You should do one long video of your hair routine for the week. I know you've done hair routines in the past but you're always showing us new products (which is amazing, thank you!) but you've probably switched products or added some to your routine. So you should show us washing your hair in the shower like you've done before and then how you style it afterwards. Then show us if you do anything at night for your hair! then show us how you style your 2nd, 3rd, and 4th day hair each day until you wash it again. This would be so helpful and I have curly hair but I want new, better products like the ones you use! Thank you India!
I was wondering where my curls went. My hair just went completely straight and yes, I cried. I did not know that shampoo, conditioner and heavy products were my enemy. Well, the wrong ones. So, I am so excited to learn all of this at the age of 50! 😘 Never to old to learn!!
Hormones can also change your hair, some women who've had straight hair their whole lives end up with curly hair after menopause. Not saying that's what happened but if you've been using the same products this whole time, that might not exactly be the issue since they would've been weighing your hair down before too, slowly "erasing" your curls.
@@meowscutie yes I agree. My hair was straight. I would just blow dry with my finger no product needed. My hair was perfect and shiny. After 2 kids my hair has gotten so wavy probably a 2b 2c and so lost on how to care for this frizzy mess I now have.

You should do a whole head of pin curls!!! They used to be considered a temporary perm, or brushed out for vintage styles but they look so good in your hair! 😍😍
To all of the people posting “hate” comments on India’s videos (which idk why first of all), you should realize that her whole channel ENCOURAGES YOU to rock your natural hair and you’re over here DISCOURAGING her natural hair texture... please tell me how that makes sense? Oh right, it’s called jealousy.

Mariah i don't understand how others comments about a product is called "hate". About FYI I personally can't stand people that feel the need to put others in their place perhaps you should self reflect. Aussie has silicones which make your hair look amazing so if soneone wants to mention that or alcohol or not CMG approved so be it. Here's my comment her hair got more definition until she fluffed it out then it looked like how it looked before she started. lol
My hair is 2B/2C and my second day hair is always flat and straight and I never used to refresh, so this video has been very helpful, thank you! I love your channel!

Yes! I was really hesitant at first but as long as it’s wet, you can do ALL the brushing you want, then just scrunch scrunch scrunch! Best way I’ve found to refresh 👌🏼

I picked up the Aussie dry shampoo and the coconut jojoba oil yesterday and tried on my day 3 hair. It smells amazing and my hair is so soft, fluffy and full. I’m so glad you you did this video. It was so inexpensive too.
I’ve recently decided on a 3 Month Hair Repair Journey and part of that is my desire to get my hair healthy enough to wear naturally, something I haven’t done in like 20+ years 😬 I stumbled upon the crazy popular CGM and it’s loyal following. I tried it and do not love it, I don’t get its popularity. Problem for me is all the steps and products they want you to use weigh my hair down and make it just look ratty. No thank you. You’re the closest hair match to me and the only one really talking about how to properly love your big wavy/curly and fully embrace it. I’m a solid 2C mostly all over but the underside wants to be a 3A, and that’s with years of blow drying AND straightening approx twice a week for like 20 years. I’m already a month into my repair journey and primarily using Olaplex to do it. So far for the past 4 weeks I’ve used No.0&3 twice a week. I am strictly using Olaplex No.4 Shampoo and No.5 Conditioner (plus deep conditioning after every time I wash it) and using Olaplex No.6 Leave In and No.7 Oil for the past 4 weeks, so the results from the reparative treatments are really beginning to show, in feel and to the eye. So I’m thinking that when my hair gets to an even healthier state I might be a more 2C/3A all over. Hopefully anyway. I also do have to do some layering, even if just long layers in the back because it’s currently all only one length back there, not great for curly hair. I I’ll say Olaplex leave in is just not enough for my hair, I have to add a second leave in to really hydrate my dry hair. Even with both, it’s still dry and frizzy... Oh the joys of wavy/curly hair... 😂 I have discovered that my hair likes a good mousse more than it does a gel, loving the John Freida Strong hold Mousse right now. I kinda knew that my hair responded nicely to mousse from when I was younger but I tried the ridiculous CGM layering products method anyway, convinced they knew better than me 😒My hair likes the tiniest bit of a light curl cream, my fav right now being Not Your Mother’s Curl Cream. That stuff is really amazing. And then a little oil to scrunch out the slight cast that the sting hold mousse leaves behind. Leaves my waves and curls bouncy and light and free. Sometimes I’ll go over the whispies with a smoothing gel, but I’m still learning what amount is right for me, too little does nothing and too much weighs it down. And that’s it. All the other stuff is just too much and weighs my hair down. Or it’s big as in frizzy at the root and a few inches into the mid shaft but the end curls are still weighed down, really not a cute look 😂 I’m learning as I go. Had a pretty good hair day yesterday, hoping I can refresh it to look even near as good today. Thank you so so much for sharing your tips and tricks! I just subbed 😘
I started growing my hair out pretty much 3 years ago, and man it's been the best thing I've ever chosen to do. I really love long hair. Despite this, I always thought that my hair was straight, until I tried the curly girl(or. well, in this case curly guy) method and found that it gave me so much volume and some nice 2b/2c waves. I'm still learning and getting down what works and what doesn't for my hair. Thank you for the great videos!
