Sand Pebbles is my favorite film of his, but his best acting was in Papillon....
"Le Mans": Steve driving a Porsche 917 at 200+ mph.
Nuff said.
The sand pebbles is his best movie. A movie I can rewatch and see something new every time
He had so many hit movies one after another. The King of Cool has never been replaced. The Camera liked him,and he liked the camera.
And we ladies loved him.
The Magnificent Seven was a very radical film for its time. The dialogue was innovative, funny and impressive. It was also the first time he was really noticed in the U.K.
Everyone's my fav. I luv Steve ty for this video
Ur welcome!
My favorite was Bullitt. Best non CGI car chase scene ever.
Lots of car chase are better than Bullitt...
@@Lefab3470 Name one.
@@unclecreepy4324 1971" the burglars" by Henri Verneuil, "Ronin".....
@@Lefab3470 Not bad reminds me of the car chase seen in Violent City with Charles Bronson.
@@unclecreepy4324Yes, but about Bullitt don t make me wrong , I really enjoy the movie , one of the best of McQueen. The car chase is nevertheless tremendous, I enjoy the Frisco of '67 , the mood of the movie, and the cars: Mustang, Charger and the lovely yellow Porsche....
“Nevada Smith” should be on the list....
My first thought too
Exactly
"Love With the Proper Stranger", made me want to be Steve McQueen. He was my role model.
For me, it was "The Getaway". Not only for the action but for Ali McGraw.
@@thomasthomas2418 He was kind of abusive towards her in the movie and maybe in real life. The way he slapped her around in the movie was always upsetting to me and hard to watch, and I'm a guy.
I really liked his performance in "Bullitt."
He was at his most serious as Frank Bullitt. Only twice did Frank let the veil drop, when the nurse brought him a sandwich and when he met his girlfriend at her job and tried to help her with figures from a book. Frank Bullitt is probably the best fictional cop on film, next to Popeye Doyle and Harry Callahan.
My number one is the getaway..Im sure the amount of times I've watched it can definitely shoot a gun.
The Great Escape # 1 , I totally agree
Everyone loves that movie.
Legend.
Not only The Magnificent Seven but also Nevada Smith and Tom Horn were great westerns featuring him.
Love Nevada Smith. Yes, Tom Horn is another good one.
Yep, that’s right.
I was surprised Tom Horn wasn’t on this list… or Nevada Smith.
They’re certainly in my dvd collection.
.....I agree!!....
The first two are a bit light weight , they are very intertaining but still light weight Tom Horn is dark, heavy and I think reflects McQueen's real self at this time of his life and work.
The Getaway is the Texas of my youth, the only flaw is Steve drinks a Coke in a bottle, a real Texan would be drinking a DP, but other than that, it is a trip down nostalgia lane every time.
I didn't drink DP until I was an adult. Too acidic @ the time.
Been a fan since
Wanted dead or Alive
Grew up with him
(As a fan) saw all of his
Movies.
He was the"True Rebel
Withought a cause"
Yes! Josh Randall! I used ti watch that show every time it came on.
"Hell is for Heroes"should also have been included for his acting skills.
I forgot about that one. Thanks for reminding me.
I agree
Not too many know about that film. His acting was superb. Should have had more recognition for much of his work.
I think Mc Queen's greatest acting was on Papillon just in front of The sand pebbles
His role in The Sand Pebbles got him his only Oscar nomination, and I certainly agree with you about Papillon!
junior bonner - one of the best neo westerns/rodeo movies ever. a true american movie made by sam peckinpah. great heartbreaking movie about the last run of a rodeo rider.
Awe,..I love Junior Bonner!
'Nevada Smith' was also a very good revenge movie (It was based on a character in 'The Carpetbaggers')
The scene in where he shot his best friend to prevent his suffering any more torture in wrenched my gut out.
やはりスティーブ・マックイーンと言えばThe Great Escape (大脱走)だろうね。
日本では衛星含めてTV放送で毎年3〜4回は以上は何処かしら放送してるだろう…👍
A man’s man. Every guy wants to be him.
I love Junior Bonner and Tom Horn. Very underrated but awesome movies.
BULLIT #ONE… shared with his immensely popular co star THE MUSTANG ! Still never tire of watching that car chase!
Those stone cold killers were intimidating.
@@abjectt5440 - For sure!
One for the ages, to be sure! I read a comment in another post that says it was the best ever, even ahead of the one in The French Connection, and I can't argue with that.
1 of the best 👌 RIP😢
Taken way too soon, this man is a legend.
Cancer, brother. It's a disease that plays no favorites.
He deserved an Oscar for Pappion.
Totally agree!!!
Hear-Here!!
My top five.Bullitt, The Magnificent Seven, The Thomas Crown Affair , The Getaway and The Great Escape.
