Finally, someone competent did it more or less how I've always imagined! Many people find Schubert's version superior, but I just love how Erkönig parts here are more like a breeze of treacherous wind. I also much prefer how the final notes here are more abrupt and dark (as they should be, considering the death of a son), when Schubert's ending isn't bad, but the "dum-duum" at the very end always makes me laugh because of how banal it sounds.
