    I bought one last summer. It was so ergonomic. I just finished demoing and rebuilding my 12’ x 20’ deck. Used 4” Deck screws through treated 2x6 deck lumber. I used the second setting so I could easly keep the screwheads flush . I averaged 2 to 3 battery changes a day.
    I wish Dewalt chose to expand their 12V lineup .

    I have the full extreme line. As well as 20v impacts and some m12 tools to compare them to. The dewalt 12v extremes are my favorite tools. Just the right size and plenty of power for most jobs. I have 2 and 3ah batteries and see they now have a 5ah which would be good for the 3/8 impact wrench. We need more 12v extreme tools from dewalt.

    I started out in the installation world using a DCF815, the older 12v impact driver. I have upgraded to the 20v series in previous years but I still have that old impact driver and it works as good as the day I bought it. Driven screws of all kinds over the years and it never failed me. Interesting to see the changes DeWalt made going forward with the series.

    I'm on makita lineup. My wife said my tools looked beat to death. She ended up buying me a 20 volt brushless dewalt impact driver and drill kit. She really didn't understand I use Makita . I didn't say anything and told her I love it. The point I'm getting at is after I used the dewalts she bought me and fell in love. I literally never gave dewalt a chance because my dad always bought me Makita tools for birthdays. I now have dewalts newest high torque that as of now is the strongest 1/2 on market. I ended up with a multi tool from dewalt, 12 inch miter, and worm drive. Dewalt really makes some awesome tools. I can't remember model number but research it because dewalt has one 20 v impact model that burns up easy. I think those are mostly phased out now from big retailers. Thanks for the video.

    Hi Brad! You knocking em out with these videos! 👍 Lowe’s is running the promo whereby the 3/8 drill, 3/8 impact, 1/4 hex impact, or the ‘hacksaw,’ when purchased, includes the NEW 5.0 AH battery! Great deal everyone! I have personally used the 5.0, and despite the added size and weight, which is not bad, it is a game changer for this line. I took a freshly charged 2.0, and the new 5.0, and compared them back to back, in the drill, and the rpms were higher with the bigger battery. It is not earth shattering, but still a difference! One thing I have never cared for is the quick discharge and then abrupt shut off, with the 2.0 ah batteries. The 5.0 will likely stay on the drill. I hope they continue to expand and develop the Xtreme line. There is a ‘tough’ grease and grime resistant version of the 5.0 due to be released, along with an updated 1/2 inch impact wrench, so that tells me DeWalt isn’t going to kick the Xtreme line to the curb.
    Stay safe and Healthy! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😁✌🏻🇺🇸

    The thing about impacts is that I cannot tell if I am overtightening, since it just continues to pound. With a regular driver, I can at least feel when its getting tight enough and stop. I understand why you would use an impact if the regular driver cannot get the job done, but I see so many carpenters using impacts for everything, even when a regular driver would be good enough, and be much quieter. So why the obsession with impacts for smaller screws?

    • @matsudakodo
      @matsudakodo 2 года назад

      I'm wondering the same. I can see saving money and just using the impact for everything as one reason.

    • @fiercefix
      @fiercefix 2 года назад

      The impact is a cut above drill, drill/driver or electric screwdriver for pretty much everything apart from drilling metal . Less gailing on the fastner no torque reaction to tire out hand/arm more compact. The over tightness you are experiencing is due to operater error, keep with it and you'll get the hang of releasing at the right point & featheing the trigger to snug it just right practice makes perfect.

    • @matsudakodo
      @matsudakodo 2 года назад

      @@matsudakodoswap out the the fastner bit for a drill to pilot the hole & switch back although the impact can drill with appropriate drill bits now readily available it's not going to totally replace a drill & bit for removing material. If your on the job site or kitchen fitting you'll most likely have a small drill set up ready to go with your pre drill & the impact driver with the fastner likely pozi2 bit next to you also. Double trouble !! Also if it isn't driving in stop quick Sharpe before the faster snaps if it's pulled and spinning then it's next size up fastner...

    I personally think the DeWalt is the best 12 volt impact on the market. I do not like Milwaukee 12 volt because the tools are to fat and not comfortable. I built a 20X40 ft deck and used 3 inch screws a lot with mine and it never bogged down and the battery life was good for the size. It drives Tek screws super well. If you use big lags it’s naturally not going to be the best. It is strong enough for most jobs and very comfortable.
