I was driving by there years ago, when they were filming the Flintstones movie. I was coming back from somewhere, and looked over and saw lights, and a big filming set up.
Wow! That is a stunning area! I'm sure in person it's even more gigantic! I wonder if those are lava formations? Who was trying to climb up there? Eek! lol. Great job Jeff! Thanks!
It sits on the San Andres Fault, so it’s the the tectonic plates moving that caused this formation. Anyone can climb up there if you’re not afraid of heights. You can get injuries for sure and easily if you’re not careful!!
Awesome photos. Awesome vid. Great EVH guitar geekery as usual. Have been thoroughly enjoying your interviews. You've done a stellar job chronicling the experiences of so many people close to Ed. I think he would appreciate what you are doing. You're helping to humanize a guy who was worshipped like a god for most of his life, but seemed like he just wanted to be treated like a normal guy.
Thanks so much! That’s exactly what I’m trying to bring out, the human side of Eddie. We have talked about everything else Eddie for decades, it make sense to try and add more depth to the normal guy he was. You’re going to like the upcoming interview with Tom Broderick. Tom was with him from 1968-2019. I was so excited to get their first soundman to document him. You will be getting more about who he was as a person and some unknown information that will be new to everyone. Tom hasn’t been interviewed since the Early Days Documentary.
Great shots! You know, I thought about getting a different date stickers to put on my own Frankie. Like my birth year or something. Or just go with the 1984 decals I’ve seen, since that’s when I got my guitar. Do you know why Ruben has the 1983? I thought maybe that’s when he got that guitar. That would’ve been really early on for a 5150! That looks really cool, great relic on that guitar.
Thank you Jeff,EVH foreverEVH ON TOP OF THE WORLD❤

They used footage from the episode for the movie Bill and Ted’s Bogus journey and even shot new footage at the same place.

Thanks! Because I believe that version of the guitar was used in 83 in South America.
A great episode was filmed there in a Bonanza episode "Between Heaven and Earth, with Michael Landon. EvH was a Bonanza fan too and Star Trek fan.
