You’re complaining about a 500hp Ferrari derived motor in an SUV that “only” makes 26mpg….? Did you listen to what you just said?
😂
I used to make 25-28 average mpg in my old 2007 unreliable Audi a4 2.0 t se Quattro. Doing 16 miles per day.
Really makes 17-20. Mpg
Mines on 22.. you are doing great.
I averaged 35/40mpg out of my 3.0l 6 cylinder bmw...
I own a stelvio Qv. Bought it at 30k km. Have now 80k km. totally disagree with the views of your video. Its the most comfortable car on normal mode I’ve ever had. And i owned many german cars mercedes porsche bmw etc. Second it’s an Suv you say 25 mpg which is not even 11 L /100km. I’ve owned a cayenne S coupe. I could not get it below 12 L/100km. So this car is much more fuel efficient. And you’re complaining about a 2500 eur maintenance for a timebelt? You are comparing it to your audi V10. Tell me your combined maintenance costs for the same kms/miles is lower on this boring audi. I don’t think so.
This car is the most underrated daily suv on the market. And luckily that helped us to buy it at a low price. Moreso, if i had to buy another daily. I’d buy the same car again.
The auxiliary belt change is every 4 years. Take it to an independent and its half the cost and probably better than the Alfa dealers. Worth joining the Alfa Romeo club it gives you discounts.
Or do it yourself
@@pereldh5741 work on a Ferrari derived engine worth about £20-30k without the correct tools and training, great idea. If you can afford to drive this car you can afford £2k for a service every 7 years.
@@pereldh5741 Aux belt is a big job, would need a lot more space than most people have at home, and don't forget all the alfa-specific tools.
25.9 mpg is decent for a such a big car and with that kind of performance on tap.
I have the Giulia Quad and in town i get an average of 24mpg driving in D or Race mode and 40mpg on the motorway thanks to cylinder deactivation. It’s a good all rounder if you have to do quite a lot of miles per year.
Cylinder deactivation shortens turbos life, my specialist is offering coding to remove this option.
No way he’s getting 25.9 mph maybe hmh
Must say Paul the production value and the fun in the video is where your channel needs to go keep it up sir good work!!!
Really not watched this channel in probably a few years but here because of that very Car but forgot how annoying his presenting style is. Shouting and still Chav, it’s as if the guy has struggled as others around him like Sam have marched on.
Alfa is a alfa only people who got one know the passion
I had the Stelvio Veloce (2.0T) for 3 years and only got 29mpg, so 25 in the V6 Quad is fine by me.
You have a very light right foot 😂😂
Same. Lovely car.
Paul, do not go to an alfa main dealer for the service, you’ll get a better job for half the price at an Alfa specialist independent like Alfa workshop or Alfa works etc.
Every car has issues - no matter what you drive! It’s like your body… you gotta take care of it!
that is so true
100% and the further you go up the performance/luxury/technology ladder, the more issues. It comes hand in hand
mate you're complaining about getting 12liters / 100k in London from 510bhp SUV, diesiel SQ5 ain't much better. This engine doesn't have timing belt, you're quoted for AUX belt which takes a day of work to replace, shop around and specialist might be able to change it without removal of front bumper and radiator... This car is brilliant I take family for a holiday, go to work and hammer it down on alpine passes whenever i like, and it takes it without any complain after 4 years, 60k miles and 6 sets of expensive tires :]
nah, you need to remove a lot of stuff to change the belt on the stelvio qv, thats include the front, headlights, radiator, intercoolers a lot of hoses and pipes and so on.
I’ve had mine 3 years now. Still an amazing car to drive. Don’t drive her every day now (22,100 miles in 3 years), so when I do drive she’s a complete hoot to drive.
Not managed a 25.9mpg average- usually just into the 20’s!
Not used Race mode too much! Don’t need to, car is as good in D and N (only used A once when running on vapour in the petrol tank!)
she?
@@derekporter66 yes , cars, aircraft, ships are always referred to as feminine
@@ohhyesitsonlyme ok
One of the advantages of dial mode is I move between all modes all the time I’ll use race on many journeys just he’s the noise, dynamic if I don’t want to be a anti social and A to squeeze a bit more on the motorways. Over 4 years in and it’s never got old.
