VW Passat 2012 and up driver window switch replacement

This is a video I made because I was unable to find one on how to replace the drivers side window switch bank regulator switch. Hopefully this will save someone from ripping off the door panel like I did.

Thanks for making this video! I was scared I had to take the whole door apart to fixe this. Same with me, the dealership quoted me over $200 to fix. $15 bucks on amazon for the part!!!!

Thanks, Man. I really appreciate you doing this video! Right switch ($208.25) & Left Switch ($72.17)= $280.42 , Plus $200 Labor. He said he would have to take the door panel off. Pure BS. I bought both switches from RockAuto or $52.68 and no labor due to your awesome video. Thanks again.

Thank you! This had been bugging me for two months, and after watching your video I removed the switch, gently cleaned the electrical connectors with compressed air, and boom: good as new. Thankful to save money where I can!

Thanks. It was a easy fix. My problem was my switches got wet and every time I rolled the window down the trunk would pop open. 😂

Thank you very much 😊. I just followed your instructions, replaced my switch and it is working absolutely fine. Unfortunately I applied a little more pressure while pulling that switch cover out of the panel and broke my switch cover latch connection. But its fine I somehow managed to put it back in place . So small tip for someone who wanted to do it yourself, be careful while pulling that switch cover out, insert a flathead gently and try to feel that latch and once you feel that there is some latch then push to your outwards. Do not push if the flathed smoothly goes deep in.

Thanks again. I fixed mine tonight. The one thing I'll share for anyone else who tries this. The $8 replacement switch would not fit on the VW wiring clip. The blue clip wouldn't fit over the post on the new switch. Rather than damage the wiring clip on the car, I broke the post off the $8 window switch. It seems to hold fine now, and we're good to go! Sorry you had to pull the door panel, but thanks for saving us the trouble!

My drivers side auto up quit working. Just the driver side... only up, auto down works.
I've seen 4 different ways to "reprogram" it. None worked.
Is it possible it's the switch? Window still goes up... just not auto

It may be something within the button itself? I’m not a mechanic or have anything to do with Volkswagen. This was my wife’s car- swapping the part resolved all my issues with window control.
