The players at Leipzig didn't want to play the system. That caused a lot of the issue, and Jesse, as much as Leipzig, made a decision to change.

If we're considering either Choiniere or Ahmed as a second 8 beside Kone, it's surely gotta be Ahmed. Choiniere is still too green at this level. And while I fully agree that Choiniere has looked great a club level, CPL is obviously not the same as MLS. In his brief moments with the national team, Choiniere did not look convincing to me. Ahmed impressed right outta the gate (with results). He's earned it.
I'd put Adekugbe at LFB and Davies at LW. Those two have looked the strongest together, but both can't push forward. If/when one goes the other has to stay back. Same on the right side. We must keep 4 at home in the back this summer. My vote is for a 4-1-4-1 that shifts to 4-1-2-3 in attack. Works really well with the squad we'll likely field. Just needs to be really disciplined.
In a Marsch led pressing 4-2-3-1, my worry is that these south american teams could carry the ball out of our press and catch us committed too far forward. I'd prefer a tactic we've seen Christiansen deploy with Panama; sporadic pressing. David is great at pressing, but it doesn't strike me that our squad as a group is good enough at that tactic to expect it to go well against teams that are highly capable at moving the ball around.
    David
    Davies. Kone. Ahmed. Buchanan
    Eustaquio
    Adekugbe. Miller. Bombito Johnston

Little clarification there are 2 Choiniere's their is Mathieu and their is David. The Mathieu who I believe is the big brother plays in MLS with CF Montreal and has been quite good for them for quite a number of years. He was even their nomenee for the all star game vs arsenal and did not play badly against them especially compared to some of the other MLS stars who did not show up( due to not wanting to risk injury). The little brother who plays for Forge FC is David Choiniere they are two diffrent players. Ahmed I have not seen much but for the time I have seen him play he seems very good and very fluid if I am being honest so I am genuinly ok seing him play, get minutes, or even start for the national team, if its needed for the formation we are playing in, he seems like a good player, so I wont complain about him playing or even starting if need be with the formation we are playing.

@@daniellizotte6110 Ah, I didn't realize there were two of 'em. So it's Mathieu I've seen with the national team and David at Forge. From Mathieu's 2 appearances with Canada I didn't feel he was ready for the big show. I'd love to see him get more looks with the national team but I wouldn't be looking to him for any serious minutes this summer.

Not gonna lie but if we are about to hand over the head coach role to Marsch then why not give the likes of Henry Lampard Gerrard a chance. Marsch failed big time in Germany and England. His style of play is not sustainable at all. I am sorry but the names being mentioned for the role of head coach is just sad , it shows how broke we are. We need a massive financial boost and the only way to do that in today's time is either get involved with the United States or the Middle East. Have them buy teams in the CPL and increase the finances there which will start generated a big amount of money for the federation. As of which coach to go with as of right now then I would look short term. I know this might seem a bit odd but I'm sure we can afford the big name coaches in a short term. For instance approach the likes of Mourinho till the Copa America , that way it works for both . For us not only does it give us more time to find a proper coach but in the meantime our players get to play under an elite manager even if it is for a month. Mourinho would benefit cause he would be coaching a team in the copa America which he wanted to do for a while. You never know if the players and Mourinho start having a decent relationship Mourinho might just stay back till 2026. I know all this might be crazy to think but it actually could be possible but the major push has to come from the cmnt cause they need it more then the elite managers like Mourinho

Jesse Marsch is not the guy... We're not looking for a set of training wheels to attach to a wheel... We're looking for a coach who understands the dark arts of CONCACAF as well as knowing how to navigate the team through the World Cup as hosts... We're not looking for a guy who is preparing his boys for the day they get to wear "big boy" shoes... Let's pass on Jesse Marsch, thanks, but respectfully, no thanks...
