- The Queen's Beasts series was an amazing release from 2016 - 2021, but...it was also one of those series that you needed to get in on early, or pay the price later. Some of them absolutely skyrocketed like the Red Dragon of Wales, exceeding $200 at one point. Well, some years later, I finally completed the set...at a much greater cost than what they were originally sold for. Was it worth it? We'll talk about that, AND...the case and capsules that I chose to store them in.

Definitely. I enjoyed putting the set together, but I definitely paid premiums for ‘em. Problem is, I bought ONE coin. Then it was on. I’m a completist, by nature…🙄
Nice set, I only have two of these coins, the Greyhound and the Completer that I just acquired. When you showed the capsules I thought that was an awesome price (I just paid $32 for 25 Air-Tites for high relief 2oz coins) but your review convinced me that price isn't everything.
For sure. Only reason I bought those was because they were recommended for the case. Junk.
Great review! I mean the display looks great too bad it’s not very functional. I love the Completer coin in this series, it’s definitely my favorite coin from the Royal Mint. Congrats on completing the set!

Very nice collection! That should continue to increase in value over time, imo. I missed the QB's but started with the Tudor Series.

I bought all of mine. THe griffin, unicorn, 2016 lion, horse, yale, and dog all for 45 dollars a piece. I was buying the basement when no one wanted the stuff. Some like the unicorns I have are selling for nearly 400 dollars a pop on some sites. Crazy my best return has been silver coins both eagles and sovereigns.
It’s crazy what some of the dealers are asking for these! Especially APMEX. I have a few of the Unicorns…I was buying them before I knew I wanted the others in the set.
@@SilverGoldStackAttack right. I loaded a bunch of the yale and chihuahua dog. Honestly thinking of selling a few. ALso loaded alot of 2020 ATB Rona bats for a hundred bucks. Those things have really popped off too

Good thing my stacking plan was load only sovereigns and eagles. Bc my kilo bullion buys are barely up 20 percent. ONLY BUY COINS!!!
I only got the completer, love it! Have it on my shelf with about 20 other coins I love displaying. I have it in a black ring airtite that actually fits it perfect.
The completer is a really cool issue, with all of the Beasts on it. Be careful of those airtites with the black rings. I’ve heard they can possibly tarnish the coin over time. Not 100% on that, though!
That Queens Beast display case is great looking, once I got interested in it, was too late to collect . Started with the Tudor Beast and I am having the same problems with that case and coin holders. Just have to put up with it I guess.
The Tudors are going to be a nice series. I didn’t know they already had a case out for them!
On the 2 oz. capsules, I keep mine in a red cap tube labeled “Creatures and Beasts” that’s not as nice as your display case 😆…but I’m using the Air-Tites that have the black foam insert so they fit snug like last year’s boxer shorts. And I mixed the Queen’s Beasts coins I have with the Canadian Creatures of the North and the 2 oz. Canadian goose. I think I need one or two more to complete the tube.
Hoping the RCM puts out another Creatures of the North coin this year!
got that same collector box! Love it. So much cheaper then the real one with the names written under the coins. That one I have for the tudor beasts. The real box was over $100. I got the capsules on ebay. $85 per coin ouch! Just sent you an email with link to capsules I have

Yeah, he was talking about something else…I remember that line! 🤣🤣🤣 The premiums on these after the fact were definitely a tough pull to swallow, but I did it one piece at a time. Ripped the bandage off slowly…😉🤘

Nice collect and it looks nice. It’s just unfortunate that the capsule don’t fit the best and that they don’t fit in the case the best.

I began stacking a year ago, so I've got three plus the completer. I do like the artist's renditions on the Queen's Beasts coins, so I'll likely fill the set. I'm not sure I like the Tudor Beasts quite as much, but then again they are a carry-on representing the coats-of-arms of Henry VIII and Jane Seymour by a different(original) artist.
The only complete set I have is the 2021 Morgan & Peace Dollars in MS70.
The Tudors are a bit different for sure. The background changed, and the text changed as well. Artwork seems pretty spot-on, but I prefer the QB’s.

on auctions this last month i picked up 11 queens beast 5 oz and 10 oz proofs all ngc graded proof 70 ultra cameo. got them for half of what they bring on ebay. i have not started on the proof kilo's yet. are you doing the tudor beast?
Very nice! And, yup...I'm collecting the Tudor Beasts, but only the bullion issues; not the proofs and whatnot. I generally try to avoid the really collectible stuff, so proofs aren't my game. Generally...heh!

I have this series, I never look at them so I’m gonna have to check them out for spots. They are some good looking coins.
PS- bought my caps from On Fire Guy and they fit perfect. You might wanna replace those crap ones.
Honestly, with the exception of my two complaints, the box does display really well. These are too nice to be hiding away! 😉 But, yeah…the capsules are crap. Already ordered replacements.
Let’s talk about the 2 ounce elephant in the room: what the 🔥ever happened with the Creatures of the North series??? I was looking forward to whatever came after the werewolf 🐺🌖 and then, nothing! ⤵️
Right? RCM just started the “Ice Age” series, and no word on the Creatures. If i understand correctly, the Creatures are now a bi-annual release, so we SHOULD be seeing one this year…

SO THE PROBLEM IS NOT THE BOX
BUT IT'S THE CAPSULES!
It’s both: The cutouts in the case aren’t snug enough to hold the coins/capsules securely, and the capsules don’t stay together when you try to take them out of the case.

Yup! When it was less than a year old, the Red Dragon was selling for insane prices in the secondary. APMEX still sells these for $160 each! (I would never have bought ‘em at that price…$80 was my threshold when I was buying these…just had to be patient!)
