Pure genius in retrofitting that old door and rescuing the antique hinges ,David ! Watching your previous video about getting the old hay baler to work again just leaves me in awe of your abilities. I have been watching since this couple purchased the property. They are a young couple doing their best to make their home better. A few negative comments have been creeping in lately. Not necessary at all, they are not professional tradespeople. If that is what you are looking for, best be elsewhere. Most of us enjoy this channel for its honesty.
I have also been watching from the beginning and you are so correct we are here to support a wonderful young couple doing it just like most of us and learning as they go so if you don't have positive things to say then leave.

Use a wire brush to remove the old paint and after that sandpaper to smooth out the rough surface! To seal the door you can spray it lightly with clear lacquer!
Great job. Don't think I'd bother repainting the door if it's only temporary, especially when you've got loads of other jobs to do. Keeping the cold out is the main thing and that's what you've done.

D & D, Another fantastic job. Well done. Since that door is a temporary fix, don't spend too much time on it. Seal it for drafts & maybe clear coat the existing wood. In my humble opinion, the patina on the door gives it a bitty of class. Dig the holes for your Christmas trees while you still can. Keep up the good work. Peace ✌️
Digging holes before the January deepfreeze is a GREAT idea The sooner they are out of the house and into the ground the greater the likelihood they will survive. ✅
I love the rustic door. Using the old hinges is genius! Like you say, a little sanding, wood piece filling and a door handle plate will spruce it up. Good job!
Maybe just put holiday decorations to hide the imperfections for now. When the weather breaks in the later months, maybe then you can attempt to strip it and put it into a final finish?
Happy to hear you mention flush floors Davide That is WONDERFUL planning ahead! You won't need triple glazing if you put a little bit of heat into your airlock foyer. 1:37 Dessy - I laughed out loud 😆 The handmade antique hardware is amazing. Perhaps you can use it on the new door? The opening is not as wide as I thought. What direction do you want the door you will build new to swing? I would use steel wool starting with coarse and finishing with fine and turpentine or mineral spirits [unscented] to scrub the door right in place. That will remove the dirt, smooth any rough spots, reveal more grain, the old paint will be more vibrant and prepare the wood for a topcoat. Use plenty of towels to wipe away the dirt. After a day or two of drying, brush on a coat of your normal wood finish or the countertop oil. I think the rustic "layers" of the door look great - a piece of history from the farm. You can stain the new wood to "tone" it similar to the color of the old door before you topcat, if you like. Remember to install the wooden door stop across the top of the door frame too. I would not bother with weatherstripping because it is a transitional space. Maybe you can re-use some of the old stripping. Not worth spending money for new. As a temporary step instead of the curtain, I think it's great. Now you're REALLY going to want a little heat in your airlock foyer to take the edge off the cold. ✅
I love the new door. Would some oil on the henge help with opening the door smoothly? Wood filler Would work for all the door to help keep out cold air. The blanket on the inside like Desy said will all so help with the cold air until you get it sealed better. Paint stripper might be just about the same mess as sanding it all off and staining it to match the door frame. It really does look very nice, great job David on hanging it and making the door frame look like it's done professional. Great job again David.

What a stroke of luck that that one piece of wood fit the frame! Doors are always trouble! I would sand both sides to get to the original wood, then stain. Dressy, you may want to consider creating a design with different stains. Maybe use some trim pieces to separate the colors.