I have a 2019 stelvio qv and get about 16mpg, always in race mode!
Im happy to pay for the fuel and service costs.
Haven’t tuned in for a while mate and your videos are soooooo good now. Not saying it was bad before but so much better than before.
What a beautiful spec. That paint with yellow calipers is lovely! I only drive in Race mod, then hit the bumpy road button to put the suspension in medium, which feels soft enough for me. I only get out of Race mode if not wanting to me loud for neighbors or if I get stuck in traffic and want adaptive cruise control to be active, which Race mode deactivates
of course when I was at school, 6/8ths was 75% and not 80% but I chuckled! Cheers anyway Paul!
I was just thinking the same thing and wondered if anyone else noticed this . ROCK - ON Paul !
26MPG is actually pretty good for what the Stelvio QV is.
Had mine now for 2 years, bought the Stelvio new and took out the service plan for 3 years or 27000 miles, however the company I bought if from added additional 2 years as a deal sweetener. 26k on the clock no issues at all just tires 😊, only annoying issue is cold weather the front tires skip on full lock, I think they call it the Ackerman steering geometry. Love the Stelvio and not many on the roads as you drive up and down the country, unlike the German brands very common.
Same just manoeuvre slowly. I’ve got Pilot sport 4s after 2 sets of pz4s and after 4k in this regard they are better but will see come winter.
A three year alfacare service pack would cost you the same and would cover the belt service. The ‘big ‘ service is aux belts not cambelt.
My GQVs auxiliary belt is due every 40k miles and it’s buried behind some major components so it takes many hours and so the cost is VERY high. Other than that all other maintenance and costs are average and straight forward.
Haven't watched you in a while but this video was great.
Your sense of humour, sort of down to earth vibe and personality will make you famous AGAIN.
Keep up the good work and enjoy the journey, you could be the top British youtuber in a year.
I've got one in competizione rosso. Tyres and brakes are super expensive. Fuel economy of 25mpg sounds like you do a bit more highway driving. You should consider the total cost of ownership relative to anything else in its class though. At £40k used, given the next versions will be all electric, I don't think these will depreciate too much further considering how reliable they are proving to be.
Best looking and sounding SUV 👍shame you did not have it on more I would have watched your channel more.
You are the only youtuber that have a alfa romeo qv! I can say you are different! Bmw's, audi's, Mercedes, seems so boring compare to alfa romeo! Good choice! Go for mods!
1,5 years on mine. 40.000km with an average of 11,5l/100km, which are 20,45mpg. Normally I drive 60km per day and a difference of 800m of altitude in the Italian alps.
This is THE daily driver if you`re living in the mountains and you`re driving on curvy roads. Such a fun car.
The only REAL downside for me is the non-compatibility with a trailer hook. It's a shame that you cannot use a hook mounted bikerack on a car like this.
I have the Maserati Levante with the Ferrari made 3.0V6. My long term average is 20mpg so yours sounds good.
Is your stelvio lowered?
Also can you give me a link to the exact wrap you used. I think it will look perfect on the f pace svr!
14:02 What are you talking about - the Stelvio QV , as well as all the other Petrol Stelvios, does not have a timing belt!!
I own a gulia quad , absolutely love the car but I’ve had so many problems with it .
Unfortunately there utter junk
😂😂😂they certainly aren’t. It’s the best car I’ve ever owned and driven .
@@tumolucky17What sort of problems did you had ?
@@melaniezimmermann-jv7th lamber sensor, fuel line, injector , battery
I have owned one since 2018 and never had a major problem with it
Don't complain about the biggest service bill of the cars life (should have done your research before hand) when the other services are reasonable. The fact that it was due the big one is probably why you got it for £40k and not £42k. Also, spunking money on wrapping the car is just insane if you are concerned about ownership costs.
I got a four year service plan for my quad £499.00. Coming up for its 4th one now
Was the change from Cupra Ateca worth it?
11l/100km (25.9mpg) is totally ok for a large powerful SUV. If you can afford a car like that, that fuel consumption should not be an issue. It's not like it does 10mpg.
Love the colour! Whats the mileage for the timing belt change on the Stelvio?
is it 60k?
@@CarsofGlasgow That what I assume whenever I buy a used car, if over 60 I look through the paperwork to see if its been done.
