Some of you have pointed out there's an audio issue that sounds like I have another video playing in the background. As I said at the beginning of the video, Windows screwed up my audio settings and it forced me to redo the recording. I thought I had fixed it, but apparently not, as you can still hear it in the uploaded video (it wasn't nearly that noticeable while i was editing). What (I think) happened what that I had to chance to the USB cable on my camera, which has its own mic in it, and when it reconnected I think Windows reenabled the cam mic, causing the audio from that and my normal mic to play at once. It was really weird too, because a lot of the time, the cam mic audio was notably delayed, which is why I didn't notice it at first and is also why it sounded like something was playing in the background (it was actually my voice being quietly played at a delay). I thought I had fixed the issue, but apparently Windows was like "lol nope" and the issue was still present in the rerecord, just a lot quieter so I didn't notice until you guys pointed it out. As of posting this, I'm pretty sure I've actually disabled the cam mic now, so it shouldn't be present in the next video, but I'll be mindful to make sure just in case Windows decides to undo that again for some reason. The really confusing part was figuring out how OBS was picking up both mics at once, as only my main mic was set up in the OBS input. I think the camera mic audio was coming in along video feed from the camera (which make sense thinking about it now since they're on the same device).
08:49 Bro, you speaking out of my heart! The work, time and gambleing to get one ship on one character is ridiculous. The World Razer was my last gamble ship. Simce then I am only investing in account wide unlocks.
I agree with you on the character bound ships...Account wide is ALWAYS the way to go with ships.....I can understand gear being character bound though....to an extent. I hate Mudds specifically because we have to wait YEARS (not months like it should be...IF WE WAIT ALL). Cost ius annoying too, but getting 3 ships for $150 is slightly pushing it at $50 a ship imo.
Don’t feel bad about saying you are sick of it. We all are. DECA should be providing us with individual account wide unlock tokens at a reasonable price instead of this.
A "TOKEN" to unlock a ship for the whole account when you have already purchased the ship is a fantastic idea and would definitely make STO some money in the process. It only makes sense which is why it probably won't happen. LOL!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I am a huge fan of this game from years gone by, but for a game this dated to be selling individual ships for $100-200 in 2024 is laughable. And that's on top of the exponentially higher cost to obtain premium ships through the loot box system, which (afaik) doesn't even have a pity counter to guarantee you get what you're after from a certain number of boxes. People hate on all sorts of other cash grabby games like the plethora of gacha RPGs out there, but put them side by side and look at what you get per dollar spent and it's embarassing how obscenely overpriced the premium assets in STO are, particularly given how visually bland and dated the assets and the game overall are. I'm sure they're making a profit or they wouldn't keep doing this, but they have far too high an opinion of themselves thinking this game is worth their insane pricing, especially when it's obvious that literally nothing is reinvested into significant improvements or expansions, other than paying a skeleton crew to churn out more low effort cash grab items.
I wish once you get yourself a premium ship they would allow you to buy like a token that unlocks that premium ship for your whole account. Id pay 1500 zen to unlock the premium ship for all my other toons. I look at my account as my toon. And I hate having some characters locked out of a ships good trait just because I can only use it on one toon.
Make a custom Mudd Bundle where you can get 3 choices from a list like the Infinity promo ship choice. Mudd's "Your Choice" bundle. Or a token like SWTOR (The Old Republic) has to make a character unlock item into a full account unlock. I feel like they'd be sitting on a gold mine if they did either of these options.
I’m a big fan of what SWTOR did with their cash shop: you can pay an extra fee to unlock single character items for your whole account. I really don’t see how this is not going to make STO even more money if they take this route…
"This started as a review of 32nd Century Legacy Bundle," *Not interested* "but turned into a rant about Mudd's Market" *Good sir, you have piqued my interest!*
I 110% agree with this rant. As a person who has spent $1,500, $1,000 of which was in the last year, I've ended my economic relationship with this game because not only is it not going to change, I suspect it is going to get worse. To make matters worse, this over a decade old game is one of the most expensive games out today AND it has some of the most subpar servers. At the prices they are charging, they have no excuse for this.
Perhaps a more reasonable model to sell promotional/Lock Box ships could be an example of the Inquiry. Sell their Lock Box/Promotion ship, then follow it up with a lesser expensive Mudds bundle around $60 - $90 with another ship included and upgraded ship stats and/or features later during the year perhaps. I like the way they re-released the Inquiry and I bought both versions. I wouldn’t buy them all as I would be selective about what I purchase however, this could be a much more reasonable approach then trying to sell us the same ship 3 times at outrageous prices with crap we don’t want. Just a thought.
