i just got one the other day and I'm a size 13, it feels great
I have the nickel, and I'm a size 11. I love it! It's my favorite board I own!
I've watched like 50 of these videos today while deciding whether to get one.
This video has been the most fun of all the ones I've seen.
i use it to go to the store, park, and cruise around my block :)
Dayummm, I can't wait for my Nickel to arrive at the shop! I still gotta wait for two weeks, so Idk why I'm torturing myself with videos like this. I wear size 9's and I'm 5"7, but I reckon I'll prefer the Nickel over my classic Penny since its size is almost the same as a regular skateboard.
Most likely man, It will take 12 or more days depending on the method of shipping, I got something sent from the states via express and it took 12 days.
yes, i got it as a beginner and its was really good when i cruised round for a beginniner
I've just ordered a 27.5 inch cruiser , happy that it's a good size because I didn't really know how small it would be
You could go either way man... it is all about what is comfortable for you. I like the 27 inch nickel cause I like to do tricks on mine and it is easier for me than on the 22 inch penny. However, if you just want a light weight board that is fun to cruise on the penny would be fine. I like to 360 flip mine and skate quarter pipes and stuff with it.
@wishuponstaries no not at all, 27 inches Is a decent size board in most cases and in addition you get the benefits that come with a penny (water resistant, flexible and malleable as well as a very smooth ride)
i put bones reds bearings on my penny nickle. the origianal bearings are ABEC 3 bearings. it goes super fast for a super long time.
The direction of your board thing, think of a ship, would you prefer your steering mechanism to be at the back or the front of the ship? front meaning the full back of the ship is trailing behind, back meaning you have full control of the ship in front of you
I'm a size 9 and the penny is fine, however it took me about half an hour to get used to the smaller deck.
@Julie Ragen I'm a size 8 and a half and both boards are fine I like the nickel though. :)
its realy fun to cruise woth the nickel and this video was funny
I want one now!
I did the same... I live in Argentina and it is difficult for me buy one at a good price here, I should but one in usa through ebay
I want one! now!
cool story, I think we all personally see pushing mongo on the same level as skating without a helmet... Honestly though... to each their own. We find it interesting that it is accepted and encouraged in the world of downhill/freeride/longboarding but that doesn't mean it is wrong. I think all of us are older 20+ and so we grew up on street decks and in that whole community, where pushing mongo is highly highly discouraged.
can t wait my!! I just order it last night!
Your music: YES.
your riding: YES.
You live in Portlland! Omg. I am jelly .-. I love the weather up there
yeah elliott smith!!!
Ah can't wait until mine comes in the mail!
im getting a nickel but dont know what colour deck to get but one thing i know for sure is that im going to use some old denim as griptape
@Will Davidson this is because you have an original one like on the first advertisment with the yellow and blue boards. Does yours have kind of see through red or blue wheels? These original ones are the best and now penny have ruined them by changing the wheels and quality of the deck. Nickels are new ones that have the same bad characteristics and are the only ones that have been exported. I had an original until it got stolen but im not going to by a new Penny.
That was cool ! :)
But I still don't know if I want the Original or the Nickel..
HELMET!!!!
Do you think that the 22'' regular penny is better? I have size 10 feet and I don't know whether it would be better to go for the nickel?
what would be easier to do tricks on, the penny or nickel? I'm a size eight in shoe size (u.s) and weigh around 110 pounds. Thanks
i am just wondering, i have about size 7 feet so would you recommend the penny or nickel? i am experienced in skateboarding so no worries about beginner issues.
can you gat a razor tail on a nickel board and are those stickers on the top of the deck and do they stay on???
Do you recommend the Nickel or the Penny? My shoe size is 9 1/2 and I just dont know which one to get? Help!
The bushing closest to the deck on my nickel keeps popping out and hanging over the truck. This makes the trucks crooked. Is there any way to fix it?
if you go to the Penny website, theres a store locator.
Soo.. Just wonderin if i got a problem? Part of my bushings (the coneish shaped one on both trucks) pops out from under the washers? is it bad or just normal? PLZ CAN SOME KNOWLEDGABLE ABOUT PENNY OR SKATING HELP!!
thx all
K, thanks man. I think I'm gonna go with the penny.
Where did you get yours?? zuimez, jerics, other skate shops? if so how much?
