He has no insurance - it immediately cancelled when he left the accident scene (read the "fine print" of your policy). Furthermore, drugs were found in both vehicles. Have you ever filed an insurance claim for a car accident ???

The idea that Rice is cooperating is absurd. He left the scene without having the decency to see if anyone was hurt, and with the passage of time, any alcohol or drugs will be out of his system. Cooperating? Really?
They lucky that mini van didnt roll over and start flipping. Also, who did they call to come pick them up? More people are involved than what's shown on the video.

Jalen carter who was drafted by the eagles was in an equally terrible incident where he was racing , where someone died and another person severely injured. He got 12 months of probation and fines. As far as I know he faced no punishment from the nfl
He'll probably get fined and sued for more than he's worth right now. He'll be paying these victims for several years until he can get paid after his rookie deal is over in a few years. No NFL player drafted outside of the first round is a "millionaire". They technically get paid around $400,000 a year max for the first few years if they last that long health-wise.
In general people don't put people in jail for car accidents where no one died even if recklessly driving. You go to court and pay a fine. Look at Andy Reid's son who caused permanent brain damage to a child. He's free as a bird. They may take your license and make you attend a driving class. Also, because he's a Chief, he'll be judged harsher than Jalen Carter by the NFL because the Chiefs were in the superbowl and this has made national news. He'll probably get a 6 game suspension. Another Chief got that much for breaking his own vacuum in a domestic situation where no one was hurt.
Normally I'm against people suing but that dude deserves to be sued for everything he has. He's a horrible person.

This incident checks all the young stupid boxes, racing in traffic, involving others in your stupid decision, leaving obvious evidence like your car and having no problem leaving people who were hurt and damaged property. I will say maybe you left because one of those drivers might have taken it to the streets and got out to target shoot. Then there is no public apology.

A lot of comments on here keep saying that Rice's "insurance" will pay the claims. People: READ THE FINE PRINT OF YOUR AUTO INSURANCE POLICIES. If you leave the scene of an accident in which you are involved (especially if you caused it !!), the insurance company has the right to terminate coverage. This man has no insurance - it terminated the moment that he willfully left the accident scene. Believe that. Furthermore, drugs were found in both vehicles. His insurance coverage is gone with the wind. He is going to have to pay cash money on the barrelhead to settle with all of the affected parties.
