VW MK5/GLI/Jetta Driver's Window Switch Replacement

In this video I show how to replace the driver's window switch cluster. My reason for replacing it is because two of the switches no longer work properly. Removing the plastic trim can get frustrating but if you take your time and work it up gradually all around, you shouldn't have anything break on you. Thank you so much for this video - you were so calm during the process that it made me calm. Your instruction was very easy to follow and I did not get frustrated, even tho it took me about 30 minutes to do it. I successfully replaced my own switch and now I can roll up my driver's side window before it rains tonight! Not bad for a 61 year old woman! Thank you once again - you are Awesome!

This is the new Jetta. On the previous Jetta, this boat or control unit was fastened with self-tapping screws. I would have to remove the door trim, and there the clips that hold it often break.Good job, well done.👍👍👍

Just pulled it out after watching this, the switch pops out easy if you have the plastic fork style trim tool (2 sides with the upside down “U” in between) and switch popped out perfectly.
