    I love these, I use deli wrap paper for so many things (because I have a box that originally contained 1,000 sheets 12x12") I print on these, make journals out of them and love translating the origami folding thingies into deli wrap versions. Just made one using your tutorial, finished measurement: 2" x a little over 2" I am using it to hold several tiny die cuts of numbers etc. It is a very good container for these little things and the folds and belliband keep things from falling out.

    • @oakhousejournals
      @oakhousejournals  2 года назад

      Hi Pauline, thanks for your lovely chatty comment....loved it. WOW what a find, getting that box of deli papers. I really enjoy working with vellum and this little box is perfect for that, so it'll be perfect for making with deli paper too. And it won't add any dimension if you're using the box in a journal or the like. I use mine mainly in journals and happy mail. As you mentioned it's great for holding die cuts, fussy cuts or stamps... anything really.
      Thanks so much for watching and letting me know how you use your origami boxes. Hugs C xx

      It was sooooo lovely to read your kind comment this morning, Thank you.
      You are absolutely right, these boxes are perfect for advent calendars. I've used them a couple of times for just that. If you make a cover with a spine, just like a book cover and have the boxes on the inside, they make a great little advent calendar.
      I tend to use a couple of pieces of ribbon to hold the cover shut, but if you use ribbon on the boxes themselves ( bit fiddly but can be done) you don't really need to hold the cover shut as well. BUT it really adds a lovely, luxurious festive touch having a bow on the side. Hope you'll give it a try. Enjoy your festive season. Hugs C xx

    For people who don't wish to damange books, you can print a faux page on any regular office printer in a thicker paper / thinner cardboard, only don't forget to set you printer properly for thicker paper otherwise it won't "bake" toner/ink well enough and it might peel off.

    Lovely video! As others have said, thank you for taking your time and being so clear. I was working along with you on my own box, but as I was using a piece of printer paper, my proportions were somewhat different from yours. Can you give the dimensions of your starting page?

    • @oakhousejournals

      A few have asked me this and unfortunately it is a good wee while since I did the video. I know I was working with book pages ( so approx 8" x 5") but then I chopped off the white border/margins so there wouldn't be any 'white space' showing on the finished box. It should work with any rectangular piece of paper though. So sorry I couldn't be more specific for you. Hugs C xx

      Without reviewing the video I can't remember off hand the paper size I used ( very remiss of me if I didn't say what it was in the video!). I've just checked with one I've still got in my stash and I made that one with a book page measuring 8" x 5.5". Obviously you can make these using whatever size of paper you have to hand provided it's a rectangle. Hope that helps and thanks for watching. C xx
