    I can not understand the mentality it would take for someone to want to harm one of these beings, whether for science or profit.

    • @SeanStrife
      @SeanStrife 9 лет назад +72

      Backfromthedeadguy I can. In the name of science, we share 95% of our DNA with Orangutans, so it can help us move forward scientifically and be able to potentially find cures for diseases and what not. Is it perfect? No. Is it a bit disturbing? Yeah. It's unfortunate, but sadly it's a necessary evil.
      As for profit, money is money and some people could use it and will do whatever it takes to get it.

    • @thegreenman4898
      @thegreenman4898 9 лет назад +63

      Backfromthedeadguy stop buying palm oil products and you can help protect them, burning forest for palm plantations is what makes all the orphans.

    • @SeanStrife
      @SeanStrife 9 лет назад +11

      the green man While that would help... it wouldn't completely solve the problem. You don't think these hunters won't pick off these animals just to take the babies and sell them into the pet trade? I mean, that's where most of these orphans come from into these rescue groups: from people taking the babies in as pets.

      Other oil need more land to cultivate 2-3 times larger, but people think that palm oil is the most nature-harming oil ?
      The only thing to do is regulating them not replacing them, it will be more harmful to nature, we can't replace them unless we want to destroy the nature more..

    to those opposing the orangutan babies wear diapers bec "it's not in the wild": When the orangutans get older, most of them will learn to leave or move aside when they want to poop. Not inside the house, not where everybody's in and not in their caretaker's lap. But under a certain age they're just like human babies. You wouldn't want these lovely babysitters got distracted because they have to change their clothes several times or clean the floor.

      She was not trying to scare them, she is 11 so she is really comfortable around them. The babysitters knew she was harmless.

    Imagine being in kindergarten class when some big high school chick playing hooky barges into your classroom, stares you down, grabs your juice box and leaves.
    Otherwise, very cute. It's good to see them getting the care they need.
