Those are lekke sizes for light tackle. One thing with kingies when they cruise or feed in estuaries, never cast into the shoal, always try and lead them with the lure. Also, try not to cast passed them as naturally baitfish will not swim towards them, they will always be in front of them and swim away. If the water clarity allows you to see the fish follow the lure, especially with bigger fish, by slowly increasing the speed of the lure once the fish follows will entice a bite. Tight lines
Thanks Hydi, all makes perfect sense. Unusually with these particular shoals landing directly on top of them seems to result in a reaction bite leading to by far my most hook ups. The most perfect casts they just ignore. I guess with fish we just never quite know
Hi Dayalan unfortunately I dont do tours but the one dude that fishes with me is busy setting something like that up. Try hook up with him on facebook, Leslie Hempel. If you dont come right let me know and I will send contact details.
Hi Bjorn, I have upped my braid from 10pd to 20pd due to excessive wear with the thin braid. I use Berkley whiplash. The reel is an Okuma ITX 3000H. Rod is an Assassin Supernova 7.7 MH. Ryan was using a quantum Smoke 3000 paired with a Shimano SLX 7ft rod. We caught the fish on Rapala twitching mullet and standard quarter ounce fork tail dropshots.

Hi Andre, where did you get the Power knob and handle?
Hi Peter, those particular ones I got on Aliexpress a few years ago though I recently bought one for my Saragosa at our local tackle store, Bilimoria
Buddy is this still the okuma itx reel?
Hey Ricardo, I use an Okuma ITX on my one rod and a Shimano sustain on the other rod, both with power handle knobs added.
Hi could you give us a run down of the tackle and lures used?

The knob on the handle is different
I added power knobs to both my reels. My buddy, Ryan, used a Quantum smoke with no power knob.
@@FISHINGTHEWILDCOAST would love to get that power knob for my itx
@@ricardomoodley2466 Got mine online on ali a while ago but bought one recently at Bilimoria for one of my larger reels.
