    The "paint bucket" / fill tool exists in the Notes app, but I had to cut that part due to audio; you can see it action NeoReader section ( 06:42 ) as Onyx has included it in both places.

      My first stroke issue in Notepad was resolved in 3.3.2 update. It explicitly said the update was to address that issue.. 😊

      @alanang910 - Awesome! Did you have to ask for the update or did it just become available naturally?

    Thanks for the update! Nice to see these continued improvements to e-paper devices, but I got tired of waiting for these improvements to justify price and ordered an inexpensive TCL Nxtpaper 11 to hold me over until then.

      Yes, as far as I'm aware, they plan to make them backward through their line of devices. The 3.5 beta is already available on the B/W version as far as I've read so you likely aren't far away from stable releases!

    I always use One Note for my notes and have to say that it works quite well on the Tab Ultra C. Reason for me is that I'm also using a Surface Go3 and Galaxy Fold 4. All with a pen and I like to be able to have and alter my notes across devices. The only bug is that sometimes the text you're writing turns to light brown (barely visual) and wiht a refresh it become black. The only fix is closing and re-opening the app.
    I'm still very impressed with the Ultra C as a tablet that I do use almost daily for note taking or to do some light work. Especialy in the summer or in a bright environment e-paper makes work so much better.

      Same page! I also very much enjoy my Tab Ultra C and am still using it for researching, planning, and writing all of my videos. I see they potentially have an Ultra C Pro on the way with 50% more RAM + updated SOC + Android 12 Part of me wishes I would have waited a bit longer for that version!
      I also tested OneNote and agreed it does work quite well! It's not as "smooth" to me as the default Boox Notes app, but it is fully useable. I hope to use it more for the syncing into the MS ecosystem, but I am not embedded deeply there yet.

    Hi, thank you for your videos, they're great! I'm new to eink tablets and will be getting the BOOX Note 3 C tomorrow, and am really excited. I'm a big paper notebook userefir work and personal.
    Are you going to do a review of the Note 3 C? That would be awesome.
    Also, I'm very interested to hear how you us an eink tablet to write your notes, organize your day, life.
    Thank you for your time and videos!!!!

      Thank you so much for the kind words and taking the time to watch!! I hope you love your Note Air3 C! Please come back and let me know how it goes.
      I may do a review the NA3C eventually, but BOOX doesn't yet send me review devices.. and it's expensive to buy them all (especially when they release 6 new devices a year). I am likely going to upgrade my Tab Ultra C to the Tab Ultra C PRO first - because I would like the extra CPU+RAM and updated fixes.
      I am currently planning some videos highlighting my apps / workflow, and providing some tips for organizing life. I will likely have one or two ready shortly after the new year (I have A LOT of videos to make before then).

      The Tab Ultra C is quite good, buuuut maybe wait. =) Boox has a live stream tomorrow announcing their new line of products.. and as far as we can see from registrations, it looks like they may have a Tab Ultra C PRO model coming (with 50% more RAM and an improved chip - both things I feel this device needs - and Android 12).
      Even if it ends up being out of budget, I feel a lot of people will sell their TUC second hand to upgrade (and I might be one of them).
      Also, thanks for watching!

      If you navigate to Settings -> Feedback , you can submit a feedback quest there to ask for the update. I asked for the "first stroke bug update" and they gave me that and then I was just opted into the rest, but you can simply ask for beta firmware access AFAIK.

    • @aline.tech.reviews

      It works quite well! I think you will be happy with it. I love that it even works inside the NeoReader app for writing on PDFs.
      Biggest quality of life feature for me was the scribbling to erase notes. I've been striking through my notes (like I would with pen on paper) to avoid the hassle of erasing. These little shortcut gestures make everything feel so much smoother.

    • @AdmiralSym

      There is one thing that has been a huge headache for me. I use the marquee screenshot tool quite a lot for taking snips of text books to insert into my notes. I can insert one just fine but when I go back to my textbook PDF, i draw a new marquee to take a screenshot and it simply loads the last one that was taken. This means to fix the issue I need to insert the photo, press the back button, delete the screeenshot in the “editor” then take a new one.

