all these vids of yours have motivated me to actually fix my AU up, i've had it for near 3 years and never put the time or effort into it (mainly cuz i was still in school and broke lol) but I've been trying to work on mine a lil bit. Me and a mate fixed up the rocker cover, oil, air and fuel filter, new LED lights inside, coolant flush and a major engine clean. Broke a bolt which was rough but found a similar to throw in the spot! Honestly my fav car i've ever gotten to drive, and only paid a grand for it, thanks for all the vids bro!
@@vrmooo Don"t worry, bruh moment obviously has no clue about these cars. Paid over 2 grand for mine, about 7 years ago. Had awesome paint, because it had been garaged. Did a few things on it, then hit a massive roo at 100km/h, but had spares for parts, but in the last year due to being bored, it now has too may brand new parts to list, as well as brakes yesterday which got brand new slotted rotors. plus brand new extractors and 2.5" exhaust, all ebay cheap and sounds awesome. These cars are still everywhere, especially out in country areas, unlike the rubbish commodore of the same time - they sold more new but are now fairly rare.
With the coolant flush, it's fine to leave it in for about a week. Just flush and back flush before hand, then add the coolant flush, drive around for a week or so, then dump it. Did that with my ford xg and that did a proper job at neutralising and clearing out the rust. Also, I'm not sure but most flushes are alkaline in nature, and with increased alkaline environment, it decreases the rate of rust forming. Hope this helps!
Hey I’m 49yo and just want to say am loving your channel, well done! I also watch Ross reviews who has given me good insight to the development of the mighty AU. That guy you mentioned got sacked the much needed face lift was then released as the series 2. Anyway of my rant. Take care keep up your good work 👌
The Au Falcon is a fine car, probably the best Ford ever made. Much liked by my Ford dealer mechanics, who say its better than the Falcons that followed it, the BA and BF. I'm a farmer, who now drives an AU series 1 V8 Fairlane, but my previous car was a 2001 AU SR Falcon. In the 7 years and 150,000 km I drove her, apart from Ford dealer servicing, All I had repaired on her was a window winder motor and new thermostat, hoses and radiator. And my current work ute is an AU column auto 1 ton trayback.

if you want it properly clean either remove one of the heater hoses, install a garden hose, leave radiator cap off and run with hose for an hour or so, or remove the thermostat, leave to radiator hose off the radiator end, install a garden hose into the radiator inlet, run engine with hose going for an hour and so then done.
Been following the build and the channel for a while, loving the content! Managed to pick up a black S2 XR8 a couple years ago for $5000, now is manual with all the bells and whistles. Unbelievable how much they’re going for now. Been a part of club au on fb for years trying to progress the page. At what point do I get to say I got one before it was cool? Haha
I can't believe the enthusiasm for an AU. We had an AU Ute for years and it literally fell about but kept going. The only reason I sold it was because it was in my brothers name and he moved overseas. The cops kept pulling me over as it came up as an unlicenced driver when his licence expired. Still got $700 for it and it really was a piece of crap. i moved back to the UK and i kind of miss the old ute. the equivalent here is the Transit van which i now drive while restoring my V8 Capri....Now thats a drift car! Great video. Keep up that enthusiasm.

Easy - 4.0 litre straight 6... (although I reckon the Barra is better) and now that Aussie Ford is no more, it's uncertain if there'll ever be another commonly available big cube straight 6 like these falcon motors. Revs for days / plenty of torque / simple to work on and easy to hold together...
Got my AUll XR8 220 for NZ $8,400 in April 2021.