The Kirk and Janeway classes were two 32nd century designs that I actually liked. That said, I don't feel like shelling out even $150 just for those two and something else that I may not even want.
I hear ya bro, you speakin the truth !! Number 1 peeve I have in the game is premium ships in the game not being account wide unlock ! Drives me crazy !
8:57 Kael addressed single-ship account unlocks *years* ago on a Ten Forward Weekly (year-end?) community stream. At the time, he said his superiors told him they’d have to charge more than what players are willing to pay, so it was effectively a “no.” If I can find that clip or where I’d posted it on Twitter/X, I’ll post a link here. Could DECA change that once they’re more fully involved? Perhaps. But all I can tell you is the info I had the last I remember anything being brought up about it officially.
I wish I had gotten the clip of the part where he asked them, "What would you pay for this? *gets responses* Well...we'd have to go higher than that." I was more concerned with the "hard no" part of the stream. This was from November 6th, 2020, when Kael did a Community *Ten Forward Weekly* stream involving Kyuu, Aries, Sphynx, and GrumpyOldNord. www.twitch.tv/crypticstudios/clip/FunInquisitiveNoodleCeilingCat
Given I was just making a 32c captain, my kneejerk reaction was yay. Always wanted a kirk but felt weird spending a campaign in it ...but you really are right in that all these ships are over shadowed by cheaper options (all of which I have). Edit: got it, and actually have enjoyed them
They're literally charging $100 for 3 mediocre ships. I remember when mudd's market was supposed to be loaded with hard to get items that would randomly go on flash sales but after the initial backlash to it, it seems cryptic decided to just put out crappy $300 choice bundles and $600 trash bundles.
I agree this package is cosmetics only. The Kirk is a as I have said a lot recently a bad imitation world razer they are really helping me save by not having decent mudd bundles i do appreciate them helping me save my money
7:30 Concerning the time it takes for a ship to end up in a Mudd's Bundle. Of ships that have been put into Mudd's, the mean average time between original release and Mudd's re-release is just shy of 4 years, and the median is about 3.5 years (I made a spreadsheet tracking that info a few bundles ago). Given these ships are only 3 years old, that's a quicker than average turnaround. Interestingly, the shortest time was just under a year for the Quark Marauder and the longest was the Vonph at 8 years to the day.
I'm still waiting for a Mudd's Bundle, or some other way to get and unlock the Xindi-Primate Ateleth Dreadnought Cruiser on multiple accounts for the Superweapon Ingenuity starship trait.
In a sense I'm quite happy with this bundle. Three more mediocre premium ships crossed off the list in a package which can be safely ignored. Worse would've been if one good option like the Crossfield Refit or the Mirror Warship had been included. More chance that they will both appear in a bundle together in the future. As it is, this is an easy pass. The worst thing about Mudd's bundles for me is just how poor value the fluff items are compared to obtaining them separately. So if you only want one or two of the ships you're left feeling ripped off by choosing the fluff. The principle of bundles is you're buying a lot (and spending a lot of currency) at once, so the individual items are meant to be better value than buying them separately. Cryptic appears to have the strange notion that the opposite should be the case.
It's time for a Mudd's bundle that includes the Crossfield Science Spearhead Refit, Mirror Constitution Warship, and the Atlas Prototype Dreadnought Cruiser, all on account unlock. Even the playing field for everyone.
Omg Janeway and Kirk class yaaaaay! Instabuy! I still need a model of the Kirk class (in my headcanon this was the Enterprise-P, blown up in the Burn).
OK, this might be a stupid question. But with regard to Mudd’s bundles, I’m saving up for one if I’m going to buy one do I want disco Inferno for the D7 ruin of our enemies space trait account unlock or do I want dread through history for the DPRM? I mostly run fire at Will directed energy builds.
Waiting fir when the next mudd bundle would be in ops and thought it was late September but instead the start of October, but 12 weeks after the sol defense bundle though
I, for one, welcome our new Angry Warlord Stu the seventeen hundred and first of his name. All Hail Stu. (insert locker aliens from MIB chanting All Hail Stu) I also agree i would love to be able to get ships across my account.
SWTOR do it relatively well compared to this, of course this isn't the perfect comparison, also, prices are obviously nowhere near what they are here, but various mounts, weapons, armor pieces/sets for transmog, crystal colours (used for changing saber kyber crystal colour and blaster bolt colour) emotes and other things like that can be sold on the GTN (exchange) and can be purchased and used by any character, you can then pay a portion of the items value, which usually means a few hundred cartel coins (maybe £5 at most) to unlock it for your whole account so every character made now and in the future can use it. Of course it adds up substantially when unlocking multiple things but I think that would be a great addition for these kinds of lockbox ships.
