If you make any intended collider a passive nMesh (select object and go nDynamics > nMesh > Create Passive Collider) it should collide with the voxels in the fluid container.
My problem might stem from the same place as Mie F. I'm trying to render in mental ray but I my problem specifically is that when I check the texture opacity box nothing changes the way it does in your setup. Any help?
I'm not seeing the effect of switching on 'Texture Opacity' in the viewport, do you have any idea why this would be? It's looking correct (i think) in the render window though... Thanks.
hi, is there a way to interact with the fog, like put a field wind or turbulence? , i like the look it gives the texture but this way i can not make a turbulence field , is there a way to do it?
Can you give me a support ? The expression occurred error, a message appears: ------------------------------------------------------------------- expression -s "fluidShape1.textureTime-time*.2" -o fluidShape1 -ae 1 -uc all ; // Error: // // Error: Syntax error // ------------------------------------------------------- Where did I go wrong ?
enabled texured viewport 6 to see the effect of the textured opacity
hello, do you mean the unchanged effect when sliding 'Texture Time"?
If so, could you said more specific please ?
Kai-Jui Tsao no. it's just the fact that you can't see the textured opacity without enabling textured viewport. caught me out for a while first time
thanks for ur reply I think I ve fixed it out!
Thank you so much kind sir, it works!
You are a hero, thanks m8
This was exactly what i needed. Thank you very much for the great tutorial.
This is just what I have been looking for!

it crashes my scene :/

Doesn't change when I tick 'Texture Opacity' and doesn't move either when sliding 'Texture Time'

Nice and short
Nice video, made it in maya 2017 but I cant seem to see it when I render it with the arnold renderer. Do you maybe now why is that ?
hey, same problem. did you a solution since then?
Gatien Becker Has the problem been fixed bécasse i have the same problem
How could you render when fog rolling? Please help me...
nice tutorial, thanks man
does it react with objects? good job!
thanks for sharing
why would fog be rollign accross the water?
thats how fog works ?
after it leaves the high altitude
But there is one problem. I cant render it in Mental Ray. Why?
I rendered in mental ray just fine,its not posteffects or optical so it should work as far as I know
Love it.
Thank you so much sir.
can we render it into mental ray...?
you know where i can make it collision enable ?
Could any kind soul out there share a maya scene with this in it? pretty please?
Thank you,
not right, at 2:48 the opacity is not the preset values.
Thanks !!!
thks dude
Can you give me a support ?
The expression occurred error, a message appears:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
expression -s "fluidShape1.textureTime-time*.2" -o fluidShape1 -ae 1 -uc all ;
// Error: //
// Error: Syntax error //
-------------------------------------------------------
Where did I go wrong ?
just change - for equal = after Time .....so it suppose to look like this " fluidShape1.textureTime=time*.2 "
Thank you for the answer and happy life, believe me!