Yea, I would love to see your mom's routine. I truly believe that our changes as we older and I would like to see what products she uses. Also, your jacket is legit! It totally reminds me of the early 2000's when I was in high school.
I loved how it looked right before you fluffed it up or “juzhed” it, it was so pretty and defined! But it’s your hair so whatever you like best is what’s right for you! 💙
I really want to thank you because I saw this video on Wednesday just hours before leaving for a three day trip in Edinburgh and usually I would just give up and keep my hair in a bun after the first day but instead here I am on my fourth day with curly hair still looking nice (today is the last day so that's it, I made it) . Thank you thank you thank you.
For anyone who cares about this, that brand is known for testing on animals. They are owned by Proctor and Gamble. No hate intended towards India. Gotta make a living sometimes.
When I was in 5th grade I ended up doing a project on proctor and gamble's animal testing practices. This was in 1992 wow its amazing they are still testing on animals.
You've been one of my go go's while my hair is transitioning back to it's waves/curls. And I just wanna say how thankful I am to have stumbled across your channel. You're absolutely gorgeous and I love how sweet and energetic you are. And I've learned so much. My loose spirals from when I was a toddler have already started coming back! I'm so excited. But I definitely was at a loss and kind of still am on day 2 & 3 😂.
Girl! I just gave in and bought the Garnier curl jelly and love beauty and planet’s sulfate free shampoo and conditioner! My hair has never looked better! You need to review love beauty and planet’s sulfate free line! I tried the turmeric one and I think the have rose too! I’m telling you life changing and I hope the drugstore doesn’t discontinue it! Thank you for all you do for the curl community! God bless!
Can you PLEASE post an updated routine? I've used devacurl ever since I started my journey. I'm so lost and don't know what to use. Shampoos, conditioners, stylers, etc.
Thank you for this! I have always been confused if i'm doing the "right thing" for my hair, specially when watching at first videos of girls that had a curlier hair pattern than mine. Now seeing this, I realize that some things I have been doing for a long time (like the bobby pinning while drying and shaking my hair with fingers close to my scalp), are actually the same things that your recommend. The only thing I still need to work on is not doing my washing routine as often, right now i'm washing every other day, but I see how a curl pattern like mine can be just refreshed and still look gorgeous, and that it's fine to work out and just refresh. 💛💛
I have never watched your channel before and thank you for sharing. I am looking for new hair oils and conditioning spray ideas. In my routine, after washing and applying leave in conditioner, or refreshing with a conditioning spray to revive my hair, I twist my hair into a loose French twist, leaving all the ends out and clamp the French twist in a short claw clip behind the crown of my head. If I need to add volume to the top or if ends are falling out, I put a small claw clip clamp on the top of my head in front of the one on the back, making the top of my hair poof up to dry, and you can twist the top layers to proof up the top and encourage curl revival if needed before you clamp. After my hair is more dry I may redo the clips, or if it is time to go I will style and go after scrunching and maybe a spritz of a conditioning spray. Easier than having to flip your hair around. I just make sure to spritz and scrunch all of the ends during drying time.
