- In this episode I go on a solo fishing mission to catch a large Garrick/Leervis in the Umzimvubu river estuary at Port St Johns using light tackle and artificial lures. As always the river provides some quality fish that are challenging to land on my own. Fishing from a small boat and casting bucktail jigs with thin braided line, join me for this adventure...

I just want to say thanks for sharing I've learnt alot from your videos and I'm a newbie to the bucktail lure I recently purchased a couple and it worked I was shocked at how effective they are. I'm an old bait fisherman converting to lures. Your videos have inspired me to change to lures. Thanks again I dream of a port st John's fishing trip one day tuning you from cape town.
thanks Damien, its awesome you are having some positive results. Those yellowtail are in your backyard.
I just came back from psj on Thursday. It was sad to see the guys jigging and doing it in the day with no worries. Manage to get myself a decent kob of 12kg. Would've been nice to join you on the boat hey
Awesome thats a good fish. I also came back Thursday. A few good garrick and some cob.