      Thank you for taking the time to watch!
      It's very easy to use it as a wireless display (built in via Miracast or through a third-party app like Spacedesk)! There isn't much additional latency, so I find it's worth using.
      Trying to use it wired is more complicated and I haven't had a ton of luck getting it to go either way (PC->TUC nor TUC->PC). I've tried numerous adapters, including DisplayLink adapters. I feel like you will need a string of adapters/converters or a capture card to get it to work - which makes it not worth the effort IMO.
      You can also get something like DuetPro and run via USB-C which I've heard works (I haven't tried it myself).

      @aline.tech.reviews  11 месяцев назад +2

      Yes! In NeoReader, open your side bar and select the Menu option (its the one that looks like a bulleted list with 3 horizontal lines with dots next to them). In the pane that opens at the bottom of the screen, make sure you have Progress selected. Then, in that menu right above where Progress is, you will find Preview (4 hollow squares). Tap on that, and you will be brought to the preview area. Here, you can select your blank pages by using the checkbox in the top left of each page's prevoew box, then select Delete in the top right.
      Let me know if those instructions can't be followed, and I can take a video for you. You can go to my About page here on RUclips and click the button to see my email.. reference this post, and I'll record myself doing it on my phone for you.

    Especially interested in the continued security issue's which is the biggest hold-out for me, as I want to use this for my academic work an feeling that my data secure is key. Maybe this will never be possible with a Chinese-own company?

    • @aline.tech.reviews
      @aline.tech.reviews  11 месяцев назад

      I'd pose that it's debatable whether we can even get it from ANY (western) company. I think it's an area that the BOOX team has let fall to the wayside as they have a dedicated and loyal audience that loves e-ink.. but I think they are quickly seeing that to gain mass adoption they will have to provide a level of peace of mind to its users regarding security.
      I think their updates to Android 12 for the new devices and recent Android 11 security update suggest they may be headed in that directly.. but only time will tell.
      I would say holding out is a smart choice.. maybe wait 2 generations to see if they stay committed to the path of security and don't just lapse again.

      @@aline.tech.reviews Samsung tab s9 with paperlike screen protector and Concepts app. Concepts has snap to grid, and I can make the shape once and keep copying the sheets to reuse the shapes I made as template. Still not as good as old fashion drawing on paper but the ability to move, scale and rotate mistakes makes up for it. Would prefer colour e-ink to avoid bluelight but unfortunately the security holes, the lack of contrast, and no confidence in updates made me look the other way... for now.

      There is not! I have not modified the deive in any way (outside downloading the beta-level firmware).
      I have 2 versions of "screen protectors" that I hope to apply and test at some point in the future. I believe their goal is more to provide a more "paper-like" writing experience than protection.

    Have they fixed the eraser for the pen? Mine works 50% of the time. Super annoying?

    • @aline.tech.reviews
      @aline.tech.reviews  Год назад

      I have not had a problem with my eraser that I can recall (other than I have to press hard and swipe over the area), and I haven't seen that mentioned in their patch notes.
      I just did a test and can confirm it works for me in this 3.5 beta build. I do still have to actually press down to get it to register, but when I do that it seems to work 100% of the time that I actually touch something. I just ran a test multiple times with 30 lines on it and it seems to always get them.
      Do you have another stylus with an eraser around that you could test with?

    I am returning my tab ultra pro c because no palm rejection... there is a new firmware with this fix?.

    • @aline.tech.reviews
      @aline.tech.reviews  9 месяцев назад +1

      No "fix", the firmware/software update just added "gesture" options so you can toggle to turn on or off the different types of touch. It's much better than not having it as you can turn off touch control to avoid the random panning or touches as you draw or write, but it doesn't fix the underlying issue (and if you want to use touch, you have to re-enable them). Palm touches will still close the pop-up menus regardless of what gesture settings you have set because they don't seem to affect the overall UI.

      My guess would be YES - if not already, then in some fashion then not long after. AFAIK they all run the same OS + native software, they just have changes in the builds to support their various hardware. 3.3.2 was available for both devices - it would make sense for them to continue backwards compatibility.

    • @aline.tech.reviews
      @aline.tech.reviews  11 месяцев назад

      You may not need to now, as I believe 3.5 is released publicly for the TUC/pro models.
      To update, go to Settings and look at the bottom of the list for "More Settings". Then tap on the "System Update" option.
      If you still want to the beta, go to Settings and look at the bottom of the list for "FAQ & Feedback". Create a new feedback request and ask to be included in the beta teating program. A BOOX employee will respond, letting you know it's activated.. and then you can update via the same instructions I provided above.
      Let me know if you get stuck and I can help further!
