While Alfa Romeo is a luxury brand, when you buy a Stelvio or a Giulia, regardless of the trim level, you are buying it for the driving experience, i.e. handling, column mounted shift paddles ala Ferrari, starter button on the steering wheel “race car style” the brand heritage, and the overall uniqueness. You are not buying it for the technology. In my opinion having a screen that integrates into the dashboard rather than dominating it is actually a big plus. As far as reliability goes Stelvio has been on the market since 2016 or 2017. At this point all of the bugs have been worked out and they are extremely reliable. Lastly, in regards to the handling, the Stelvio is one of the very few vehicles in its segment if not the only one in its segment, with a 50-50 weight distribution and a carbon fiber driveshaft. For all these reasons I believe it’s absolutely worth looking into an alpha Romeo Stelvio.
I am in the process of buying a '22 Stelvio Ti Sport, and if everything goes well it should arrive in my driveway next week! I almost bought a 2020 Jaguar F-Pace Sport, but couldn't get over its wide panel gaps - especially on the hood. The interior also seemed less stylish and it didn't really go much faster with its supercharged v6. I'll gladly take a few more mpg with the Stelvio. Can't wait!

Some 'hidden' key points in the Stelvio that contribute to make it stand out are: - Great attention to weight reduction with most body made of aluminum, engine and patented suspension also 100% aluminum, drive shaft in carbon fiber, etc. - 50/50 weight distribution per axle, courtesy of the Giorgio platform with the engine placed behind the front axle with RWD driving bias. - Brakes by wire by Continental, featuring a Brembo system with 4 pistons in the front and 2 at the back. - Very high rate steering response featuring Ackerman geometry for better grip in corners - Slip Differential available as well on some trims (my Veloce has it). - ...and the mentioned ZF8HP gearbox with very quick shifts, specially while used in Dynamic driving mode.
11:38 The ruler to measure the leg room is a great idea, but then you have to measure how big is the seat as well, because a well know trick many manufacturers use is both the angle of the seat and more important, the size of it. If you make it smaller, you'll get more apparent leg room. Most reviewers and people in general fall for that.
16:00 The peak power from most competitors is also lower than 280hp in the 2.0 liter category. Check the peak power output from the likes of the X3, Q5, XC60, Macan, F-Pace, etc. They're all below the 280hp ...and that's also why they're also slower than this one. They offer less power and are heavier...
Reliability for the 4-cyl versions is fine. If you check the Alfa Forums you'll find battery problems for the first year or so, then that was fixed. If I recall, the Stelvio (and Giulia) both received 4-star safety ratings.
Looking at the Alfa Romeo I actually like it better than the Maserati because of the price here’s the only problem. There aren’t too many Alpha Romeo dealerships at least in Las Vegas so if you ever need to get your car fixed you might run into some problems and the front grill is a little bit of an eyesore but consumer reports show that customers are happier with the alpha Romeo and the more expensive Maserati Nice video mare.

Interesting the dead pedal doesn't have the nice shiny cladding the throttle & brake pedal have. Kudos to them for not putting an ipad in the thing for a instrument cluster.

Maybe that was just the 21" wheels ruining the experience on your case. ...And you were talking about ride quality while riding in 'Dynamic' mode, I'm not sure if the dampers go stiffer in that model. In mine, they definitely go significantly stiffer. EDIT: The same Canadian youtuber that made the direct comparison with the Q5, also made a direct comparison on the sound level, with both cars, same road, same speed and the Stelvio was the quietest.
I own a 2019 Stelvio and its been very reliable. The only issue was a glitchy fuel pump. It happens after the car has been running for several hours in hot weather. After sitting and cooling down for a few hours, it turned on like nothing had happened. For reference i line in AZ and summers are brutal.
You are thinking of the Tonale. And you have it backwards, the Hornet is a rebadged and downgraded Tonale. Dodge was lazy in the subcompact SUV range so they lazily took the Tonale and “Dodge-ified” it.
As a Stelvio owner, that is not correct. The Alfa Romeo Tonale is built on the same chassis as the Hornet. The Stelvio and the Guilia sedan are built on the same chassis, and that is an entirely different chassis and larger than the Hornet/Tonale chassis.

2020 base model, with 33k no issues at all. Some rattles, that's it.

The issue with the Alfa is the same as all other Stellantis brands being that the parts are all from the Dodge parts bin.