Where did you get yours? zuimez, jerics, other skate shops?
@ChuckNorris5011
I know someone with both and he says they're both fun
Streets are so wide in the US :T The UK's are proper tiny...
Im size 8 uk shoes and wanted my first penny board. I want it relatively easy to ride and i want it to look great. I was more towards the nickel but i was wondering if it is relatively heavy and portable
Thx!!;)
i got size 13.5 and its fine
Damn I really need to get me one!
Totally. You can't control the direction of your board you push mongo, at least nearly not as well as you can when you push normally. I am actually very surprised that there are people out there who encourage pushing mongo lol. I mean, up until the rise of downhill and such it has been the biggest no-no is the skateboarding world lol. I bet scooterers even think it is whacky... and thats saying something :P
There's a shed right next to daddies with a glory hole. I been there
Nickel 4life
If you put bones reds bearings in it it would go a lot faster.
Which one should i buy
Would it be able to sustain someone who's 6'0 and 215 lbs?
Mostly when it comes to tricks, mongo cana ctually be a burden. On cruisers it doesn't matter that much even though I must say it kinda distorts your balance, at least in my experience, because you kinda lean back with every push you make.
would this fit in a locker?
I bought mine today! Anyone know how long it takes to ship?
Is this size skateboard too small for a total beginner?
I love the nickle board better then the penny
How fast can you go untill you start to get speed wobble?
Can you do the same tricks on a nickel as you can do on a penny?
Good for size 5? Or too big
how did u do ur griptape?
I want to buy one, but i have size 12 feet, do you think it will affect me(ANYONE ANSWER ME PLEASE)
Yeah, it sucks :( I wonder if amazon will ship them here.
How much wight does it hold ?
Which is better penny or nickel?
Is size 14 to big 4 this board
alright thanks man :)
how much did the dude riding it weigh?
You should be fine man, you will get used to anything anyways!
listen how he laughs at 1:02
Nice
Where do you live? Where I live we park our cars in the direction that cars are driving.
he was trying to troll the camera man at 1:51
is a nickel more like a globe bantam?
+BabyCherry323 Look up how to footbrake, learn it and love it!!
you mean the board?
i just got one today its scary as fuck for downhill it just doesnt work for me nuh uh but how do you stop ?
Can u put orangatang wheels on em??
Australian board yer
I have the Same Board colour :-)
This is the watermelon one? :)
Portland has no rules! lol
no the place
My feet are 12 and I ride a board 3 inches shorter than the Nickel no problem.
i just got my nickel yesterday!!!!
Can you give me some feedback on how it is and if it's easy to ride on bumpy roads? I want one but idk if they are good for bumpy sidewalks
Willie Flores I have the nickel.. and so far so good. They are really good on roads. They don't make much noise like normal skateboards. And they are much much smoother on sidewalks+
Its freaking perfect....get a derringer 28 instead of nickel
i disagree, pushing mongo means your weight is more on the back, rather than on the front, and i can say with confidence that I'd rather fall back than forwards. But that never seems to happen pushing mongo with me, but it has happened pushing regular.
*it can
dude, it sure will, i can sustain a car.
I think Douglas Dalua pushes mongo.....
I can turn so good with my back foot and I push mongo
It weighs only 2 kilo's
Dude.. with size 11 of feet I use normal pennys. You should be fine with a nickel.
That place looks so sad
I have a penny original and i want a nickel so bad
Why?
+Brianna C I'm the same. realised it was a mistake to get the smaller size. I wanted the smaller one so I could ride it to school and have it in my bag during lessons but it wouldn't fit and now I'm left with a board that isn't as stable as I'd like (I live in an area with no smooth paths) and that I cant take anywhere but abroad as it fits in a small suitcase. I've only take it with me to Spain and used it a few times. I'm torn between the nickel or an ordinary Street skating setup

no
Yeah, I guess I'll just buy one of the cheaper ones here and change the bearings
it personally doesn't confront me none, if you are having fun thats great, thats what it is all about. But it is and will always be a topic of ridicule in most the skate world. Mongo pushing is like eating cereal with a fork... it is possible, but it isn't functional by any means.
hrmmm.. try to not? :P
mongo4life
if you like plastic skateboards then well boy do i have something for you
First
i like you. :)
good review, but the board looks too slow for me.
