I think he could still become an All-Star level player if he got a fresh start elsewhere, the White Sox clubhouse is just a disaster. And his struggles are beyond clubhouse issues, but I'm sure a clean slate wouldn't hurt.
I still remember when we traded Moncada for Sale and I honestly wasn't too upset about it because I knew we were ready to compete and that prospects are never guaranteed compared to an established all-star pitcher in Sale in this case. I'm hoping he can figure it out because he's clearly talented, but being able to stay on the field is already the best ability you can have a professional athlete.
Trading an All-Star Left handed starter for a failed Boston prospect didn't make sense then and now is this trade looks like the worst trades in ChiSox history
As a white Sox fan I honestly think Yoan just doesn’t care enough about baseball to put in the work. He only likes the fruit that comes with it but not the work
agreed. fellow Sox fan (unfortunately). the two people asking “what makes you say that” it’s his body language. he constantly looks tired, bored, or just flat lazy. we’re so tired of the constant careless appearance and “nagging” injuries. it’s literally always something.
I’m a Cubs fan but heard a lot of sports talk people in Chicago talk about how amazing he would be. Kind of shocking how much of a bust he turned out to be. Maybe his long Covid affected him? Edit: it’s surreal that he was facing kidnapping threats just to showcase his baseball skills. Kinda sad he never reached his potential
As a white sox fan who's been watching since 2010 I can tell you what happened to Moncada. He's a lazy bum like the rest of the team. Once he got his guaranteed money why would he care to play hard? The white sox clubhouse is full of lazy players who cashed in early on their talents and stopped caring because the organization doesn't reinforce playing hard.
Well Dylan Cease still playing elite. And Luis Roberts had a breakout season. Tim Anderson took a step back and the rest of the team were either old or not talented. They traded their aging staters for a reason...
that's a front office and coaching issue not as player issue look what happened to the marlins after a coaching staff change went from having a 69 win season to 84 in one year with no major roster changes and our best pitcher regressing and getting injured if you want your players to play hard you gotta keep them motivated why be motivated when your team doesn't care
This video glossed over his decline in speed, which I think is one of the main reasons his career hasn't lived up to expectations. This is a guy who was supposed to steal 40+ bases, yet his career high is 12 and he barely steals 1 or 2 a year now. I'm not sure if the White Sox bad coaching discourage baserunning agressiveness or if he just got worse because of the injuries. Either way I'd like for him to be running again in order to be good.
Let's be honest he was a top prospect in the Red Sox organization and was traded to Chi town which was what brought Sale to Boston but he did struggle in his first few years with the club and never really recovered
Moncada is the player who hits homeruns and plays good when it doesn’t matter. He has it in him to be good, it’s just that the white Sox are a such a bad organization. If moncada were to leave the white sox, I think he’ll do better.
Let’s not forget. Moncada was one of the first players to come down with covid in 2020. I swear he hasn’t been the same after that. Just seems too injury prone now.
I was gonna say this. After he got it u could see how winded he would get. It's kinda sad because u could see it affected him. I had that shit too and I know it can screw u for a long time.
Mariners should steal. Send him to the driving line. Seattle can put him at 2B or 3B when needed. DH when the spot needs to be filled. He can strike out and fit in with the team well. It will cost little to get him as well. He has a bad contract, but Seattle can easily eat it up. He does seemingly need a new scenery
I think he’s got it in him to be a consistent all star. I think he needs a fresh start though. Him in Chicago has negative memories and he would benefit from a fresh start elsewhere.
The White Sox can’t do anything right and being a fan of this franchise is a curse. I stopped watching baseball because they made it horrible to watch. The fans deserve better after years of failure.
@dasbeard8891 haha yep I love that guy. Why do u think anyone would watch said episode? Seriously. The guy that makes these spends his time and wants views. My original post was saying this is a terrible idea, that's all. Not all this u love men or your the ex all that dumb shit. It was a terrible idea that's all
White Sox are just wasting talent now. It's sad when you see their roster or watch them, you know they have a lot of potential but they just fall flat when the moment matters.
Dude is extremely difficult to trade. No team wants to pick up a 8 figure contract for a player who is worth a fraction of that. Burger is in pre arbitration making league minimum.
White Sox moment
As a white sox fan
This is indeed a White Sox moment
So True
I think he could still become an All-Star level player if he got a fresh start elsewhere, the White Sox clubhouse is just a disaster.
And his struggles are beyond clubhouse issues, but I'm sure a clean slate wouldn't hurt.
Not to mention the quality of coaching too. He's gonna be the next Bautista I think
White Sox should trade Yoan to the Dodgers. I'd bet he would become an all-star and silver slugger with their coaching.
He probably would and that’s why I don’t want the Dodgers to trade for him lol

Redsox had another prospect along side Moncada which was Rafael Devers and Boston chose to keep Devers and trade Moncada.
As a white Sox fan I honestly think Yoan just doesn’t care enough about baseball to put in the work. He only likes the fruit that comes with it but not the work

It’s the total opposite of the Braves. They paid guys early and young but are getting the most out of them. It’s cliche but it’s about culture.
U totally don't sound like a Bridgeport idiot sox fan with that statement.😅

He was constantly blowing out his hamstring, to the point that it became a recurring joke.
Yoan has such a sweet swing I hope he can bounce back
It finally hit me. The narrator sounds like a comedian named Tony Hinchcliffe.

Moncada to the Rays for Jose Siri and a prospect. Moncada wins triple crown in 2024 with 65 homers
