaccuracy" when the eval is bar is he's winning.
Nice game Dana . I like the last game . Your apponent was good competition for you.😊
“Good thing he’s not a Grandmaster or he would’ve played F4.” LMAO.
Good edit, loved the voice-over. New subscriber :)
I love this kind of videos, Anish also did a video like this for chessable and that was awesome, please continue this format
My fav style of video yet. I really liked it. Thank you Dina.

Great! Almost as funny as the game between the "the guy that made 'that device'" and the Irish master, his stress was in real-time though...
that look at the end to the camera 😂😂😂
Great post Dina.
Very instructive :)
Glad it was helpful!
Great format, thanks
I like the voice over. It gives me the feeling of playing the game with you. sweet
Yes please keep this format, it's entertaining and educational 👍
It was sneaky of him not to tell you his real rating. The match overview from your side explaining the moves and the potential issues was very informative.
I really enjoyed the commentary, it made me feel more invested in the game.
Excellent video. I really enjoyed the voiceover.
I really like this kind of hearing thoughts approach. Problem is to be authentic it’s got to happen really soon after the game I’d guess.
I love how Dina pronounces T's like D's-it’s so charming! Lader (later), Bodez (Botez)-haha, it always makes me smile!
Love the new narrative format!
Dina: "He's just an 1800. Nothing to worry about with these lower-rated opponents."
1800: "Here. Let me show you how to play chess."
Loved the post-game in-game commentary... that worked!!! So, 1800 is close to 2500 hey? I guess it's closer than zero?
Im a simple person. I see Dina post, I furiously smash the like button
Nu mă așteptam la gluma de la sfârșit! 😅😅😅
Love tbe 'thinking out loud'!

Loved the thought process
Always liked Dina since She & Anna were sitting across, at a desk format. Very nice game.
Dina, never underestimate your opponent especially when he is an undercover GM. Preparation wins games/torments. It was fun to watch though. 😎
Excellent commentary. Gg