This video was incredibly helpful! Thank you for sharing! I'd love to see your Mom's routine if she's up for it. I bought a small spray bottle from the dollar store for my refresh days. I'm a penny pincher, too. :)
This was insanely helpful, I've been a wash my hair every day type of girl my whole life (and didn't even start using products for wavy hair until like a year ago oof) and I haven't had a clue what you're supposed to do on days you don't wash I feel a lot better about trying to transition over to washing less frequently now
Hey India! Thank you so much for this video! I love your positive attitude! I have fine, curly/ wavy hair, and sensitive skin. Refreshing 2nd day, and finding curly products that don't cause an allergic reaction is a struggle for me. :( (Some products had my eyes swell, hives on my face, etc. Defeated, I return the other items to the store, and I always come back to Aussie. Aussie has minimal ingredients, don't cause a reaction, and within my budget! Woohoo! *\^^/* ) I sweat A LOT doing martial arts 5~6 days a week. And yes! I get rained on too! :) Whew..between training, working full time, taking care of a home/overall adulting, I don't have a lot of time to re-wash/ style my hair. So, I do appreciate you adding in all those real-life variables! Going to give this a try, with the dry shampoo, and see how it goes. Keeping my fingers crossed! ^^/
India, how can you flip your hair around so much without breaking up the curl clumps on top? If I flip my part even once while drying, my top clumps break apart and get all stringy, We have about the same length of hair and seem to have the same curl pattern (2b-3a) but my curl pattern is much looser on top (2b/c mostly). Is your curl pattern tighter onto and that's why it stays together? I've been cg for about 8 months.
A harder-hold gel might help too. I was on DevaCurl Ultra for a while and had the same problem of “If I move at all my hair will frizz, even when fully dry.” I switched to Arc Angel and my clumps stay together now even with gentle handling.
That's what my hair is like. It's basically straight or lightly wavy for the first few inches. Then 2b/3a curls further down. It's hard and volume on top is basically impossible for me.
@@hollyblue28 you should try clipping the hair up around your part. Most drug stores sell these little metal clips (maybe 1/2" - 1" long? ). Instead of clipping them flat on your head (against your scalp), kind of try to zig zag them through your hair on one side of your part and clip them sideways so that they're actually holding your hair up and away from your scalp. Then do the other side. Grabbing pieces here and there ( "zig zagging" ) makes it look like no dent was made by the clips- the opposite as if you were to clip one straight large chunk of hair. Hope this wasn't too confusing. I think there are videos on here about it if you just search like "clipping part volume" or "curly girl part clipping" & similar phrases
Hey India! Would you ever do a make up routine video for us? You never seem to over do your make up and I love it! Thanks for all the videos and fun energy! -Rebecca 😊
Rebecca Romine I would love to do more simple makeup routines, I guess I just don’t consider myself to be a makeup artist so i always get nervous they won’t be good enough 🙈🙈 AND THANK U FOR THE LOVE
thank youuu ! i've been using these tips & always thought my hair was super curly as a child but turned wavy as i got older , i recently found out how curly & bouncy it actually is 😭💙.
Wouldn't it be better to use the dry shampoo after your hair dries since it's a powder based product and water is either gonna be absorbed by it or move it away from your scalp possibly drying out the length and ends?
I use a laundry steamer to refresh. It works beautifully. I wash once a week and on day 2, I "refresh" using some hard hold gels and such. All the rest of the days, I can use the laundry steamer only to refresh and it looks fantastic. I use the Aussie Volume Dry Shampoo. It works very well for volume.
@@a.b.7932as long as your hair isn't under running water it wont., I just use a spray bottle, or just wet hands. You can feel the product get slippery again....It'll even leave a cast again when it dries...and I only wet pieces of hair on the 2nd day. Just the bits that can be seen and need it.
