Just bought it a month ago and this OM5 is my first smartphone gimbal. I'm using iphone 13 pro max and it seems the weight of the phone is a bit too heavy for this gimbal. So i have to put off my case if i'm using this. At first i try to shoot and its bumpy all around. After few days scourging different kind of forum, i found that if you record after using MIMO auto track, there's a possibility that the gimbal will go shaky. So i tried to record first then using auto track. No shaky video after that. As an ex DJI pocket 1 & 2 user, i pretty happy with the result, as long as you don't use it on windy environment.
@@qaecobitv2295 Depend on the content actually. Pocket have better gimbal quality so its better for action camera. But i flip to OM5 coz it easier to take sefies with retracable stick and my iPhone 13 pro max have cinematic video which suit better for my family video esp. for my toddler…

One thing that reviewers dont talk about is that they lowered the size of the internal battery and you cannot charge youre phone anymore using the usb type A port like on the OM3 and OM4.
the rotating joint that you talked about in the beginning..in my gimbal it keeps rotating even in the lock mode...like it wont stay at one place. how can i fix it?

I upgraded from the 3 to the 5. My decision was based purely on size. This is much easier to travel with - being smaller, lighter and more compact. I use this one a lot more. I tend to take it to more places because it’s so much more convenient.
Great video. I just bought the DJI after having the Smooth 5 for a week and returned it. Being on an Android S10Plus not as many options. Hands down so happy I just picked this up. The software actually works with all the functions on the DJI. Love the size actually like the selfie stick. I will say the joystick on the Smooth 5 you could really do fine movements. But if you can't use it out of the box because you don't have an iPhone, what's them point? Great suggestion regarding the bag, and I will say I did like the Smooth 5 hard case. 7:33 I use a number of gimbals for my dslr and phone and i think all gimbals require for you put in some effort like the "ninja walk" to get a smooth footage.
Great video I didn't see any others saying limitations of om 5 But... I think there is a lock for folding it. I seen that in many other videos and you are saying that there is no lock. Soo please check it conform
The arm indeed does not lock in place when the gimbal is folded and will swivel out of place when the device is tilted to the side. On AliExpress there are caps you put over the top to prevent this from happening.
Why no one mentions the magnet attachment not fit with the case on? Isn't it a big issue? I'm a iPhone 13 Pro user and can't find a way to attach it securely without removing my case.

I can’t find a secure way to do it so I’m using it without the case. What is bothering me is no one mentions it in the review videos. I want to know if all products are the same or I could get a better one if I’m send it back to DJI. Try to find reviews using 13 Pro but looks like most of them using the case on without problems.
I am not a techy person… i just bought this dji om5 i connect it to my bluetooth ithought it is good to go but i can’t use it because there is a pop up that says enable ypour gallery so i go to the settings but it doesn’t work all the apps that i give access to my gallery are there but i can’t find mimo… i give access to almost allthat it asks me… i am confused by the way i have iphone12 pro max
My biggest complaint about the DJ app is that its fonts and icons are way too small. With the selfie stick fully extended I can barely see the prompts on the screen 🤳

Hey! 1) I would not advise anyone to use a gimbal in the rain, there might be some amount of water resistance but it was never meant to be used in wet weather. 2) The back cover (depending on the thickness) might be an issue for the clamp, there is a thickness guide in the support documents for the gimbal that you could check out. 3) Yes you can, the main motors and rotation axis are at the end of the extended selfie sitck 4) I have not tried that yet but I wouldn't take power form my gimbal as it would be harder to charge than a phone. hope this helps :)

@@ayyokadavuley3386 I don't think there is a gimbal for any type of tablet because they are too big and heavy, which would exacerbate the poor wind resistance seen on smartphone gimbals. Also, the camera quality on tablets is usually very poor and not usable for serious filming.

I believe DJI has a list of compatible phones on their website.

I got caught in the rain with this gimbal, and it killed the battery. After 2 months of owning this gimbal, I’m now on the market for a new one.
