Irish born and bred, the feeling we get with these traditional songs i refer to as "red headed rage" its a combo of an inherited adrenaline rush when a jig starts and a strange urge to fight the english
Great singing and an old great song! But, no farmers exactly. Maybe they were more of the anemic student boy choir kind. Viking greetings from Gothenburg Sweden.
EXCELLENT!!! i am a proud mick, and when i saw you were gonna play this song, i first poured me some Jameson's & then sang word for word with them (whenever we have a big family get together we all sing some songs from the old country, and this is one of them.) so let's hunt the hare and turn her down the rocky road
Hey Pat. Nice change. Really enjoyed it. Have you checked out Faouzia? 20 year old Moroccan Canadian singer songwriter. Anything from Stripped is good, maybe “Bad Dreams” or the more uplifting “This Mountain” Or her recent song with John Legend, “Minefields”. Quite a unique voice. Cheers.
This is really good, but it's still not a patch on the great Luke Kelly. He sang this song like nobody before or since. I highly recommend you react to this video ruclips.net/video/wtEKUWRpUWg/видео.html It shows above all other footage how incredible Luke was, because he accidentally sang the second verse twice, but still managed to use looks and gestures to acknowledge his mistake, and to signal to the rest of the band to carry on, all without missing a single beat.
It's a bit weak tbh, has to be Kelly, this sounds like posh middle class kids but it's a fighting Irish song, it was ok but a bit too craven sounding, it's a working class song and none of those soy boy looking types would survive even Ballymun here.
Man! Glad you enjoyed. Surreal seeing ourselves in a reaction video but we're not complaining! All the best 👊
Man, you guys sounded great!
You were brilliant ❤️
You are amazing and I’m going onto iTunes music to see if I can get your music
Glad to find a reviewer who waits till the end of the song before commenting and not keep stopping the video to talk all the way interrupting the song
This is one of those songs where you have to watch the singers not just listen to the song. Really enjoyed it!
I would’ve loved too be in the pub after they finished just too see and hear the reaction
The Ramparts are amazing. A Chamber Choir from Dublin.
Their sound is great.
@@PatrolNation I feel like Chamber Choirs are known for their sound.
Good version, but I grieved to hear it from anyone but Luke Kelly.
Wow, they are amazing!!! That really moved me. 👍💯

Er.... Dublin is a capital city not a field.

Wow!! What Harmony!!!
I was actually thinking the exact same thing about the guy that looked like Harry Potter.
Loved this!! More please. More Teddy Swims. New song my bad just came out he wrote.
I’m Irish. Best version of rocky road to Dublin I’ve heard. I would’ve loved to be there on the day
It sounds sooo epic in a weird way
Up the colors!
By the looks of you lad, with that big red beard, that's your country men, you look Irish. ❤
I was born in Scotland.
@@PatrolNationclose enough! 😂

The Stags Head Pub is also in Dublin off Dame Street.
Wouldn’t you have loved to have been in the pub that night?

Deadly irish forever!!!.
your face was amazing
That song is a beast to sing. This is a superb choir from one of the universities in Ireland.
It's The Ramparts, they are not linked to a University.
Listen to the original live version by the Dubliners