Girl I love you!!! I love the fact you are not totally cg approved. I recently realized that organic is not for me!!! I do wash and condition with sulfate and silicone free but my styling products might not be! Actually I really enjoy the cleansing shampoo a lot ha. I was beating myself up because I feel like I failed and there was something wrong with me. Why weren’t organic products like deva or raw curls working for me? My hair felt worse, itchy, gross...greasy...I tried it for 7 and a half months. Yes I clarified before using them! I’m now back to flat ironing too. Oops...stay amazing ❤️
Thanks for this video India! I have had so much frizz and I didn’t have a clue what to do about it. Buying the Aussie miracle oil and dry shampoo TODAY. Thanks girl! 🙏🏼
My hair gets SOOOOOO crazy tangled the day after wearing it naturally wavy and I have to completely re brush it in order to not get crazy matted knots. Does this happen to anyone else??? I literally can’t wear second day curls bc I have to brush it out 😭😭
a smith don’t brush out your curls 🤭 might night to switch up whatever styler/gel your using and possible try sleeping in a pineapple ponytail??? Tbh. I always get matted knots at the base of my head but then I got an undercut 3 years ago to manage that and also deal with the amount of hair I have, and I will Never go back
Anita Ballachanda Thank you I’ll try a pineapple! I recently realized that the products that help with volume like deva curls wave maker just have too much “texture” in them and my hair just mattes up. Also recently bought a silk pillowcase which has helped so far!
Same here. I found that brushing at night, spritzing with water (or just running my brush under water for one final brush through at the end) and then rope braiding it over night works best. The curls are reformed and my hair is tangle-free and knot-free without using any products so 0 build-up as well. For the record, I don't scrunch my hair. Ever. It just leads to knots and tangles from the get-go. I just lace rope and then dutch braid the length.
My hair would always get so tangled, like big knots in the top of my head. I sleep in a satin bonnet and as long as I do this my hair doesn't get super tangled.
I would love to see your moms hair routine!! Also, it's been bugging me for awhile because I knew you reminded me of someone but couldnt figure out who. I finally figured it out the other day. To me personally, you look alot like hollyn, the christian singer. I swear ya'll could be twins!!! Soooo pretty!
it's really awesome that you were sponsored by aussie, but it's disappointing that you completely avoided mentioning that the hair oil contains silicones when i'm sure you're aware that a large portion of your viewer base follows the CGM :(
Oils that are used as sealers do have silicones some any way they add them in Aussie all just about products have silicones. Hey silicones make your hair look incredible so if you clarify no problem.
First thanks for the video! I appreciate that you are choosy about what products you will sponsor.I feel you are totally being honest with your reviews. Would love to see another video with your mom.
Obviously not that choosey. This is a DISGUSTING company that uses horrible ingredients and tests their products on animals. They do horrible things to these animals. It's 2019. Anyone who would support a brand like this cares about money more than morals.
That twist and pin trick is amazing! Thank you. If your mom hasn't posted a video I would love for her to make one. I just started embracing my curl at 43 years old.
Same!! But also when she said "you can get a spray bottle on Amazon for 10 bucks" I was like 🤑😲 girl what are you talking about?!? $1 at the freaking Dollar Store! Who buys a $10 water spray bottle lol??
Erica Bertagnol I know. But I was trying to find a quick refresh video for 2nd/3rd hair days. But this would take me longer than it does on wash days. Her hair looks great tho.
I just realized I had wavy/curly hair! I'm old btw! Been watching all your videos! I like NYM and agree the least favorite is the curlrefreshing one! I can't give up my Kurl Up by KMS but I work all the others in my routine! I'm still learning! Hope you put out an updated video on hair routines and tricks
My question...how to work with a cowlick at the back of my head towards the crown. It seems to have a mind of it's own. I always have to use a clip to hide it and I don't want to use any clips. Help! Maybe that pin curl idea at the crown and leave them in while I diffuse!
106andie this one was on the subscription I have through alo moves /: so it’s not free on the internet. Buttttt on RUclips fitness blender is a great one to look into !!
yaaaas we would love your mom's hair routine ... and by the way why your hair is always awesome yaaaas that refresh you did made it even more beautiful wohoo ♡
Hey India!! My hair is 2c-3a (on a good day) and this video was super helpful! My usual problem is that the hair on the back of my head gets flatter and drier which I hate. I love Aussie products, especially the 3 min miracles and the refreshing spray but I am not sure the dry shampoos have come out in Greece yet! :(

Do you normally do this with aussie products? I'm curious what your non sponsored products are when you refresh.
@Michelle Janko alot of them but I think the ones she chose don't have any
@Joud Faisal *not all of them though
I started growing my hair out pretty much 3 years ago, and man it's been the best thing I've ever chosen to do. I really love long hair. Despite this, I always thought that my hair was straight, until I tried the curly girl(or. well, in this case curly guy) method and found that it gave me so much volume and some nice 2b/2c waves. I'm still learning and getting down what works and what doesn't for my hair. Thank you for the great videos!
