I drive a small engine FWD MK4 1.8T 6 speed silver colour and its an awesome car. Bought mine 10 years ago and still love it. Mine has also been a restoration project. 90% done 😀
Bro this video hits home so hard for me, I started with a 1.4 mk4 golf s and have manged to upgrade to a gti turbo which I've had for 8years now, I remember paying £700 for mine on 112k miles, the money people ask are asking for these days is so shocking, don't know where this sence tax has come from but it's outrageous, loving the content and looking forward to the next instalment on this series 💪🏾❤️
I know how you started, and was a pleasure helping you as and when I could. I also remember the mk4 R32 rep 😂 was a nice looking motor. Need to catch up again when you've got some spare time
Followed you for a while now, my first car was a 1.2 punto, later went onto my second car a pd150 mk4 golf, bought it on 177k miles and it’s now currently on 260k miles, soon to be restoring it to factory colour as it’s rusty etc, going for an OEM kind of look :) really enjoy seeing you on RUclips, looking forward to the journey !!
Why not go for one of the kits that were being used at the time (other than Anni or R32) say Oettinger or Caractere. Also could upgrade the handling basics say with a rear antiroll bar, them move on coilovers and TT/R22 cast wishbones/hub conversion and a Quickrack then brakes. Then upgrade some interior parts, seats etc. (engine, re-map haha list can go on and on)
Had blue version same engine, VW specialist said not as good engine for tuning. Had good low down torque, but gutless above 50 mph and higher rev range generally. But loved GTi handling really responsive, standard wheels bit small though for higher speed grip. Good to see how long engine will last though. Someone else put about budget build be good.
Do a budget build but with parts which are cheap but solid enough for everyone. With the experience you have with the mk4 you sure know which cheaper parts still are very good quality and which one arent
Hey anton love this RUclips video such great idea brill for vw mk4 lovers your dream when was younger have r32 mine was the same can relate to this video so much be nice get looking like red r32 with r-line rear and center exhaust look looking forward to nexted few videos do on this build anton keep up great work doing 👍
Would love to see a video with photos/videos showing your old cars in order. Obviously would get a bit hard when you got to breaking/giveaways but could include rare cars maybe?
Do all your cars have original r32 bumpers or do you use something like srstec or switchhappy. If you used aftermarket bumpers how are the comparing to the oem?
It would be cool to see one of the rarer kits on this, and cloth recaros but retrimmed, don’t know how crazy you want to go it but it’s seems like the car scene has moved away from the ‘proper’ builds I used to love following on the forums when I was younger!
Clean it up as a nice stock gti, lower it, nice wheels and of course a 3.2 lump. Don’t see many nice stock looking gti’s, everyone does what you said either anniversary or r32 replicas.
I think the anniversary look on this colour is only way, and engine wise I would stick something new in mk7 gti engine or even gtd with dsg box then tune them 😂
Takes me back to earning £100 a week saving everything I have to buy lowering springs, paint cans and stickers, £18 tuning box on my 1.9 tdi ahu. £40 full leather interior from a breakers, what a time 🏆

They’re going up in value now, I recently bought a mk4 GTI 1.8T project.

Lowing kit, anniversary kit, exhaust kit and a map. Then in time do a 1.8t 225 conversion keep it cheap and fun!
Keep up the awesome work Anton!
Thank you 👊🏽

I loved my Mk4 GTI 2.0 - I'd love another.
Some decent 18s and a subtle lowering can make any mk4 look good 😎👍
I agree

Tidy it up for now & go oem + i.e lowered a bit more power & a set of age appropriate wheels

Go US spec !! Look at switch happy UK if you’re wanting to do it on more of a budget!!
Bro have you got any turbo manifolds for a vr up there bro
Euro spec with a BAM engine tt cast arms hubs etc

The way I dream of owning a R33 GT-R is mad… been wanting to get this car since 2005. I will have this car in my garage
Maybe because of the location distance that you get that low numer of vard
Mk4 first car crew 🫡 watching this one 👌
Oem+ is still the best way to go 😊
Keep it standard body kit but do something nuts in the bay like a v5 on throttle bodies. 😅😅
Haha that would be cool actually
@@antonlevelup it would certainly be different! And thanks, Ive now been window shopping for cheap 3 door mk4 golf's 🤦🤦
Loving this content Anton, you legend !
Thank you mate 👊🏽
cant beat a mk4 love mine
Need to build that's how it would of been done 10 years ago... Nice anniversary rep, ebay coil overs, bbs rc reps then do a tfsi bwa swap
That my thoughts to
@@antonlevelup nice red anniversary rep but using cheap available parts.. Bbs rc reps then a tfsi swap... Perfect mate

If you do engine swap it.. you should chuck a 2.0TSFI in it 🤌🏼
Good shout!
Anni front r line rear end.

Good times, now it’s £800 for tyres 😂
Max power it ❤
You should have bought a Diesel (TDI 150 or 130PD) - Petrol's are boring, apart from V6 4motion and R32
100% I’ll be doing a diesel project in the near future, already have it planned out 🚀
my mk4 golf has 255k miles at the moment!
12v vr6 swap…
You should know by now Anton never say everything is spot on with an old car on camera
First 😮
stop buying crap and finish the cars...
😂 I agree. But here we are, enjoy!
