Delilah, appreciated your review. Having tried this product and been less than enamored, I was surprised at the small amount you used. It is a rather moisturizing product and left my hair feeling weighed down. Will have to try this using a much less amount and probably pairing it with a harder holding gel since I have wavy more than curly hair. Great information!
I have not been emulsifying near enough, thanks for the tip. Do you really use this between washes for refreshing? I never knew to use a product like mousse or gel, I always just wet my hair but then it looks yucky sooner so I have to wash sooner therefore haven’t been wearing the curly hair much. Thanks for that tip, I will sooo be trying it!
Yes I do! My hair doesn't love getting wet between washes. I think it has to do with the humidity here. When my hair wasn't as healthy, I used diluted conditioner or curl cream to refresh. Then I'd glaze a little diluted gel over it all and diffuse for a minute. Now, I can use just use a product like this if needed, It doesn't always work, but if I chose a product that's well formulated for the current condition of my hair then it does.
Hi. New curly girl here. Just realized I hv curls after growing from super short pixie to short bob. So the verb is ok on fine hair? Also why does parts of my hair have so much curl and then areas like bangs just loose wavy. ???
It's ok if you're hair likes a bit of moisture/conditioning ingredients. It's normal to have multiple curl patterns all over but it can become more consistent with time.
I bought this product and I love Mel but this left my hair a soft frizzy mess and I did not use much -- some of us can not use conditioners -- also my hair type all products have to be clear no cream type stuff including shampoo -- I really wanted it to work --- for me over the counter gels work the best -- I stopped straightening months ago - my hair type is a combo 2c - 3A fine texture but a lot volume -- I live in SC -- humid here too ---
@@HolisticEnchilada Delilah I had a question on this. What's the point of using hard hold gels with polyquats if you need to clarify your hair more often? Aren't we stuck in this cycle of build up, wash and repeat. It feels counter productive to me. I'm honestly questioning using gels in my entire routine and feeling the need to keep it simple with just a leave-in conditioner (and add a foam for days I want my hair to look good on special occasions)
I live in Atlanta and polyquats save my hair in high humidity. I have 3b/3c hair, so it’s needed. I definitely use a clarifying shampoo often to avoid buildup.

Yeah maybe less will work better. If I use any more it's way too heavy.
I so wanted to love this product. I ended up returning it. It did not have enough hold on my hair. Glad you did this review!
Thanks. I can see that being the case for some.
Did you try pairing for a stronger hold? I love the way this stuff feels on my hair & it gives great definition without the crunchiness.
I have but it's too much for my hair.

How did it effect your drying time? I find my hair takes forever to dry when I use this and I always diffuse.
It made no difference for me.

Yeah this doesn't do much for me when it's humid which is most of the year. I'm finding it heavier on my hair now than when I first tried it.
I live in SC and totally agree -- we just need to experiment with our crowns - its like working out we are each different -- thanks
@@HolisticEnchilada its a battle and then became like everything else $$$$$$
You used no leave in prior to using Verb, is that right? Verb was your only product?
Correct, no leave-in. Verb was the only product I used.
@@HolisticEnchilada Thank you.
Polyquats tend to be heavy and cause build up for me too!!! I'm glad im not the only one
Yeah I definitely struggle with them. But I use really strong shampoo every wash so it's not such an issue.

Not enough hold for me
Yeah I'd love it if it had more hold.
