Guitar Nut, Round it to break less strings

    I put new set of strings and G string is breaking again and again while tightening. It breaks at the nut portion. Should I try doing this?

      Maybe. If the string is breaking at the nut, then absolutely do this. There’s probably a bur on the nut. If the string is breaking somewhere else, then there is something sharp (really small usually but sharp to a tensioned string) that needs to be removed. Look at the hole through the machine head, it may have something to quickly file off; the saddle is another place to look. Hope this helps.

      @@repairmasterclass thanks it did work like magic, I smoothened with nail cutter and lubricated with pencil graphite ❤️