This helps me not want to give up! I always feel like I need to soak my hair again. And yes please, Mom routine!😍
My "been in a bun for a week" hair needed this 😂😂
Ciara Herndon I FEEL YOU!!!!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂 mine is in a bun as I write this comment 😂
Giiiiiirl I felt that
Yep literally all the time 😂😂😂
Same !
Braids for me! It's always super frizzy after braids too :(
For anyone who cares about this, that brand is known for testing on animals. They are owned by Proctor and Gamble.
No hate intended towards India. Gotta make a living sometimes.
When I was in 5th grade I ended up doing a project on proctor and gamble's animal testing practices. This was in 1992 wow its amazing they are still testing on animals.
Wow 😱 didn't even know that
Thanks !
EXACTLY!!!
it's hard to respect a company that tortures little bunnies
Rainwater seriously makes my hair even curlier than it already is. I wish my regular water did the same lol
Katie Zahrobsky get a water softener for the shower! Helps take out the added chemicals in shower water. They’re like $20 on Amazon.
I can relate to this on a deep level😍😍
Thank you for commenting this! My hair looks amazing on drizzling days where it's lightly raining because it gets slightly damp but not soaked!
It is because rain water has a slightly lower ph than regular water. Watch Manes by Mell's video on ph affecting hair.
SAME
You've been one of my go go's while my hair is transitioning back to it's waves/curls.
I would really like to see your mother's hair routine.... Please Mama ❤❤😍
Thais Miranda Pinto IM GOING TO SHOW HER ALL THESE COMMENTS
God bless!

Amanda Romero IM GOING TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN
@@indiabatson26 make it happen girl!!!!🤣🤣🤣
You are the first person I have ever subscribed to. I’m obsessed with your hair!!! I follow you methods and it really has changed me. Thank you.
Can you PLEASE post an updated routine? I've used devacurl ever since I started my journey. I'm so lost and don't know what to use. Shampoos, conditioners, stylers, etc.
Is your hair falling out?
Please DONT use devacurl! There’s a lotta vids about it! Don’t throw it out tho! You could get your money back!
I love this refresh your hair. I would have never thought to use dry shampoo. Thx for being authentic!
I got deva curl wave maker and curling cream and my hair is way curler now
Sarah Wasdin yayyy I’m so glad they worked well for you 🤗
Try the Deva foam. I just got that Monday and I'm amazed at how good it is. My hair looks so curly now!
I love Devacurl my fav product is the Supercream! It’s literally the best!
Is your hair falling out?
IndiaBatson this didn’t age well 😉
Thank you for this! 💛💛
I literally don’t have curly hair but I watch all your curly videos. Idk why. Anyone else?
Tell your mom, yes please! Would love to see her routine. And thank you for sharing this. That worked out great!
I’m from Australia and have never heard of Aussie hair products 🤔
This was insanely helpful, I've been a wash my hair every day type of girl my whole life (and didn't even start using products for wavy hair until like a year ago oof) and I haven't had a clue what you're supposed to do on days you don't wash
I feel a lot better about trying to transition over to washing less frequently now
Your hair is stunning! I'm usually too lazy to refresh my curls, but now I'm inspired :)
Woohoo! *\^^/* )
I sweat A LOT doing martial arts 5~6 days a week. And yes! I get rained on too! :)
Whew..between training, working full time, taking care of a home/overall adulting,
I don't have a lot of time to re-wash/ style my hair.
So, I do appreciate you adding in all those real-life variables!
Going to give this a try, with the dry shampoo, and see how it goes.
Keeping my fingers crossed! ^^/
I would love to see your mom’s hair routine! But also, I think you two swapping your hair routine would also be a great video!!
Ella G ahhh I love both ideas!!!!!!!
IndiaBatson Please do both!
I agree, these are great ideas!
I’d just like to say that I do not have curly hair and I genuinely enjoy these videos.
I've been cg for about 8 months.
try to wait to flip ur hair until it's almost fully dry so the curls are already in place but you can still add volume
"Zushing" is a perfect term that is yours. I love it & will remember it! Thanks for the tips, too!
