This was really helpful and well structured! I've also been binging a bunch of yr 11 advice videos since I've started this year, and I'd say this is probably one of the most useful ones I've come acrosss. Just started my october half term and I'm sm more motivated to get revision done now. Tysm and good luck in year 12!!
This video is great imo -> you can see a lot of my previous comments in the past and these were all worried comment's. I followed what Ellen said and i got all grades 7-9 in GCSE 2024 :))Thanks :)
really glad i saw this lol - ive planned my christmas break out since i know if i leave my revision off any later ill just deteriorate - perks to you for being able to get so much done in like 2 months
Thank you! It's great that you plan on using the Christmas break wisely! Just remember, revising little and often is the best choice so you make sure to rest and take care of yourself as well x
Yes! I definitely think my revision should have started way before then. I would have prefered to revise at my own pace rather than feeling like I had to rush just to make sure I covered everything before the exam x
i have a question, should u do past papers after learning the content, like 2 weeks before the exam? Or Are past papers still effective on the first weeks of school?
Yes, I did take art! I would just say to make sure you stay on top of the coursework and do lots of extra developments/artist responses. It also helps to do planning and experimentation pages so the examiner can see the progression of your project x
Don't worry, I'm happy to help! For maths, I did lots of practice questions on Hegarty Maths and past papers. I used RAG spreadsheets so I knew what topics I was weaker at, and focused my revision on them x
Hi! I personally didn't sit my SATs as I moved to the UK right after everyone else had just sat them. However, I did help my sister prepare for hers and I would just say to practice little and often and don't stress too much! x 🤍
Personally, I would say that there is no need to do serious revision in year 9. It is the last year before you start learning GCSE content so enjoy it! Make sure to experiment with revision techniques (e.g. flashcards, mind maps) when you have end of topic tests so you find what works for you but because you don't start learning the main GCSE content until year 10, I would wait until then to start consistent revision x
When are you sitting your GCSEs? If you have already completed your exams, feel free to comment more tips for the new year 11s x 🤍

I did my exams in summer 23, make sure to revise for mocks. Past papers are the best way to revise
Yes, I agree! Mocks are a great way to find your weaker areas and prepare for the real thing x

such a helpful video!! did you have a template for creating your excel revision timetable? tysm :)
I'm so pleased it helped you! I didn't use an excel template- I just created a normal grid, added my own time slots and allocated subjects x
i have a question, should u do past papers after learning the content, like 2 weeks before the exam? Or Are past papers still effective on the first weeks of school?
Also forget to ask -How did you revise for english language ?I dont really know how to revise for it as in like do i revise techniques?
I did lots of past papers and then my teacher marked them for me! It's definitely the best way to practice x
Thanks for the video, it was super helpful! Did you take art for GCSE and if so do you have any tips since it is more difficult to study for? :)
