Hello, Nice work! I was thinking that you could grind a few mm off those tubes too before you got to explaining that you were going to do it. I would have ground them down too. I've seen polyurethane bushes die quickly, I always search for rubber. I wonder if strengthening the bushes can help or aid in cracking the arms. Can't wait to see how the front end goes back together. I'm doing the front end on my ZG fairlane, Had to spend a whole day on the gurney just to be able to touch it.
G'day mate I have had earlier nolethane bushes absolutely desinergrate In fact if you look at part 2 those super pro bushes in the rear suspension replaced failed nolethane The super pro bushes are still in the car which is complete and has done 2k plus on the road Sadly super pro we're bought out and all the major bush companies are one and made overseas 😢 All the best with your build Blue
Your dogs are gorgeous , correct me if i am wrong the old brain dont work as good as it use to on the XR_XY series upper control arms the pivot bush rod end were threaded and a screw cap on the end with a greaseable nipple i could be wrong if so ford went away from that idea love your videos helps fill in my day i like your idea welding the washes in for strength and a nice coat of black epoxy paint anyway enough babbling on cheers
I think that your brian is working fine mate the grease nipples were fitted all the way to XB I remember them being fitted to my mates XB GT coupe Cheers mate 👍
A lot of people have changed their opinions on the newer girlocks due to heat stress. Ive never done the upgrade so wouldnt know. Not that i trust the old brakes enough to push too hard anyway.Good vid Blue.
Cheers mate I have been using the girlocks since 1999 on the car the big difference i recall after fitting them was the thing braked in a straight line compared to the cast one's Cheers for your comment Blue