The only one I'll pass on is The Getaway. Not a fan of Ali MacGraw.
You'll get no argument from me.😊
The Sand Peebles is amazing.
I. liked him best in "Never So Few" with Frank Sinatra and Gina Lollabrigida. He stole the lead right out from under Sinatra. Great film.
He was and is still The Man
One of my favorite actors l loved him in Nevada Smith , The MafitegentSeven, The Great. The King of Cool RIP
Loved Steve McQueen. Over 60 years ago. Psrt of my psst. My favorite movie is The Magnificent Seven. Gave him his statt. Also Yul Brynner, Charles Bronson, James Coburn, Robert Vaughn. Saw at show. Also love soundtrack.
Always I remember the great escape I was 12 years old. Never forget that film
All of your choices are great, but for me The Sand Pebbles should be Number one, The Magnificent Seven Number Two and Cincinnati Kid Three for their World-Wide Phenomenon. I can still remember as a child that I cried when Watching Steve's character Holman die at the end of The Sand Pebbles. He was also great in Junior Bonner (Directed also by Sam Peckinpah) which is the story of the Love and admiration of a son for his father. He was the Coolest Cat in the sixties.
I've always loved all his movies but one/. The Getaway. Not a big fan of Ali MacGraw.
This list has it right with number 1 being The Great Escape. I knew it would that one or Bullitt.
McQueen always manufactured a rivalry with a actor / character which propelled the narrative
1.The Great Escape
2.Papillon
3.The Magnificent Seven
4.Bullitt
5.The Getaway
6. The Sand Pebbles
7.The Cincinnati Kid
8.The Thomas Crown Affair
9.Tom Horn
10. Love with the Proper Stranger
All his movies Are great including his tv series
My favorite is The Getaway. 2nd is The Thomas Crown Affair.
Remembering Steve McQueen born on March 24, 1930. He was an American actor. His antihero persona, emphasized during the height of the counterculture of the 1960's, made him a top box-office draw for his films of the late 1950's, 1960's and 1970's. He was nicknamed the "King of Cool" and used the alias Harvey Mushman in motor races. - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_McQueen
Everyone knows. :}
@@xScooterAZx Now They Do!
@@jeffj9322 Why did you post the same post three times? :}
I had nothing else better to do! 😁@@xScooterAZx
@@jeffj9322 LOL XD
11. Hell is for Heroes, May He R.I.P.
You have a number of good actors top 10 movies on your channel. Looking forward to seeing top 10 lists for Denzel Washington & Sidney Poitier. Will be watching..
I have never in my life been able to channel surf past Sand Pebbles.
Papillon is best, Getaway is next.
My favorit actor!
@@ohautumn to bad they can't all be nu ber one. The only obe I wasn't that fond of was war lover. I usually like the part he plays but he did the part well he just wasn't a likeable character in it
Great great actor ! 👍👍👍
Steve McQueen'The King of Cool Legend
All time LEGEND!!!!!!
Yes, I agree with your list and remember watching The Great Escape when it first was released. Thank you so very much.
Amazing. Amazing just. The best. Thank you
Pretty tough job, rating Steve McQueen's top 10 films, but you've done a fine job of it.
The Sand Pebbles is by far McQueen's best movie and one of the best adventure films of all time.
It's absolutely McQueen's best film. He had to play a "China Sailor" from the 1920's, which he did perfectly. In the Great Escape, they let him wear the same clothes that he rode dirt bikes in on the weekend. Cool, movie, but The Sand Pebbles is his best, IMO!
Totally agree. I got to see it on the big screen during a Robert Wise retrospective. Great movie and McQueen's best performance.
A Wise comment.
@Bob McRae True, but the secret star of The San Pablo was Dick Crenna, who should have won an Oscar.
quite right. It is a magnificent film.
Steve was my favorite actor. I miss him in movies any more. The new ones are crap!
Diese TOP 10 von Steve McQueen wird aber ganz schön schnell durchgezogen. Ist aber doch sehr informativ, RIP Steve Mc Queen ... See you in heaven !!! 😢😢😢❤😊😊😊
Awesome, thanks for sharing.
Steve McQueen was not appreciated enough by the academy people and he did not get enough phase for his acting ability
The Sand Pebble's / The Great Escape / Hell Is For Hero's / The Magnificent Seven / Tom Horn & Papillon, Were My Favorite's Of His Movie's...
has to be "Great EScape" I'll go no further
Steve McQueen started on TV in Wanted: Dead or Alive. The Sand Pebbles deserves a higher rank as it is his only Academy nomination. And Nevada Smith needs a mention
You missed one of McQueen's largely over looked movies that is a truly great western Tom Horn.
I agree with @Lucky, Nevada Smith was a great movie. Taken from a character in “The Carpetbaggers” written by Harold Robins and played by Alan Ladd in the movie.
