2015 Seat Leon window switch replaced & door card removed

When the driver presses one of the switches, one of the two side contacts is disconnected from the ground (earth) and connected to the center power contact, while the other one remains grounded. ... If the switch is pressed the other way, then power runs through the motor in the opposite direction.

I just replaced the window switch. If I knew that it would be that complicated and difficult to replace I would never had started this. I needed more than 2hrs fo this shit. Every peace needed to be dismantled just for the small switch. A really bad construction.

excellent video. im from Norn Iron too. my car is under warranty for 6 months ive has it two weeks and this switch failed at the weekend.
just out of curiosity what would you charge for the labour and roughly how long would it take someone with your abilities to complete the work.

Glad you liked the video buddy, Id say 1hr max to replace the switch as the door card needs removed. If its under warranty it shouldnt cost you a penny. But main dealers charge a going rate of around £90+vat per hour. i mostly do these videos just to help people out or my students. if you have the correct tools you could easily do it.

Is it difficult to get the door panel back on? It's a lot of dismantling just to replace a relatively cheap part

No not really, just fiddling with it should be ok. Like most things with cars,have to remove numerous amounts of other parts to replace what you want. You will get satisfaction when all built up and working 👍

How did you removed handle/window switches from the clips on door card ?

There is about 15 t20 bolts holding the panel on at tge back of the doorcard

Water came down from the roof of my car through the front window and onto the driver side controls yesterday, immediately this problem started. Back 2 windows are fine, drivers side wont go up n down and the passenger side only goes up.. is changing the switch necessary or can you just dry out the controls with a hair dryer? lol

You could try it buddy but i couldnt confirm. If you know the pin locations you could put the window up with a 12v feed
