    if you like the mushroom flavor but hate the texture, you can throw a stick blender in after the veg is all saute'd and basically turn the mushrooms into nothing, then do the rest of the gravy process.
    I sneak mushrooms into dishes using that method all the time, my picky eaters love the flavor but if they saw something that looked like it might be mushroom it would be a revolt at the dinner table.
