    DO NOT TAKE IF:
    Taking Sedative medications
    Pregnant or breast-feeding
    Suffering with Enlarged prostate
    Or Narrow-angle glaucoma
    Before or after surgery
Allergy to ragweed & related plants
    www.webmd.com/vitamins/ai/ing...
Sedative medications (CNS depressants) interacts with WILD LETTUCE. Wild lettuce might cause sleepiness and drowsiness. Medications that cause sleepiness are called sedatives. Taking wild lettuce along with sedative medications might cause too much sleepiness.
Some sedative medications include clonazepam (Klonopin), lorazepam (Ativan), phenobarbital (Donnatal), zolpidem (Ambien), and others.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding: Not enough is known about the use of wild lettuce during pregnancy and breast-feeding. Stay on the safe side and avoid use.
Enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia, BPH): Don't use wild lettuce if you have this condition. It contains a chemical that can harm people who have trouble urinating.
Allergy to ragweed and related plants: Wild lettuce may cause an allergic reaction in people who are sensitive to the Asteraceae/Compositae family. Members of this family include ragweed, chrysanthemums, marigolds, daisies, and many others. If you have allergies, be sure to check with your healthcare provider before taking wild lettuce.
Narrow-angle glaucoma: Don't use wild lettuce if you have this eye condition. It contains a chemical that might make glaucoma worse.
Surgery: Wild lettuce can affect the central nervous system. There is a concern that it might cause too much sleepiness if it is taken along with anesthesia and other nerve-numbing medications used during and after surgery. Stop using wild lettuce at least 2 weeks before a scheduled surgery.

    www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/arti....
L virosa has been found to contain lactucic acid, lactucopicrin which is amorphous, 50-60% lactucerin (lactucone) and lactucin. Lactocerine is the main component of the lactucarium, which is a neutral insoluble material.
Lactucarium is a diuretic, laxative and sedative agent which relieves dyspnoea, and decreases gastrointestinal inflammation and uterus contractions. It has anticonvulsant and hypnotic effects as well. In addition, the lettuce contains traces of hyoscyamine, which is probably responsible for its sedative effects. Before the Victorian period, wild lettuce was well known as a painkiller and sedative.
    --
    www.healthline.com/nutrition/...
While many natural healthcare companies and homeopathic websites promote wild lettuce as a pain treatment, scientific evidence is lacking. Few human studies have examined wild lettuce and pain relief. However, some animal studies suggest that the compounds in wild lettuce extract may have impressive pain-relieving properties. For example, a study in mice demonstrated that at doses of 7 and 13.5 mg per pound (15 and 30 mg per kg) of body weight, lactucin and lactucopicrin, combined, had comparable pain-relieving effects as 30 mg of ibuprofen (6). However, animal studies on the pain-relieving properties of wild lettuce are limited.
Studies do show that other types of sesquiterpene lactones from the Asteraceae family are effective in reducing inflammation, which may aid certain conditions, such as asthma and arthritis.

At a ratio of about 30g of chopped plant material to enough liquid to cover plant material cover with cling film.
(I’ve found using a glass or Pyrecs bowl with a base of around 4/7inchs idle)
This will help for max extraction.
After 24 hrs remove old plant material add another 30g of material then repeat until all plant material is finished.
To kill off the bitter chlorophyll taste and greeness,
once finished put the cling filmed covered container in direct sunlight until the green Chlorophyll has been killed off.

Thanks for sharing! I just found some of this today and holy crap is it strong! It's 8 feet tall and just about to flower where I live, the leaves are huge, like a foot long. I just chewed on some of the leaf pieces and I immediately had less back pain. I had a lot of energy for about an hour, then honestly felt a little high, then super, super sleepy. It was so strong I'm honestly a little weary to even work with it lol. I'm going to dry some for teas. I could see this being used for a fever and aches that come with a cold. I would be really interested to use it as a balm...

I cut some leaves off on Thursday 1:12:2022 steamed them collected the juice and used that as a blend with ACV and mineral water(MW). No more than two desert spoons each and a full glass of MW Used it over the week end. masked my neck and hip pain till yesterday when I ran out. YES I did sleep well, first time I have slept for nine hours in fifty years (I'm 66) Then I used the leaves in a soup and two stews. It looked just like spinach. Didn't even notice the taste. I threw nothing away. Aout to make a new batch but will try a different method. First I must visit D. Murphy's lol [столичная бода ] Stolichnaya Vodka lol. Tart cherry extract. At the onset of symptoms I take about eight caps at once. It will usually knock it back. I keep going until I'm certain I've dodged it.
      There's pharma, like allopurinol, too.
But the best thing at the beginning is to walk. I know about elevating the inflamed member above your heart. I did that in a chair for three months. You can sleep that way, but you have to walk. Your calf muscles contract and help with circulation. If it's late stage, like yours, it's too late. The swelling immobilizes your foot for a good reason: to prevent joint damage from the grinding crystals. Next time, get proactive and walk it back.

Hello! Thanks so much for this tutorial. I wish I had found your video before I tried another method. Per the instructions on another video, I chopped up the prickly lettuce and used 91 % isopropyl alcohol to extract the milk. I covered the mixture with cheese cloth and then removed the plant matter from the liquid. I let the liquid sit outside with the cheesecloth covering to let the alcohol evaporate. I was then going to use the slow cooker method to thicken the extract. Unfortunately, because I have been preparing for a family reunion, I forgot it was on the porch and it has been sitting there for 2 weeks. Is the tincture bad r can I still use it? It still has an alcohol order to it. Looking forward to your response.
    Thanks!

I thought I had wild lettuce. I made a tincture. I took one tsp. I got an instant stomach ache and bloody stools. You can buy wild lettuce seed. I would suggest that. You also can use domesticated lettuce. Just let it go to seed, so it gets bitter. That's where the RX comes from.

    • @MyButtercup
      @MyButtercup 3 года назад +5

Generally, you take only a drop or two. A teaspoon may have been too much. Be careful introducing wild lettuce to your yard, it can be an invasive weed. One plant was plenty of leaf growth for personal use. Garden lettuce has plenty of good stuff, but no pain-relieving properties that I know of.

You have to do some experimenting with the doses. With this type of medicine, you won't know how strong it is until you do the test. I suggest you do the test on a Sunday afternoon and your not home alone.

Omgosh... Bad info on this video.. the medicine takes at least 6 wks... And there is NO need to blend ANY plants.. the alcohol itself knows how to extract the benefits from plants chopping with scissors is more then enough... Theres no need to massacre a plant... You add your alcohol to ur plant, to the top as air doesnt oxidize it.. store it inna dark place. U dont have to shake it once a day, either. But to let it sit no less then at least 6 wks, you got only alcohol tasting plant..... Plz dont follow this it is wrong...
