  • I used to be addicted to video games. When I was in high school, I was shy, insecure, and I didn’t have a lot of friends. I used video games in order to escape how I was feeling inside. Being a video gamer almost destroyed my life but luckily I was able to rid myself of this destructive habit. Do you want to know how to overcome video game addiction? Join my Morning Ritual Mastery program that will help you change your habits and transform every area of your life: morningritualmastery.com/?utm...
In this video, Stefan shares with you how to overcome video game addiction.
This is something that affects people of all ages, especially teens and pre-teens. Studies estimate that 10-15% of gamers exhibit signs that meet the World Health Organization’s criteria for addiction.
The virtual fantasy world enables you to connect with real people through the Internet, as a substitute for real-life human connection.
Stefan used to spend hours/day playing video games. He was totally immersed in it. For him, it was a way to escape the real world.
Once he broke free of video game addiction, his life changed forever.

I needed this... Been playing games all my life, 4 years ago my father passed away due to brain cancer. The last time I saw him in hospital in his bed, he said to me "son you finally found time to leave your computer?" My own further saw me as a gamer, a lazy good for nothing gamer... And he was correct, 3 days later he passed away... I never did spend much time with my own father, he offered to take me to the beach, go for dinner.... Sorry father I'm bit busy. Maybe tomorrow? I was busy getting a new level on league, or camping for mounts on wow. I choose to ignore my father to just play games..... Now his gone.
I know this is a long message, and some of you may read it and go. Lol. But please spend time with your family. Games can be paused and online games you can just risk it. Because when they are gone, and all you have left to show is your rank?
If I can do it. So can you.
    Thank you for reading
I love you dad, am sorry I didn't spend time with you.

This has got to be one of the best videos I have ever seen on RUclips. I was broken absolutely broken and wondering if life is worth living and praying to God to kill me, now I am wondering what I could do to change my life and get over my addiction. It has destroyed my life it's destroying my family I have no friends no one even wants to talk to me and it's the same with me. I'm trying to turn to God and I think this is what he is trying to show me. Some traumatic things have happened in my past I turned to video games and then meth, I got help getting away from meth but I can not get away from video games I'm going to try really hard I need this really really badly. I'm tired of being a failure. God bless you sir.

You confirmed my thoughts and suspicions about my boyfriend. I feel like he’s gonna miss a lot of milestones of his son. He’s already missing some right now but I update him at times. But now it’s getting to tiresome to keep asking him to interact or pay attention. We are going separate ways soon and once we do there will be peace. This I know for a fact. What hurts the most is right after we came from the hospital from the birth of our son he slid right into the sofa to play. While I struggled to recover on my own. And this is after he swore he would not do that to me. Anyhow I’m done. I’m always in bed alone so enough is enough.

However, after watching this video I realised that I am not addicted to video games, yes it is a waste of time/money when I play them but I have never done any of the things you have done (skip school, sneak around to play etc). I have never been into online gaming or MMORPGS etc which obviously helped me, So quite happy with that.

I just looked at my life and realized "Shit all this other stuff sounds waaay more awesome than playing video games." and started doing them more and more till there was no more room to fit video games in.
Focus on what you want to create more of in your life. Rather than what you want to remove or make less of. This is probably my number 1 realization.

I'm 24 and been cutting down time of gaming due to art, creative writing comic books excercise, errands socializing. All what listed gimmie something back, gaming doesn't gaming just give false sense of achievement

Thanks man this really helped me finally open my eyes, am a teen boy who is 17 am in grade and yet am spending hours playing Mobile Lengeds Bang Bang while I have lots of work to do and study.... I think a lot that I won't make in life because my friends at school are better than me, but I realize that I can be a better by fixing and building my self up....

Thanks alot man, when I'm older I want to become a professional footballer but video games have been half of my entire life. I spent time obviously practising and training and all the research.
But I feel like I'm not doing enough and enough to get were I actually want to be (big league ext) and so I watched this vide and trust me, I feel much more in the mood to stop.
I need to reach my absolute maximum limit in my development and get completely out of my comfort zone of shyness to be the best person I can be

You are so right!!! I should find your video earlier and show my husband. He is too addicted to it and already affects our marriage. He still doesn’t know what to do to give up video games.

I wish i tackled this earlier, im 25 now. it definetely interfered with my highschool and college studies, not to the point of failing, but i should have excelled it if wasn’t for spending so much time in videogames. I’m getting my dentistry degree soon, but i feel i should have studied harder in order to be more competent and provide a great service...

Making gaming into more of a "job" has helped me cut down on time spent playing, plus the occasional press copy is a nice perk

I think the biggest reason for alot of people isnt just the escape but the goal setting. Games are made to keep you engaged by giving you goals and then making you feel accomplished when its done after having a good time doing it.