36k or 4 years I believe
My car is at 111000 and I didn't do the timing belt
My car is at 111000 miles and I didn't do no timing belt....I feel for you
I used to make 25-28 average mpg in my old 2007 unreliable Audi a4 2.0 t se Quattro. Doing 16 miles per day.
Loved mine and miss it, smiles per miles
Do the the exhaust mod so you get race mode sound in normal
I am happy with my car at 111000 miles and i haven't touch the timing belt at all. Just take it to your local garage with people with sense intact.
Stelvio quadrifoglio ?
who did the wrap?
Great color, it does sound good especially for a car thats released in today's climate.
My 1.5tsi 150hp Formentor consumes 10l/100km on city traffic, 7 on an open road, and 8 on highway going 140km/h, so not being satisfied with this beast having somewhat higher numbers is just insanse. 😃
Wow in Norway the service is around 500000 Nok or a complete car, coolvideo greetings Norway
75%
The spec is nice 👌
Anyone going to mention the security on them being woeful and large numbers getting nicked via the front radar / canbus?
Get a dislock steering wheel lock it'll provide some comfort. Most cars now can take literally under a minute to open
Take it on a trip to Italy - factory and back - to test the reliability
love the stelvio Quad
Paul, are you running it on E5 or E10?
By the sound of it, he's running it on a deficit.
Correction, the Stelvio is actually real wheel drive most of the time and only uses 4 when needed. Also, in Race mode it's strictly real drive.
Sure ? thought in all modes traction goes to fronts when rears slip. Don’t think there is a disconnect 4wd in race but could be wrong.
Brilliant video amazing car
he is getting better Mpg than my 4cyl Mazda lol
Thanks for the honesty… ouch
That's one quick suv
25 mpg in a 4x4 V6 Biturbo 500hp SUV is....bad?
I had that kind of fuel consumption in my 2021 530d and you are crying about it in your 500hp SUV? Bro get a hybrid...
Alfa needs good battery, clean radiator and best oil and fluids . And I think , maybe it will last longer !
that would be a video
Way Nicer than Chav Porsche thing
11:00 yes Try german URUS
so apparently 6/8 (3/4) is 80%! lol
So what were the running costs. Couldn't be bothered to trawl thru 14 mins of this. Maybe add some chapters like better channels do and display the figures so we can skip the rubbish.
I get worse mpg in my 4 clynder stelvio
go to an alfa specialist defintely
1/4 less should be 75% of California’s V8😜
It's not a Ferrari V8 with 2 cylinders missing, we have to drop that myth. The guy who designed this engine also designed the Ferrari V8 twin turbo and used that knowledge to make this one, but they are not related.
If you talk about mpg on performance cars I just laugh
Ran a Stelvio for 2 years until it was stolen. Running costs cheaper than the Macan I replaced it with. Fabulous car!
Which Macan did you get? I’m looking at a 2021 GTS and they look/sound amazing
2022 Macan GTS, 25 mpg, £400 for oil change (most need it every 12 months) and over £1k for 1st service. But running costs are balanced by reasonable depreciation.
6/8 cylinders is 75% of a Ferrari engine
Dude, your video is 90% just talking junk, if you’re going to ramble on about the same thing you have talked about for months, then change the title to “I’m going to to talk Sh$t for money” instead of what you called it…
Ferrari help to advise and develop..but 100% is not a Ferrari engine..
I know not a flat plane crank but same man designed it same bore and stroke but more power per litre than most Ferrari versions.
Everyone who can't afford the running and maintenance costs of an Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio should by a VW Lupo 3 liter as a daily driver 😜
New Alfas look great from the outside, but only premium thing about them is their maintenance cost.
Interior not up the the asking price, reliability still questionable, depriciation horrible...
Dang fossils 😜
I bought a porsche Macan GTS and I love it to bits. Way better car
No surprises here, you should've known it would be a lemon. It's butt ugly. Crazy consumption. Depreciates like hell. Silly expensive servicing. Really you should have known better.
26mpg for a nippy SUV is not bad at all!
Agree. I used to struggle to get 28mpg out of the 2.0 Troc R, and would get 9mpg hammering it in the lanes!
