Geee, why is this not pinned for the best exposure? School is better with out state control. Especially self taught, like Bobby Fischer, (But like all great chess players, he did not think well off the board.). Individualism vs collectivism/communism sweetie. Every piece of greatness in the history of the world,-------------- came from one brain.
I really like this "what am I thinking" voice-over, makes for awesome videos. That kid found clever move with bishop take but missed checkmate in 2 -- and Dina found a clever move to defend avoiding blunders but it wasn't enough.
Your commentary is warm, friendly, and without arrogance. This is a rare talent. It is a delight to watch and listen to your descriptions of the game. Well done!
The most calm guy i ever seen in chess camp without any expression is Arjun. He beat Vidit and Magnus, while watching Arjun never show any facial exptessions of intimidating opponent whatsoever...such a gentleman in chess.
Agreed. I saw how he was with that young British prodigy Boghdana at the Chess Olympiad. He didn't try to demolish her on the board and stayed behind afterwards to analyse the game with her. He didn't tell her what moves she could or should have played, he suggested them! A real class act!
It's remarkable to witness children grasp complex chess concepts. Their dedication to learning and improving is truly inspiring. Seeing their faces light up after a well-played move is a pure joy. Some play 40 years and they are 1000 elo and some in a year are over 2000 great...kids are though
Unlucky there Dina. I do like these styles of reviews where players share what they were thinking at the time. I stopped playing before because I got fed-up of getting to the middlegame, having no idea of what to do next and just moving pieces around with no purpose. That's changed now.
I disagree if you said Dina tried to cheat the kid. It's more like she gave him a lesson. Dina didn't violate any rules. It's up to the opponent to call it or maybe also arbiter. You have to be ruthless on the chessboard. Because if you are not, your opponent will.
A fun fact about Dommaraju Gukesh, the Indian chess prodigy, is that he became the youngest Indian Grandmaster in history at just 12 years, 7 months, and 17 days in 2019. This achievement made him the second-youngest Grandmaster in the world at the time, just a few days behind Sergey Karjakin’s record. In 2023, Gukesh also became the youngest player to break into the world’s top 10 rankings since Magnus Carlsen, solidifying his place as one of chess’s rising stars!
after kc4 why not bishop b1 that is M1 so you have time to then move the dark square bishop after g1? it was also interesting how f4 would allow the queen the 3rd rank to h3 and if you have b1 you are set up for a windmill. It was a nice pin with the knight. the dark square bishop cant help and is blocked from attacking the king so its pretty bad bishop.
I had trouble understanding the Introduction. The boy speaks Russian. He's in Charlotte. He has a USA jacket on? What's the backstory? The Russian Chess school is now in America?
Enjoyed the game, Thought white first mistake was missing a pin on the black knight to G5, Then she let Black knight to close in on centre black knight to C4, then she panicked and I think she should have taken the Black Night on C4 with White Bishop at least she would have separated black's pawn. Also when she moved Queen to D3 now the Queen is unprotected and was open to the pin from the Black Queen (A tough pin maybe to see). She had two pawns in the centre and they were well defended so I think she was up a bit with better centre control. I am a low ranked player so not sure what is really a good move. She did well I thought.
They don’t have a over all time limit watch player gets a amount of time that per each clock hen the opponent hits their bottom the other clock starts counting up
I don't get the negative comments. She didn't cheat. It looked like she had fun. And no one likes to lose. I found your page through Anna Cramling and am a big fan of both you and her.
"My bishop on c5 is strong". Yea, sure. It only doesn't participate in king's defense and white's king is not so strong. In that position not only black a pawn up, but they are better in every positional way.
( 1:30-1:42 ) ur opinion of a 2 set advantage/s, for white... idk... I guess I don't see those as advantages... not at the moment... maybe... maybe after several moves...
( 7:42 ) girl... what u been thinking past few moves... shoulda moved / USED UR CSTLS & WHTBSP... *1 CSTL & QN (combo) *1 CSTL & BSP (combo) U coulda stopped✋ him if u woulda started a few moves ago... rt after he moved his QN next to his KNT...

"If your opponent doesn't see that you flagged, don't tell him." - A grown ass woman's advice on how to cheat in a game against a child. Way to be the bigger human, Dina.
It isn't cheating if it is an official rule, which with some real light research seems to be the case. To flag yourself would both be not the way the game is typically played (spreading misinformation) and condescending to the other player as well.

I love your narrating! SO FUNNY! And your concentrating so hard! His little jacket you keep repeating!🤣🤣
That kid was exuding confidence out of the gate, with his facial expressions indicating it. That's the way to be! Getting good will get you there.

Glad he noticed.
Unsportsmanlike not to tell a 10 year old that you’ve already lost, just because she has the losing position… Honestly, unsubbed 😒

That was the most wonderful and entertaining game you played. I enjoyed this so much. Thank you. 🌹🌹
I really enjoyed your commentary (and internal monologue).

It's just a case were rules allow you to win dishonourably.

Never seen Dina playing with Arjun Super GM...it will be interesting
Nothing interesting, she has no chances at all
Great thumbnail pic, the look on your face is funny.
Thanks Dina. I like how you are nice to the children. Good value to have sister.

Nice confidence booster for the boy.

Why don't chess clocks flash or buzz to indicate time up ?
Yeah, it's pretty silly. She's quite petty that way to keep playing. She has the cheater's spirit in her. Tis the Rus way I suppose.
NOW that was a chess video!
once you open a lane to the opponent's back row they have to sacrifice players like mad to defend
Some tactical blunders decided the game
Can anyone explain the mate in two

Best voiceovers in chess
It's better to throw away your bishop at black knight when it was on f6, it would've open up mid for a queen, but the outcome was much worse

Dina, your russian school eyes scares a lot of girls. But this is a boy! And ten years old.
The kid was trying to distract her, constantly spinning & fiddling with the pawn.Very bad sportsmanship.
I tell people Chess is a Classy Game. Ruthless, but Classy.
what. good luck dina
How do you become a grandmaster when you suck at chess? Any tips for me?
She's not a Grandmaster. She's a Woman Grandmaster. It requires a lower rating.
1) castle your king (90% of grandmasters castle every game. The only time you can get by without castling is if the queens are off the board)
2) don't lose
At 6:27 - she says "and the only move that I have in this position is going to be queen D2".
Why not rook D1 to D2?
As nh3+ loses queen
