If anyone needs help with the "how useful are the sources" 8 marker for medicine through time, this is how I answer them I write two "JCOP" paragraphs, one about each source. Each paragraph looks like this: 1. JUDGEMENT - "source A is useful for... because..." 2. CONTENT - detail from the source - "the source states that / the source explains that / the source describes how..." 3. your OWN KNOWLEDGE to back up the source - "this is accurate as I know that..." 4. PROVENANCE - this is how reliable the source is. "the provenance of the source makes it useful because it was written by a soldier on the western front from his personal experiences / the provenance of the source makes it useful because it was published in a medical journal" something like this overall this takes 4, maybe 5 sentences. You don't need a ton of stuff for this question. Just stick to the structure. Judgement, Content from source, Own knowledge, Provenance history questions are mostly about following structures. if you learn the key facts and information, and learn the structure of each exam question, you'll be fine
@@kaidoa1539 12 marker: 3 paragraphs, no intro or conclusion needed each paragraph should give one reason for the thing stated in the question. for example, if the question was "explain why there were improvements in medical knowledge in the years 1500-1700", your first paragraph could be about Thomas Sydenham or the printing press, for example. for each paragraph I would structure it like this. clear opening sentence - "one reason for... was..." then just add to this - include any relevant knowledge you have about this point, and link it back to the question at the end. eg if I use the earlier example, and I was writing about the printing press, I'd say something like "one reason for improvements in medical knowledge in the years 1500-1700 was the more widespread use of the printing press." then I'd talk about how the printing press allowed information to spread more easily and scientists could build on each others' theories. then I'd finish with a sentence that links my point back to the question - eg "since the printing press allowed scientists to share their findings and disprove old theories, medical knowledge improved greatly in this period." so clear opening sentence, then include any relevant knowledge, then link back to question. each paragraph does NOT have to be super long. write 3 of these paragraphs and that's all you need. remember the question will give you two bullet points, I'd recommend using these as the basis of your first 2 paragraphs - you don't HAVE to use the bullet points but they're available to help you. 16 marker: this will normally be phrased something like "... was the most important reason for... in the years..." and will then ask how far you agree eg "the role of the church was the most important reason why there was little change in care and treatment 1250-1500. how far do you agree?" for a 16 marker you need 3 paragraphs again, but if you have time it can also be a good idea to include an intro and conclusion, as it makes your argument seem more well rounded and thought out. each paragraph follows a similar structure to the 12 marker. it makes sense to start with the thing in the question, so for this example, something to do with the Church. I'd probably go with the fact that the church controlled medical training. make an opening sentence, include relevant knowledge, link back to question - the same as in the 12 marker. but for the 16 marker, make sure the final sentence of each paragraph makes a JUDGEMENT. "I can therefore largely / somewhat agree / disagree with the question, because..." for example with the Church question, I would end my first paragraph like this: "I can therefore largely agree with the question, because the Church's control of medical training held back medical progress during this period." I hope this all made sense, I was kind of rambling!! if you need me to clarify anything or send example answers just let me know. also, the best way to get used to the structure of questions is simply to practise! it isn't the most fun form of revision but it's the most useful because it forces you to think back to what you know. write as many past paper questions as you can, and ask your teacher to mark them. once you get the hang of it you'll soon get into a rhythm and then you'll be able to smash the exams!

Hi, not creator but got a 9 in my RS mocks (w/ 90% across two papers), I do edexcel. For me I do use flashcards unlike in the video because for most of the course I would summarize my notes onto quizlets for topic tests, so I strongly suggest using any past notes/summaries you have and to not make new notes from scratch unless you're missing any notes for topics. RS is sort of similar to geography and history as its an essay subject with a ton of information, but I think you can cut down the info you acc need to revise + remember vs the stuff you can deduce just from common sense. For RS the MOST IMPORTANT thing I would say is to remember viewpoints/opinions, especially religious ones. So for every single spec point/issue you cover, you should know around 2-3 different opinions for different groups and be able to back it up with evidence and arguments. e.g. for abortion, if you have learnt Christianity you should know Catholic views and Anglican/Methodist/Church of England views and also differing non-religious views, along with relevant bible quotes/philosophical teachings and explain them. If you are presenting the Catholic view on abortion you need to state it, state the argument (eg Catholics believe in sanctity of life), give some evidence (in Genesis 1 humans are said to be made in "imago dei") and explain the evidence (imago dei means in the image of God, which shows that human life is special, holy and a gift from God thus must be respected and should not be destroyed). You need ro do this in any 6 or 10 markers. For short questions the important thing is to be very specific and answer the question exactly - you do not need to give a lot of info (literally 3/4 words are enough for some Qs) but they need to be highly specific, often scientific or exact religious terms.

Trying to get all 6s minimum in science. I’m going to get a grade 9 with the math exam if I put in the work, I know this because I got a Grade 8 in the mock exam. It’s just further maths for me I suppose. And I need to get 7s in English probably so that’s another focus I need to work on. As for history, I’m going to play it how you are doing.
thank you so much, this is so helpful, i’m in year 10 but i’m going to try these out for my mocks which are probably soon and see what methods work for me
Great video! This is exactly what I did - past papers and learning from the mistakes I made. I did this for almost every subject and it worked wonders! Good luck!
As someone who got majority 9s and A*A*A from merely writing what we were told to write despite not revising for the whole year (being naturally smart helped too), I can tell you this is pointless trying to attain all 9s at GCSEs. Frankly work hard on what you are good at and focus on it. Don’t bother trying too hard with what you are bad at. Get 9s in what you like and what you are good at. All I did was do a bunch of past paper questions. It’s easy and is not that deep.
Are PMT Flashcards good for revisng content? Is a grade 9 attaianble + tonnes and tonnes of practice from different past papers from different sources.

