That engine is former Adirondack scenic. The railroad i volunteer for. Glad to see it still running. I worked my first train on it and I worked on of its last movements on our line. Nice catch!
Interesting chase, too bad the old CPL signals aren't working, loved the Lab playing fetch(I miss mine 😪 RIP Sadie ) nice "eagle eye" spotting the heron, thanks for bringing us along, nice work 👍Thanks
Wow thanks for the great video. I’ve enjoyed that excursion to Hanover Junction a few times. Plus when I was a young buck in my 20’s, I had a girlfriend who lived there. Ran those roads often. Ah great memories!
Excellent content especially with the snow cover. Mileposts, signal masks, plowing snow arriving in Glen Rock, click/clack of the stick rail, first generation of diesel exhaust, bell and horn, all were great! Wayne from Stewartstown
One of the best trains I've been one with this group was the Christmas tree express. They took us up to a beautiful tree farm just before Hanover Junction where we walked around and cut down our second Christmas tree for our house (Our first Christmas was a fake tree). After about two hours and visiting Santa they return us to New Freedom while a truck and trailer deliver our freshly cut trees to our cars just south of the station. They are in the middle of rebuilding the line pass Howard tunnel into York for a full day round trip.
miei amici cari e lontani complimenti per il meraviglioso video e per il filmato del treno escursione storico con delle incantevole carrozze e per il bellissimo strato bianco innevato e per la incantevole stazione un saluto caro vostro amico giuseppe dalla sicilia
Sorry, I cant let people use my videos. It causes too many issues with copyright, other people asking, etc... But I appreciate you asking and thanks for watching! 💜
Thet should seriously consider putting in a siding to turn the loco's around! One a these day that train's gonna take out a car or something goin backwards like that! By the way,is there rails going the other way beyond glen rock towards I-83? I never did know... great video! 👍👍
Those rails leaving New Freedom are the Stewartstown Railroad old interchange (still active on the East portion). One leg of that wye has been removed. Edit: The issue is there isn't sufficient space for a run around at Hanover Junction. If a turntable can be found the long term plan included installation North of the Junction. Edit II: Rumor has it a line went to Foust Distillery from Glen Rock. I saw an old bottle label with poor graphics of what looked like a boxcar along a distillery building. Does anyone have an old Northern Central map? Edit III: They should put a water plug in the Glen Rock block for the # 17 steamer could play the Glen Rock Carollers during the downtime.
@@waynespyker5731 man...they should hook up with Stewartstown...they'd have one nice long scenic railroad! I seen a few spots where a switch siding could be built to turn the loco around. Hope they can figure it out for safety reasons. I like videos of that little railroad...I remember that line stood dormant for years.
This was great! I loved the heron footage in there too. Your details really add a whole new level to the train experience!
Awesome, thank you!