Your hair is my goal!! I have similar hair type and I'm so happy because once I master the curly girl method it will look like yours 😍
KELA YOU ARE SO SWEET!!! Your hair is already beautiful too 🤗
Beginning the CGM next week. Th3ia video and your how to start has helped a lot. Very excited to go product shopping and get started. TFS girl.
@@indiabatson26 I think your make up looks fantastic! I'm curious to try that oil you used in this video, too.
I came here looking for her makeup routine too
@IndiaBatson I love your makeup, too! We have the same coloring, so I would love to see a tutorial. You're a true beauty!!
thank youuu ! i've been using these tips & always thought my hair was super curly as a child but turned wavy as i got older , i recently found out how curly & bouncy it actually is 😭💙.
I really like your pink make up in this video, could you do a tutorial?
Wouldn't it be better to use the dry shampoo after your hair dries since it's a powder based product and water is either gonna be absorbed by it or move it away from your scalp possibly drying out the length and ends?
Thank you for sharing your hair routines! You’re so beautiful inside and out! Blessings to you 💖
The tip for using warm water is very helpful. Thanks for sharing!
Yes I want to see your moms curly routine! 🤩
Jennifer M yayyyyyy stay tuned!!
Ya that would be cool to see how your mom does her hair. It’s always cool to see how different curly/ wavy girls get their hair the way they like it.
Yess!! Mumma Bats come and show us your hair routine
Peige 5 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Also, I'm in Australia and these Aussie products are really hard to find! I'm on the hunt for them
switch hair routines!!!
Angela Edwards fascinating !!!! 😻 thanks for sharing
When I wet and add product the second day my hair is an frizzy mess. I don’t know what to do. Anyone ??
Just wet it, dont add any more product on the 2nd day. The 1st days product should be enough when the water re-activates it.
Veil Break Doesn’t the water just rinse it out though when you re-wet it?
@@a.b.7932as long as your hair isn't under running water it wont., I just use a spray bottle, or just wet hands. You can feel the product get slippery again....It'll even leave a cast again when it dries...and I only wet pieces of hair on the 2nd day. Just the bits that can be seen and need it.
Thank you so much for this video. I really love the dry shampoo trick. It has been a game changer for my volume issues.
Thank you...What works for one doesn't work for all!!!!
Thanks for this video India! I have had so much frizz and I didn’t have a clue what to do about it. Buying the Aussie miracle oil and dry shampoo TODAY. Thanks girl! 🙏🏼
Yessssss I would love to see your mom's hair routine!!! I am 49 and I have been wearing my hair curly finally!!!! PS do you use hair spray?
I'm assuming she wouldn't since most hair sprays have alot of alcohols in x
Lucy Wallis Oh ok. I guess I'm wondering after you fluff how you get it to stay fluffy like that and not collapse without hair spray?
Omg yes your mom is the cutest, id love to see her routine!!
I sleep in a satin bonnet and as long as I do this my hair doesn't get super tangled.
a smith at that point I just take a shower.
I would love to see your moms hair routine!! Also, it's been bugging me for awhile because I knew you reminded me of someone but couldnt figure out who. I finally figured it out the other day. To me personally, you look alot like hollyn, the christian singer. I swear ya'll could be twins!!! Soooo pretty!
it's really awesome that you were sponsored by aussie, but it's disappointing that you completely avoided mentioning that the hair oil contains silicones when i'm sure you're aware that a large portion of your viewer base follows the CGM :(
I agree! I was just reading the ingredients to check if they were CGA and they're not :(
Aussie isn’t good for your hair in general, all of their products either contain alcohol, silicone or sulphates :(
Oils that are used as sealers do have silicones some any way they add them in Aussie all just about products have silicones. Hey silicones make your hair look incredible so if you clarify no problem.
I just used this in my hair and read your comment and am super let down... :(
You can watch Manes by Mell's video on silicones and on CGM in general.
Thank you for your advices!! It's was helpful!! And yes I would love to see your mum's curly routine!! 😍

Volume has a lot to do with your haircut. A good haircut goes a long way! Your hair is gorgeous and so is your soul. ❤️
My question...how to work with a cowlick at the back of my head towards the crown. It seems to have a mind of it's own. I always have to use a clip to hide it and I don't want to use any clips. Help! Maybe that pin curl idea at the crown and leave them in while I diffuse!

Here in the UK we have the dry shampoos but I don’t think we have the same ones she uses :(
