This is the first curly-hair-routine video that has actually helped me because it is realistic and easy to understand (and no pressure to buy tons of product)! 💃
I’m a 60yo curly girl (woman). For decades I have only used sweet almond oil and a little bit of squalan to style my hair. I’ve never wanted to leave anything on my hair that I wouldn’t want to come in contact with my skin. My hair is now completely white/grey.I’m often complimented on my shiny curls by hairdressers, so I must be doing something right. The rest of my routine is the same as yours.
16 minutes sounds amazing! I'll definitely try this. I honestly have just been leaving my hair straight lately because I can just rough dry it and it gets pretty straight, which is much faster than a full wavy hair routine.
Omg girl I just found u ordered your ebook studied that n studied that! Thank u by the way for all the free value you give us!! I love how real n down to earth you are! @@HolisticEnchilada yes n I am amazed at how much value u have given ppl! You have done an exquisite job of putting everything together! It’s truly a huge abundance of information! Thank you 🙏🏼 so much
I tried for YEARS a bunch of products, this and that and that and this. Also realized I cant put in products BEFORE the gel. Next day, no bounce and lots of frizz. So, your absolutely right. My hair type is different from yours. Its VERY DRY (I live in P.R. 🙄) but it wont soak up products after my shampoo and rinse. Its like its ENOUGH for my hair. Then comes the gel, but I must brush them into curling prettier. And this lasts me a good few days. Thank you for sharing ❤❤❤❤❤
With my hy density hair I would be at 20% dry. It takes me 25 minutes with the same hairdryer at medium speed and heat to go to 90/95% My hair does not like to let go of the water at all.
Im gonna try this tomorrow!! Sometimes I feel likea fraud because my hair doesn't know what its want Sometimes it'll be really wavy then the other time it'll be dead straight🥲 so I'm hoping this works😊
Best practical tutorial ever! Do you have any tips for brushing curly hair? Maybe you already have a video on it that I missed. My hair easily gets knots, so every time I brush, I lose some hair. That's why I usually choose an updo at least 4 times a week, so I don't have to deal with that on a daily basis and thin out my hair.
When are you brushing? I only brush in the shower to detangle. Using products with lots of slip helps with the tangles. You can also use an oil or serum on the parts that tend to tangle on wash day to help prevent tangles.
@HolisticEnchilada Thank you! I usually sleep with a ponytail or bun and I brush after I get out of the shower and have had my hair up in a towel. I will try the order you recommend and see if it makes a difference! 🙏
I’ve watched some say brushing when dry and oiled is best to not snap hair even if using conditioner. What do you think? I have tons of breakage and I’ve been brushing wet but I also tie up wet….
It is true that you have less breakage when brushing dry, but it's barely a difference. You can do either one. I just find it easier to brush with wet with conditioner.
Yes, definitely! I don't refresh (this is why I use strong hold styling product) but if I did I would just water down some of my gel and glaze and scrunch. You could also do the same with some leave-in to add in moisture. I used to cocktail water, leave-in, and gel in my hands then glaze and scrunch to refresh.
@@HolisticEnchilada Thank you so much!! Once I sleep (even with a bonnet) my hair the next day looks like who dunnit lmao 🤣 so refreshing has been a struggle but I'm def trying that next time!!
@@queenmzkriz7706 recently I started using the sleep bun hairstyle that sophiemariecurly reccomends. You use a silk scrunchie to pull the back of your hair into a high ponytail and then clip the face framing sections up onto the scrunchie. Then a bonnet or scarf and satin pillowcase. Before this I had given up on styling my natural hair because the curls always ended up flat, frizzy and stretched out after one sleep.
I loved the flexi jelly, but the smell is overpowering for me! So sad. I tried the unscented shine jelly but that one step below on hold didn't work as well for me. Your hair looks great! I do almost this exact routine every wash day, but when i take mine out from a quick plop the my hair is like ultra clumped up and stuck to the top of my head. No matter how much I scrunch, and flip my head back n forth, it will not come down without brushing underneath to pull down, which of course disturbs my curl pattern. Any tricks? Yours just seemed to come right now with no issue.
@HolisticEnchilada Thank you for your reply. My hair is relatively healthy and has high porosity. Should I still use a heat protectant before diffusing because of the high porosity?
Thank you! Finally a reasonable curly hair routine! Who has 2 hours to style their hair!

❤ this
With shoulder-length hair, this should take me even less time - definitely trying this tomorrow.
I hope it shortens your routine too!
Your hair is beautiful!!!!!!!
Thank you ❤️

It’s so great to hear that you’ve found a routine that works for you! Is your hair low porosity or coarse?
Thank you for this routine! I tried it and got great results 😊
I'm so happy to hear that! Thanks for sharing ❤️
Thanks! We have same hair (male version here) gonna say bye to the creams and all the layering! Trying the gel only then the mousse only ❤
You’re welcome! I hope it works for you too.

My hair does not like to let go of the water at all.
I know this is how it is for most people. This is one way I know I have lower density hair. If I air dry, it takes almost 8 hours.
@@HolisticEnchilada same airdry takes all day.
Looks great! Must try😊
Thanks ❤️😊

That's normal for those that don't have type 3+ curls. Mine can look almost straight if I don't do anything to it.
@HolisticEnchilada same!! And good to know😁

I need a new diffuser.. yours look great. Which one is it? Thanks
This is the Shark HyperAir.
What can i use if theres a bit of frizz after i scrunch the crunch at the end?
Maybe an oil or serum? You can scrunch out the crunch with some in your hands.
😊❤
My hair is really dry could I still achieve this with a leave in? How do u refresh? Tfs 😊 💗💖💙

Can you explain exactly what you meant at about 5:00 when you said if you have thick and dry hair to layer something underneath it?
If you have hair that tends to be on the dry side or is thick, you might need to use layer something under the gel, like a leave-in or cream.

Have you tried not plopping at all, just blotting the ends dry?
What shampoo and conditioner do you use ? Thanks
I linked them in the description of the video.
Hi Delilah. I was wondering how come you don't use any heat protectant?
My hair is healthy and low porosity so it doesn't need it unless I'm using real heat like an iron.
@HolisticEnchilada Thank you for your reply. My hair is relatively healthy and has high porosity. Should I still use a heat protectant before diffusing because of the high porosity?
I don't think you need it. If your hair was damaged then I'd day yes but diffusing doesn't really cause heat damage.
Thank you, Delilah.
If you have colored hair, you really really should use heat protectant or it will fade your color fast (especially if it’s not a natural color)
I’d like to know the names or pix of the products you use
I linked them all in the video description!
Where did you get your wrap
The hair towel? Its from Tee-Owels.
My hair takes all day to dry. I can’t even blow it dry in 16 minutes. My hair dresser even takes forever.
Sorry, you routine will definitely take longer than mine. But you can diffuse for a bit and air dry the rest of the way.
