Still only 18, made 104 out of 258 all out in the Shield today, against good bowling attack including Nathan Lyon on a tricky wicket, sort of innings that makes people stand up and take notice.

People will always give grief about bowling machines. Setting up half volleys outside off you pretty much are waiting for it and it is not hard to face. Played to a high level back in the day. Represented National U17, pro'd out in Australia and faced these set machines regularly and it is not as scary as it sounds. However random bowling at this speed - short, swing, yorkers bouncers etc is a whole different gravy. It really is terrifying. THis lad looks like he is gonna be a great cricketer when he is 19/20

I don’t think batting technique is really very important
I mean you do have to adjust your technique to face different balls yes but overall i think batting technique should be something that is natural

Steven smith and chandrapaul have really very weird batting style

Its tougher to face machine bowl 100mph than to face bowler. Any seasoned cricketer can pick the length of the ball as soon as it is released and can guess if its short or full. But in machine you have to wait more to know where it will pitch. Good job buddy.

Those who are hating on the kid, have no idea how fast 161 is. Same spot or not, you can tell the way he is middling the bat, got some solid technique. Footwork is decent too. I would be afraid to face a ball at such speed. Reflexes start coming into play when the ball is touching 130, we are talking about 160. Kid can go far.
