This channel is probably my favourite coaster channel since the videos are entertaining, high quality and are actually logical and it’s clear that the theories have been thought about really deeply and it’s not super biased
I think a wing coaster would be a nice replacement for anaconda. But if they would get an Axis people would consider that a worthy replacement for Volcano.
We were so sad that we never got a chance to ride Volcano. We had Cedar Fair Platinum passes for 2018 and went to KI, CP, our old home park Carowinds, and KD. I don't think KD will replace it with a woody since they already have Twisted Timbers. My guess is a Mach because of the success of Copperhead Strike and Maverick. The area is perfect for a great, low to the ground launching coaster.
I really like the idea of KD going for a woodie dominate park. It fits with the setting and is a nice contrast with BGW's steel dominate lineup. Although, I would still like a B&M wing in the future. I think you can get rid of Cobra and move Backlot Stunt Coaster to a park like WoF and put a wing there to utilize the lake while helping a small park. I sure wouldn't be mad at all if it had a launch too and revived that tradition as well. I'm also in favor of an entrance revamp with a premiere coaster. Although, I think that would be a lot to ask for in the next 10 years. Who knows what could happen though in this climate. Maybe they'll be the first to get a T-Rex, It would certainly fit the monarch theme lol
I know a lot of these artworks of theme parks are made by someone who just looks at photos of the park and other random coasters/rides they think will look good. They are usually not directly connected to the park. Personally, I don't think Mystic Timbers was made for Kings Dominion, and I think the theming was used to slightly connect the parks. But I can see your points. Keep making this interesting content! 👍
Talking about wing coasters, Gatekeeper replaced a giga that was being planned that would replace mean Streak. This could play into the last theory, Giga to replace Mean Streak and a Hyper to replace Hurler. It was Matt Ouimet that pushed for Gatekeeper, which kept Mean Streak to be RMC'd.
I’m gonna give you one that may be a little out there but with Kings Dominion’s past history with new and innovative coasters, it’s not completely out there. The axis coaster. The park had Volcano which was out of the ordinary for that model and Hypersonic XLC, which was a brand new model at the time. It’s proven before to be a testing ground and why not try again on the same plot of land for an axis coaster? Also for me, I personally think a launched wing coaster would be perfect where Anaconda currently resides. A launches wing over water, give it some nice splash effects, would be absolutely perfect there.
I can get where you're coming from. Even with Invadr being a family GCI, if a coaster similar in theme to Wicker Man were to come to KD I think the GP wouldn't be impressed. Assuming that the curved-drop woodie is Grizzly (someone higher up in the comments claims that Grizzly's drop is slightly curved, so I'm working with that), I'd say that a GCI for KD is a stretch. I think that the Axis design from S&S would be a much better fit for KD and Cedar Fair as a whole, since I can't imagine a Freespin coming to a Cedar Fair park unless it's a custom model. An Axis coaster gives a unique attraction to the DC area (since neither BGT or SFA would have one) and would give KD something they can really talk about. With the wing coaster fitting in Anaconda's plot of land, my guess is that KD decided to shelf the project until Anaconda is demolished. I think Volcano's demise created a chain reaction that led to Vortex at KI being axed over Anaconda, so now we're waiting for something to happen over at Kings Dominion. 🤷🏻♀️ Not to mention that everyone expected CP to get some massive attraction for 2021 before we started hearing about Dorney Park and the two sets of leaked plans from KD, although we're all now in quarantine so who knows what happens.

Because the plots are right next to each other, they could remove anaconda too and then not only use volcanos plot of land but also have the coaster go over the walkway and onto the water where anaconda was, that would be cool.

Even deeper in theory...what if this gci wood is a hyper that does inversions? Gci showcased a model that can do it last year. If you want to have a worthy replacement of volcano and and one up Busch gardens with Pantheon and have the wood coaster, this is a possibility.
The only discrepancy I see is that if they went with the wing coaster it wouldn’t be a front gate revamp. The reason i say this is because of land space. Dominator being the closest coaster to the front gate takes up most of the land near the front of the park. The only way I see a coaster being a good ways to revamp the front gate with a coaster would be to 1 remove dominator which ain’t going to happen or in a long shot they remove the log flume and build a wing coaster longer than gatekeepers layout and try to stretch it from the log flumes land all the way to the front of the park and I don’t see that being feasible with the amount of land it takes to build from the log flume to the front of the park. However, I think if the wing comes the log flume will get the axe because with dinosaurs alive being removed and the fact we’ve seen cedar fair remove go karts in the past I think we might see the wing coaster run along side of the grizzly in the old Virginia area of the park. I personally wouldn’t mind seeing a GCI be built next to grizzly considering Mystic Timbers is pretty close in proximity to the Beast at Kings island.

Racing out and back? Check. Family/Classic airtime? Check. RMC with inversions? Check. Cyclone style? Check. Only thing missing is a true Twister style, which a Cyclone is about equal to thrill-wise. Besides, Busch Gardens nearby already has a GCI, and KD wont install a similar coaster when BG puts one in, thus, KD never got a giga, because BG built Apollos Chariot. Dont see a gate coaster either given the layout of the park entry and the back of house service area directly adjacent to it, unless they remove Dominator, too. Wings are also kind of outdated now. They are like flying dutchmans or stand-ups...a stale gimmick. It seems more likely given the space and what is lacking in the region is something like Hang Time ar Knotts, a Gerstlauer infinity. While BG has a dive coaster, this is different enough . Or maybe an S&S similar to Steel Curtain at Kennywood, which would also fit in that space. Nothing like that in the region. Theyll also need that type of coaster when they eventually remove Anaconda. My money is on a Mack similar to Copperhead Strike at Carowinds, though.
