Would love to see a video about your ideas for your car cards, your modified AAR codes as well as their reasoning and finally a short (not so short) “operation” putting it all together.
Thanks for the videos. 'Thu Grunge' actually inspired me to start building my first layout which I am hoping to begin building after the holidays frenzy is over, but it didn't stop me from make the first rough sketches. Ill be watching the rest of the videos as weathering is something that I really need to get a better grasp at (as if I didn't need with all the rest as I haven't touched a model in some 20 years lol). Anyway, thanks again and have a grand holiday season!
You have no idea how happy it makes me to hear that The Grunge inspired you to build a layout! That was the whole purpose of the series: show people that they don't need to wait to have space for a "dream layout" to get started. So glad to hear it's inspired you to get started! Keep me posted on your progress!
It’s okay to have the attention span of a squirrel as long as you’re not obsessing about your nuts. Lol. Squirrels are actually one of the busiest animals out there. Constantly working, I wish I had their work ethic but instead I have that procrastination thing or is what I have procrastination? It seems there is always something else that I have to do first before I can do the thing I want to do. At least you’re making progress.
I found that if you don't make the conscious decision to set aside time to do the thing you "want to do" there will always be *something* else that "needs" to get done first. Not always possible, I know, but if you plan the time out, it's easier.
I do plan to use the same car card system for The Grunge. That way I can move the cars back and forth between the two as if they’re part of a real interchange system.
I haven’t seen it in person yet, although the pictures and videos I’ve seen are amazing. I am friends with Ed on Facebook. He’s helped me out quite a bit with information on Baltimore and the Canton area.
Are you from Baltimore or Massachusetts ? your modeling my neighborhood I lived in Highlandtown/Canton I'm very familiar with Canton railroad and the grain elevator I used to work at the grain elevator. Just curious
Question for you, is it procrastinating or is it prioritizing? Enjoyed this update, I would be interested in further details on your car cards please. Happy Holidays. Cheers
Twiddling thumbs can be an important occupation. Considering you've just made an entire video about it 😁👍
By the by, grow that mouch already 😉
Slow progress, is still progress. Everything looks great!!!
Pronounce it pew-y'all-up. 😃 Lots of odd sounding city names up there in the pnw.
Thanks for the pronunciation help!

It’s in the video topic queue, for sure. But it’s not a simple one.

You are not procrastinating. You are doing side quests 😄

Awesome update. Great video. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Good update Joe. Priorities are always changing, so you always have something to do. Merry Christmas !!
Thanks, Joe! Merry Christmas to you, too.
Are you going to use car cards on The Grunge? These aren't a common thing here in the UK so it would be great to see a video on the system you use.

Excellent video joe, you mentioned the canton RR, Have you seen edward david's canton RR model Railroad?? He's on facebook..

Concerned that a truck terminal may be too
large? How about a truck stop
or a truck repair shop?
I’m really only afraid it will overpower the forced perspective I’m looking to achieve. But those are both great suggestions.

In the case of changing focus from Eastern Ave. to the bridge(s), prioritization. But there's still some procrastination going on in other areas. 😉
do you think you could do a video on how to weather hoppers?
I sure can. Covered hopped like I showed in the video or open hoppers?
