Crying cus I'm going into year 11 in September and we have 3 exam seasons at our school.... one in November one in February then actual GCSE's in June/July... SOBBING
I got a 3 in my year 10 history mock and my end of year test (three months later) I got an 8 so I promise it is definitely possible, just ask your teachers for help with things you struggle with, or ask them for practice questions xx
@@youtube.nehasolanki hey x I’m assuming it’s specifically history that you say you’re struggling with. I just finished year 11 and I’m hoping for a grade 8 or a grade 9 in history. This comment is going to be really long 😂 The first thing I did to improve my grade was identify what exactly was going wrong in my exams. For me it was that I didn’t have enough specific knowledge and I didn’t know what exactly I was getting marked on so I didn’t know what I was supposed to write. I then told my teacher that I was struggling with these things and she helped me in class to focus on those. Then for revision I focused on flashcards for key facts and then blurted all the key facts about a topic I knew, and for every question for both papers I wrote out sentence starters/ paragraph structures/ essay structures based on the mark scheme and grade 9 example essays mostly following PEEL (which I know is super boring but it does get you the marks). I also had to learn that history essays do not have to sound fancy and you don’t need an impressive writing style. They just have to tick boxes so even if your answers sound boring and simple, as long as you’re including all the information and you know what you’re getting marked on, you’re good 👍 I also recommend practice questions and practice papers as often as you can. I really wanted to focus on History because I’m doing it at A level so I did a practice question twice a week and a whole paper once every 2 weeks which I wrote with my essay structure next to me to help, this really helped me to get quicker at writing. Mindmaps are going to be your BEST friend. I would pick a random topic that a question could be about (like little rock nine for example) and included dates, statistics, names, events, effects, opinions, facts, and then when it comes to practice papers if there’s a question on that topic I can either use it to help me or (closer to exams) scribble them down around the question from memory. I really hope this helps xx
Thankyou, I’m so nervous for year 11 because everyone says I have to knuckle down which I agree but it’s also the last year and I really want to make it count!
You seem like the sweetest person ever. I’m starting year 11 in two days and icl im scared shitless snd have been watching guide videos all night. Thank you for the tips wish me luck🤞🏻🤞🏻

hi! sorry, i know this is an old video, but just wondering, do you recommend getting a ringbinder for each science (bio, chem + physics) or just one that you put stuff in for all three? thank you!! :)
