Volkswagen Window Switch Replacement

This video shows how to change a broken drivers side window switch in a 2012 Volkswagen Passat SE. The switch in the car had some window buttons that would get stuck. I found a new reproduction switch for the car on Ebay for $15. Please make sure you are ordering a switch for you specific car year and model. There are other switches that look the same but will not work. Also, some switches have the chrome tips and some don't. Make sure you see what kind your car has to order the right one. The only tool needed to replace the broken master switch is a small flat head screw driver. It should only take about 5 minutes to replace the switch. Just be careful to not crack the plastic housing the switch is mounted in because you will have to reuse it with the new switch.

This video is so helpful, and it saved me a couple hundred dollars ( parts and labor) versus $40.00 for the part. Completed in 15-20 minutes. FYI- For other viewers reading this comment,make sure you review the switch outer cover drawing online before you disassemble (using the flat head screwdriver) . The clip that slots the assembly in door, maybe be different for 2017+ golf and golf sportwagen.
