Okay that’s heartwarming and all but that’s no true mate. Maybe for some but not for all. I but when it comes to superman. I only like him because he’s a good person… but cap to what you said
@@coyraig8332 Ok, this might sound complicated, but can you imagine that people can love superheroes both because of the flashy fights and deep lore, *and* because they represent selfless virtuous people with great hearts?
Indeed, The powers and spectacle are important but without any heart and purpose, They're just noise. Big Fiction and High Fantasy can still have Feels. That's why we love Anime and Comics. Atleast I do
Reminds me of that comic panel where Batman is playing blocks with a little girl in a hospital while Superman and Wonder Woman are collecting information from there :,)
As someone who went to Cardinal Glennon growing up because of my arthritis, I got to see how heartbreaking a lot of this is first hand. That part where the kid is scared to go to sleep really hit home for me, it's awful any child has to go through that man.
God, I remember this one comic where Spiderman is utterly DEVASTATED by the fact an innocent kid ended up critically hurt on his watch. He literally rushes inside a hospital, the kid in his arms, begging the doctors to do the best they could to save his life. MJ finds Peter alone in his apartment ridden with guilt, and the rest of the story revolves around him going to visit the kid and his parents, who openly blame Spiderman for the entire thing. I don't exactly remember the middle of it, but the ending is depressing. The kid deduces Peter is Spiderman (because of his repeated visits) and encourages him, saying that he's his favourite superhero and that he's always admired him since he was little, and after Peter denies for the last time that he's his hero, he flatlines, his last world's being something along the line of "If you're not SM, the who...". In the last two pages Peter visits his grave, and the parents show up again, telling him to deliver a file to SM and to not let the hero be devoured by guilt. The file is a handmade comic book written by the kid, where he represents himself as a superhero helping Spidey out during a fight and becoming his partner. The last page is simply Peter thanking the kid for all the support he's given him, even in his hardest time. Could anyone get me the title? I'm physically miles away from the issue where I first read it and I'm kinda too lazy to look it up
You're not a crybaby. Everytime I see one of these stories, I always tear up as I imagine what it would be like to be one of these heroes, seeing a sick child's face light up, after all of the misery they have likely gone through for their age, as they see their favorite hero, their idol.
That actually touched my heart because not a lot of people get to meet they’re Idols so I’m happy her did and got to do something not many kids got to do with Spider-Man
I personally want more stories like this. Watching them fighting supervillains is fun, but for me it has more impact Superman talking and hugging a teenager who was scared and about to do a terrible choice. I feel like they stick more, because they are real problems, they don't need a strange disease, or a super powerful enemy, just heroes helping people in situations that happen in real life.
I cried, it’s heartwarming, nice, and it shows just how much Spider-Man cares about the people. And I feel bad for the kid too, because he’s 9 and a half, and probably has like cancer scared that if he goes to bed he’ll truly never wake up again…
Something about Spider-Man makes me emotional. Idk how to describe it. Maybe because of the way be cares so much about people. I’m not saying others don’t, I remember, in the Justice League animated series (I forget the episode) but the Flash was talking to one of his enemies in a bar and he actually showed to care for them. Spider-Man is such a heartwarming superhero. You have to love him. His comics are consistent tear-jerkers.
This this is right here is why I love superheroes. Don’t love them for the powers. I don’t love them because they’re fame. Cool fights anything I love. Because they give us hope and showing us that they’re looking out even for the little less people God I love Spider-Man so much.
My favorite heroes aren't always the strongest or funniest or any of that. They're the people that I want to be, Spider-Man's not only my favorite because of his A list villains, great narratives, or his cool powers, I like him because he's always the one in these situations, no matter what it is he always comes in with an upbeat attitude that gives people hope, the powers don't make the hero, it's the person that does.
I read this story before, and it broke me. Hearing it again here brought back tears. One of the reasons I love storytelling so much is how much it could move a person and get us to think.
Jesus dude. Your 30 second summary of Leah was enough to bum me out, I can’t imagine actually reading the comic. It’s amazing how much comics can convey emotion or get their readers to feel something over most movies and shows.