児童期と思春期と青年期ではアメリカナイズされたけど、マックインが

アクションスターだったけど、変に背伸びせず(体格を偽る)に
演技した大スターと想ってやまない。
Once, many years ago, I was on a remote Island and I had a friend, we would do some sketchy antics...some really crazy stuff. But before any of these ill advised adventures we would look at each other and ask "Would Steve McQueen do it?".
All his movies are fantastic. Loved just jr bonner which wasn't listed but then if you are only listing 10 some have to be left out. He was the greatest
1. PAPILLON 🖤 2. THE TOWERING INFERNO 🖤 3. THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN 🖤
1. Papillon unquestionably (stunning performance). One of the greatest films of all time not just a McQueen film.
2. Thomas Crown Affair (He was never more cool.)
Great Escape was great but he was not featured that much. Not #1. Maybe 7
No LeMans?
Not only was Steve the king of cool, his acting was at another level, he was a stunt man, a race car driver, a lover of life, a style icon - those crystal blue eyes were as intense as he was. A true legend. My top movie for Steve was Bullitt.
In my opinion Papillion is McQueen best performance, followed by Bullitt.
He Should Got the Oscar for Papillion. May He R.I.P.
I have watched Steve my whole life and I have no idea what the Oscar means. In Papillon, he is magnificent. The scenes in solitary are obviously great, but he does great suttle things in that movie. The scene where he and Hoffman are waiting for a soft job after bribing guards, and the one guards family lost all in counterfeit bonds, . Kilo forty...both of them .. what is Kilo Forty??. And Steve leans over. Great .everybody whatcha that scene again
Also he gives my 2 nd fave performance in The Getaway. Understated .intelligent..and so watchable
Junior Bonner was McQueen's masterpiece!
Loved it
Hej ! He is simply the best !!!!!!!!!!!!
The top 3. "Bullett", "The Cincinnati Kid" and "The Thomas Crown Affair." Steve McQueen's best roles in San Francisco, New Orleans and Boston. (An honorable mention- he was really good in "The Towering Inferno", too, as the no-nonsense, battalion fire chief.)
Nevada Smith and The Hunter for The Sand Pebbles and Thomas Crown Affair. The Blob at Number 10 is okay.
Soldier in the Rain with Jackie Gleason could have made the list. Just a great movie.
Here is a little funny tidbit about Steve’s deal for “The Blob”. They offered Steve $3000.00 OR 10% of the gross. Steve took the “3 grand. His take of the 10% would have been $40,000 ! Ha, live and learn I guess !
Cool trivia: How many VW Beetles are seen during the Bullitt chase?
.................................................................................27
Nice selections. But … where is The Hunter ?
The King of Cool.
I like this actor in NEVADA SMITH from 1966
need to add a few numbers to the Top 1x Greatest
He was in a lot of ensemble films: Great Escape, Magnificent 7, Towering Inferno. I prefer the others: Thomas Crown, Cincinnati Kid, Bullitt.
The blob and the towering inferno were his best movies
Loved him in the blob, and the great escape
❤❤❤Kamera go kochała ❤❤❤Nie musiał nic robić ani mówić a i tak zwracał na siebie uwagę ❤❤❤Stevie był jedyny i niepowtarzalny ❤❤❤
These all great movies Steve is great actor
If you haven't seen the movie The Hell With Heroes starring this icon actor then your missing his best acting ever. And that's the bottom line cause Stone Cold said so (from 976-CREOLEMAN)!
The Blob scared me as a kid.
Without a doubt... On Any Sunday.
"The Great Escape is perhaps one of the best war epic war films of all time." Sorry, but it's not even close. It's a great flick, but it's not in the same class as Paths of Glory, Saving Private Ryan, Platoon, Stalag 17, The Longest Day, Enemy at the Gates, Glory, Go Tell the Spartans, etc... My top favorite McQueen movies are Papillon, The Sand Pebbles and The Getaway (not in any particular order). I also liked his last film The Hunter.
Wonderful .
Steve le meilleur jamais remplacé
Love The Blob. Such a cool movie.
Steve McQueen was an Old OG
Tom Horn Mc Queen's last movie 1980 a little known but excellent western.
Thomas Crown Affair . . . ?
Nevada smith my favourite movie ❤
Two lesser-known movies with great Steve McQueen performances are The War Lover and Hell is for Heroes, both WW2 dramas. McQueen plays a similar misanthropic character in each film, but they are gripping performances.
Hear-Here!!
Le Mans , Love with the Proper Stranger
Yup spot on brilliant 👌🏽
I HAVE ALWAYS LIKED STEVE FROM THE DAY I SAW HIM IN HELL IS FOR HEROES. HE REMAINS MY FAVORITE ACTOR...........
Love with the Proper Stranger with Natalie Wood.