If anyone needs help with the "how useful are the sources" 8 marker for medicine through time, this is how I answer them
I write two "JCOP" paragraphs, one about each source. Each paragraph looks like this:
1. JUDGEMENT - "source A is useful for... because..."
2. CONTENT - detail from the source - "the source states that / the source explains that / the source describes how..."
3. your OWN KNOWLEDGE to back up the source - "this is accurate as I know that..."
4. PROVENANCE - this is how reliable the source is. "the provenance of the source makes it useful because it was written by a soldier on the western front from his personal experiences / the provenance of the source makes it useful because it was published in a medical journal" something like this
overall this takes 4, maybe 5 sentences. You don't need a ton of stuff for this question. Just stick to the structure. Judgement, Content from source, Own knowledge, Provenance
history questions are mostly about following structures. if you learn the key facts and information, and learn the structure of each exam question, you'll be fine
Have you got structure for the 12 and 16 markers?
@@kaidoa1539
12 marker:
3 paragraphs, no intro or conclusion needed
each paragraph should give one reason for the thing stated in the question. for example, if the question was "explain why there were improvements in medical knowledge in the years 1500-1700", your first paragraph could be about Thomas Sydenham or the printing press, for example.
for each paragraph I would structure it like this. clear opening sentence - "one reason for... was..."
then just add to this - include any relevant knowledge you have about this point, and link it back to the question at the end.
eg if I use the earlier example, and I was writing about the printing press, I'd say something like "one reason for improvements in medical knowledge in the years 1500-1700 was the more widespread use of the printing press." then I'd talk about how the printing press allowed information to spread more easily and scientists could build on each others' theories. then I'd finish with a sentence that links my point back to the question - eg "since the printing press allowed scientists to share their findings and disprove old theories, medical knowledge improved greatly in this period."
so clear opening sentence, then include any relevant knowledge, then link back to question. each paragraph does NOT have to be super long.
write 3 of these paragraphs and that's all you need. remember the question will give you two bullet points, I'd recommend using these as the basis of your first 2 paragraphs - you don't HAVE to use the bullet points but they're available to help you.
16 marker:
this will normally be phrased something like "... was the most important reason for... in the years..." and will then ask how far you agree
eg "the role of the church was the most important reason why there was little change in care and treatment 1250-1500. how far do you agree?"
for a 16 marker you need 3 paragraphs again, but if you have time it can also be a good idea to include an intro and conclusion, as it makes your argument seem more well rounded and thought out. each paragraph follows a similar structure to the 12 marker.
it makes sense to start with the thing in the question, so for this example, something to do with the Church. I'd probably go with the fact that the church controlled medical training.
make an opening sentence, include relevant knowledge, link back to question - the same as in the 12 marker.
but for the 16 marker, make sure the final sentence of each paragraph makes a JUDGEMENT. "I can therefore largely / somewhat agree / disagree with the question, because..."
for example with the Church question, I would end my first paragraph like this: "I can therefore largely agree with the question, because the Church's control of medical training held back medical progress during this period."
I hope this all made sense, I was kind of rambling!! if you need me to clarify anything or send example answers just let me know.
also, the best way to get used to the structure of questions is simply to practise! it isn't the most fun form of revision but it's the most useful because it forces you to think back to what you know.
write as many past paper questions as you can, and ask your teacher to mark them. once you get the hang of it you'll soon get into a rhythm and then you'll be able to smash the exams!

Watching this as a Year 10 who is struggling so much and with my mock exams next month... I'm hoping this video helps me bc I have not been doing great since Year 7
Watching this at a level as if I’m actually going to apply this to my revision
Next friday is our first exam guys. Biology, I wish you all the best of luck 🍀🍀. You've got this!!!
I have RE Islam and Christianity papers back to back on Thursday 😢
In year 8 rn seeing the visible fear on everyones faces above me. Dreading this.
(I’m in year eleven rn) don’t worry, enjoy yourself. Year 7-9 is all about having fun and making friends. Don’t worry about exams now, just focus on enjoying secondary school. If you want to feel really prepared, I’d recommend revising a little for all of your exams or just in general. But you don’t have to. Just have fun :) year 8/9 was my favourite year
were dreading coz we didnt see this vid in time... you saw it, watch it back later to remind yourself of the tricks and u will B fine
this is probably the best grade 9 video i have seen, refer back to this when you need to come back at your time.
Too busy playing fortnite rather than reading books is too real💀💀💀

My older sister got all 9. She is very intelligent lol
Trying to get all 6s minimum in science. I’m going to get a grade 9 with the math exam if I put in the work, I know this because I got a Grade 8 in the mock exam. It’s just further maths for me I suppose. And I need to get 7s in English probably so that’s another focus I need to work on. As for history, I’m going to play it how you are doing.
wait we have 2 weeks left FUCK
Just started year 11

Thanks for the motivation , you were very right about the vid having no bs
thank you so much, this is so helpful, i’m in year 10 but i’m going to try these out for my mocks which are probably soon and see what methods work for me

Hi Dennis, what do you think of PMT Flashcards for AQA Biology, Chemistry and Physics? Is a grade 9 attainable? 😊
Great video! This is exactly what I did - past papers and learning from the mistakes I made. I did this for almost every subject and it worked wonders! Good luck!
Thank you, this is actually really reassuring!
damn i’m out here posting roblox aswell while barely getting a pass am i cooked?
If you’re doing GCSE’s then just take a small break and take a break. When you have qualifications and stuff go back full time.
@@EntertainmentCreator2024 i’m really bad at focusing and remembering i’m all good in science and english i just want to pass maths
Guess what apparently next year for my GCSEs for physics they are removing equations ggs