I'm gonna be honest with ya'll... I hate it when a kid dies, whether it's a fatal accident, a terminal illness or being murdered by some psycho just to satisfy their bloodlust. The main reason I hate it is because they didn't get the chance to grow and live their lives to the fullest... Sometimes it makes me ashamed of being alive and not them.
Consoling villains is the fastest way to make me cry. Spider-Man doesn't hate his villains, if Rhino's depressed because someone died, that sucks dude, a hero would want to help. Hella nice
This reminds of of an episode of Spider-Man: The Animated Series where he takes a little kid with him in his adventures. The kid was a patient at a hospital for the terminally ill
reminds me of the real life story of Batkid. He was a real kid named Miles Scott. who had cancer. Like most young kids, he was given a wish through Make a wish. His wish to become Batkid and be Batman's sidekick. Since Batman was obviously fictional and it wasnt "put me in a comic" type of wish. Make a wish had their hands full to make it happen. But darn it they did. They made San Francisco (where he was from) into Gotham City. Had someone dress up as Batman. Get their own batmobile (a Lamborghinis, with decal) to patrol the city. But it wasnt just drive around. No they made events happening. -A damsel in distress tied up on the train tracks -Riddler robbing a bank (an actor in a riddler costume at the bank doing a bank robbery) -after lunch there was a flashmob for him doing "dont stop believing" -then he was made aware that the Penguin had kidnapped Giants mascot Lou Seal which led to a car chase which ended at giants stadium afterwards for his heroism Batkid was awarded the key to the city. thankfully the cancer has since went into remission
the "your friendly neighborhood" title that Peter have is heavier than people might think because he saved the most important thing in his superhero days the "humanity"
There was a comic I would hear often working in Puerto Rico, idk what it was but a local comic, low key a mix between green arrow and the question, where his alter ego is a confident wealthy millionaire in the tech industry, but his true personality is a closed off paranoid fanatic trying to uncover how his peers and business partners conspired to kill his family to make a totalitarian style government locally. It was actually really good.
Every time I see this comic show up in my reccomended I prepare myself for an any% speed run of bawling my eyes out. So far my record is 35.436 seconds
I did a long time ago on TikTok in under a Minute but I figured cuz I love the story. Why don’t I just Cover it again but the way I usually make Content on here!
No joke I can actually see Spider Bite being a real spider man in a alternate universe. In it where Spider Man is a vary young boy who is diagnosed with a critical condition and is given a Spider treatment.
I think, given the villains Spiderman faces, some of the actual Spidey Villains would actually help out with this. Green Goblin probably would, and I think i remember Rhino and Sandman doing something similar.
This reminded me of a strong gin I love to drink. It has a beautiful smell right before I even try it. The taste at the start is sweet and just how I like it, even if I know I’m about to die in a couple of seconds. The last part is just as wonderful and full of different colors. But when it all ends, damn… It hits hard…
The one I like is from justice league unlimited. Where Batman stayed with ace at her final moments. Waller gave Batman a device to killed ace since she already dying and her death will caused a shockwave that killed people in the radius. Batman took the device since he was the only one who is close to ace. Ace told Batman how Waller and the government made her into a weapon and stole her childhood, in which case, Batman can relate. Ace knew Batman wasn’t going to use the device. Ace asked batman to stayed at her final moments, because she was scared. Batman didn’t see a weapon or villain, what he saw was a scared little girl. He stayed with Ace at her final moment. This show Batman has a lot of compassion.
Like I'm a pretty strong guy but at the end of this I actually had a few tears, Like I haven't shed any tears in years I didn't even at my grandfathers funeral... haha I don't know what that says about me haha
This is why people love superheroes.
Not the powers. Not the action. Not the fights or complicated lore.
People love superheroes because of the heart.

Spider-Man is a real one. This man deserves so much more than he gets yet he keeps giving. He makes others live their best lives while he suffers.
Another one of my favorites is when Deadpool helps out a suicidal woman, really heart touching story
If there's one marvel character that can relate to being suicidal, it's deadpool.
