The apartment building I stayed in for most of my semesters in college had an old system with white and gray bells and the pull stations were some kind of Couch pull stations with glass rods.
@@GaryBeltz My aunt's high-rise was originally built in 1971 with an old Couch system, with mostly the F1G "Chevron" pulls and some of the larger coded-style ones (but not coded) and Federal Signal Vibratone 350 horns. In the 80s, they put in an Edwards panel with ESL smoke detectors rebranded by Edwards. Then in the 90s, they upgraded to some kind of conventional Notifier panel, keeping most of the smoke detectors and pull stations (albeit lowered to an ADA-compliant height) but replaced all the old horns with Wheelock MT4-24-WM horn/strobes, and MIZ-24-LSM horn/strobes in certain apartment units. Everything came out in the summer of 2018 for a much-needed upgrade to a fully-addressable Notifier NFS2-3030 voice-evac system, with the new L-series speaker/strobes, remote speakers and strobes. My aunt says this new system is so much better than the 90s Notifier/Wheelock system!
There was an old medical center in my city that had an S. H. Couch system with those remote lights, but the audible alarm signals were old-style Federal Vibratone 450 horns. Unfortunately last year, the building was demolished in favor of a new medical center that utilizes a Notifier system with boring SpectrAlert Advance horn/strobes...
I don't think they should be using either of those two sets of horns in a medical facility except for generator and machine rooms where chime strobes or speaker strobes may not be heard.
With the new medical center it's possible, but I doubt it. It seems for non voice-evac systems, the norm nowadays is to use SpectrAlert Advance horn/strobes, or its' replacement the L-series (which sounds like the Advance but is a tad softer.)
I'm familiar with that myself. I heard it back in my days as an intern at the hospital in Kearney when making deliveries and swabbing stairwells. Especially when swabbing stairwells.
I hear one of those hospital room pagers. Brings back the good old days when I was an intern at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Good times. Gooooood times...
The hospital I had a maintenance internship at had a huge Simplex networked voice-evac system for the most part, with a mix of devices from the 80s to the present, but the radiation therapy wing had Space Age 2DCD+AV32 horn/lights, and the family suite wing had TrueAlert horn/strobes!
Wow! This must’ve been an old Couch system at some point considering the Exide Couch Bells and remote lights. Great video!

@@safetech What is the strobe model?
0:59 - I hate it when that happens...
1:25 - Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you're supposed to show us that...

Wow, a hospital with bells and truealerts. You don't see that very often

Hey, what camera do you use? It’s great quality and the audio is great as well. It doesn’t get all distorted and weird when the alarms are going off
What was that chiming throughout the video
Do I hear TrueAlert Eletritc Horn-Strobes And Mabye Horn-Onlys in the backround?

Bells and horns in a hospital really

Reminds me of Twoplyboy
Do you know what panel and other equipment the Simplex system replaced? those remote lights don't look like Simplex equipment to me.
They aren’t. And no I’m not sure.
Are those lights remote Simplex 4050-80s?
Not Simplex; they are Exide/Couch remote lights.
simplex 4005
I was gonna guess either 4005 or 4010
Gary Beltz no it’s definitely a 4005
Great Video! :)
Was that a Medical Building?
Evan Bart 410