This car has faster lap time then m4 at the nurburgring
It is not a car for you. Buy a Honda, it will be cheaper
4:50 you are not in a real Alfa Romeo with the Busso V6 that Jeremy was referring to... You're in a Stellantis hopped up Fiat/Chrysler with a Maserati V6.
is that the Pentstar V6 out of the 300 and in the ghibli?
Nope, the Maserati uses the same Ferrari derived engine. It’s not based on any Fiat/Chrysler platform. It’s the Giorgio platform used only by Alfa and Maserati. Chrysler and Fiat may be part of Stellantis group but they do t use the Giorgio platform.
@@ohhyesitsonlyme Oh is it, Maybe its the other v6 engine I am thinking of. I remember seeing it on RUclips - most recently hoovies garage. The american block shipped to italy for the headers to be put on (or something like that)
@@CarsofGlasgow which V6 engine? Clearly it’s not the classic Busso V6 (I had a 156 GTA many years back with the front drive V6 Busso, and know the difference between that V6 ms the one in the Stelvio and Guilia Quadrifoglio’s. All you need to is look at the Ferrari California V8, and it’s identical (bar being V8 not V6 to the Guilia and Stelvio engine (add to which Ferrari engineers- or ex Ferrari engineers) had a lot of in development of the platform and handling characteristics of the Quadrifoglio.
@@ohhyesitsonlyme Just googled its the regular v6 that they use in the Maserati and Jeep cherokee etc I am thinking off
Very interesting as looking to go from the 2.0 veloce 2021 Stelvio to a quad did u shop around for service as notice looked like you took it to Palmers in Hemel can’t say to much but maybe unity or Thames could help. Also u can do the service anywhere if under warranty. Interesting u say about the Alfa issue as I always had gp1 and 2 then a clubman Jcw. I think the Alfa is in it own league great car
Mate, 26 mpg for this car?! My current car has 26mpg and half the horse power and 70% of the size. I'm not even checking the gas costs for something like this. I was expecting you to say some abysmal low value by the way you were talking about it :))
Alfa has been making some bangers recently. 🙏
Old bangers
I don't know how you make any money given your monthly costs but I guess it's part of having a car channel. Your lifestyle wouldn't be sensible for anyone else.
You have a Ferrari engine Alfa Romeo for DAILY and you have thoughts for its fuel consumption??? Maybe you’ve should buy the diesel one…
Germany Cars? Boring as fuark....
True and note Germans love Italian cars.
Agree with everyone else. Get the belt service done by an Alfa specialist. As an oddity due to Alfa Dealers having such a poor reputation a lot of Alfa buyers actually PREFER a service history from a good well known Alfa specialist. One of the few cars out there with such a situation. Autolusso would do the full service you need PLUS a remap for the same price as the Alfa dealer is quoting you.
I'm getting this car next 2 years
love the green colour
Love the colour! Whats the mileage for the timing belt change on the Stelvio?
It's a 4yr service and their intervals are 9k miles, so 36k miles or every 4 years.
This engine still has a timing belt instead of a chain wow that's one service you have to do .
Supercars of London Great Video I think the running costs of your Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio aren't too bad for what it is and I think it would be awesome to see a Giulia Quadrifoglio on the channel as well
F-pace SVR???
Having owned a Giulia Veloce, and now a Stelvio Quad, the smart thing to do is take out the service package or 2, 3 or 4 years. It means each comes in way under cost. For the Giulia I think I paid £499 for 3 services, one of those being the 36k one (the timing belt / chain), which priced alone was well over that.
What-a-da-fuk? The car is an artist. It canna not-a work in these conditions.
Seriously dude. 25mpg in a 510hp SUV. That is legit.
No petrol MPVs do more than 25mpg average? Macan GTS, M40i, SQ5 petrol the same but nowhere near as good to drive or to look at 😳. You need an M40d!
How did you find a Verde Stelvio Quad ? That color was NEVER offered on the Stelvio Quad in the US
Tell me which Suv can give You the same Sport feeling. No one. Period🍀
Please point a car with now than 500 hp and with inferior costs.
My golf r 8 does that and previous gr Yaris the same
Would love qv
Buy an 80 grand car and complain about a 2k service lol
after all
it’s a Ferrari derived engine, so what😅✌🏼
