It does seem to me the BBC prefer showing repeated images of destroyed buildings in Gaza rather than fields of bodies in Israel. Apparently perfectly reasonable to describe Hamas attacks as atrocities so why not perfectly reasonable to describe it as terrorism. The story I read today of a father grateful his 8 year old daughter was dead and not being paraded through the streets of Gaza in a fate worse than death hit hard with me today. So try running less pictures of broken concrete and more interviews with the victims of Hamas terrorists

I think on the question of why support Ukraine but not Palestine it comes down to many different things, but for me personally it comes down to this: Do I support Hamas? No, and right now, in this current conflict, the two (Hamas and Palestine) are intertwined and inseparable in most people's minds. I've seen too many people shout Free Palestine in the comments section of a video where women and children are being deliberately targeted and killed. "Israel has done worse, their day has finally come!" That's your justification? The solution is more of the same? I'm sorry, I can't support either those actions or that thinking.
Collateral damage in any conflict is to be expected, it's tragic and to be avoided wherever possible, but I'm an adult, I accept that in any armed conflict it won't just be the armed combatants that do the dying. A bomb will hit the wrong target, or the right one, but some innocents will also be in that building, etc. I get it. I don't like it, but I get it.

The key difference with Ukraine is that were Russia to fully conquer Ukraine, there is no question that Russia will treat all Ukrainians with fairness and compassion - Russia views Ukrainians as basically its own wayward kindred who have been misguided by the West. Ukrainians were a core part of the Russian Empire, Soviet Union. There was never a separate "Ukraine" in all of history until 30 years ago. Russians won't be deporting any Ukrainians, won't be putting them in concentration camps. It will just be life as normal under a different government (or same as the "old" pre-Ukraine government). There is no similarity in Israel. Jews and Arabs *DO NOT* see each other as their own people. For them, it is literally a fight to the death over the same land. Israel has subjected Arabs to 7 decades of harsh repression, confiscating their land, killing and humiliating them with impunity. Jews and Arabs will do to each other what Russians will NEVER do to Ukrainians. There really isn't a comparison.

You think Russia just did what they did for funsies? I disagree with both invasions but I also understand both invading parties think they had to do it.