They really didn’t learn after the flop of the last bundle with the disco ships in it. They should have done a Cross Refit and/or Mirror Warship in this bundle. I held off using the LB ship packs I have in case this bundle offered the ships I was looking at. 9 months since the last returning Mudd Bundle sale. Cryptic really don’t want most folks money. Or are just praying on Disco fanboys to buy multiple copies of these bundles. Can only hope Deca take note and make things better with the account unlock token etc.
Do you have something playing in the background? Sounds like theres someone or something talking under you really quietly. Either that or i am hearing voices.
those are called subliminal messages, research it edit: not that I think Stu doing it, far from it, just want you folks to be aware bcz many other companies, espec in advertisement are using those.
Basically I treat anything with Mudd's name on it the same way, giving it the proper respect. I power-wash the crap out and burn the floor it was defiling. Mudd's Market is probably the worst part of STO in my opinion.
Still waiting on that World Razer Bundle we all expected to show up this year... it's October now and no World Razer in sight! I just want a good Account Unlocked Galaxy Class! Is that so much to ask?!
You know, as someone who's had to spend somewhat less money on this game lately then in the past for reasons, i would drop actual good money to get some of the single character ship unlocks i have sleeping on an old captain account-wide.
I feel the same way about already owning the ship on one character and wanting to just purchase a token for account unlock. I feel like the way we change this is not to buy into these bundles as much as we want them (and I want the Kirk on account unlock I love this ship) but I’m going to pass on this bundle and use the free event ship Typhoon and save myself $150 after already purchasing the Kirk on the exchange for over $100. I feel burnt out from their cash grab tactics and disrespect to players as a means to an end for their sales. This and they may sell it one more time in a legendary bundle, all the more reason to pass if this happens. So in theory, they can sell you the the same ship 3 times as well. I want an account unlock token also but I feel they value us for paying them as much money as they can rather then us being loyal passionate players of the game who still pay them a lot of money to begin with.
I don't want to yuck people's yum, but I would actively give these ships away if I got them for free. Putting them in Mudd's Market is as baffling as it is (probably) disastrous.
As I said in the video, there's nothing wrong with being into them for Space Barbie reasons. The whole problem I have is that we're getting these in a bundle just after superior/cheaper versions of each ship are already available, and well as the nature of Mudd's Market ship bundles as they currently are.
@@Stu1701 You're taking a much more constructive approach to this, which I appreciate. I also understand that the creators are hamstrung by the designs shown on the show. But I'm an occasional spender, and you could put account unlock DPRM, DOMINO and Universal Designs on these ships and I still wouldn't drop dilithium on them, let alone Zen, based on the atrocious looks alone. It's worrying to me because I know my opinions aren't unique, and it smells of a concerning trend of direct sale failures, which is bad for the game in general.
I think its literally for space barbie. And for those who like to spend money on a ship they can get instantly over spending time on the free and superior ship. Not me, but there are a few
Damn that hurts, I really like the asthetics of the Courage and would have loved to get her, even better if account wide but the other two really don't do it for me. Especially not for 150.
i only bought one mudd's bundle once just for a ship and used the rest for keys, i would just buy the ship upgrades and the keys and sell them to make money lol
You’re right, seriously. I’m at the stage now where I have the ships I want, but as my dry dock spaces fill up my main toon isn’t going to be able to keep up if I want to keep them META as more new ships come in. But am I going to spend 150 dollars plus to get these ships for other toons ? No way, seriously it puts me off the game all the time. Just let me BUY a ship that I want, account unlocked, seriously throw the lock boxes away let me buy a new “premium” ship for $70 on day one account unlocked and I’ll do it, I’m tired of all the useless stuff I you end up with trying to get these ships. But yeah, it’s a business and profit is a thing. But still. Oh wow it’s easy to rant about this, you know what I mean yall 😂
I think mudds is kind of treated like a content drop and if we had 1 generic token or a pic any 3 ships in the game bundle then they couldn't release them as content for the player metrics spike. Meaning maybe there would be less people logging in without those mudds drops spiking the player base. Like its not great that store sales are treated like new content for people to come back to but also like if they got nothing to fill this space maybe it shouldn't change.
I want to collect all the 32c ships, but for sure the price point for actual usability in day to day games. Seeing the breakdown is a eye opener but also heart breaking cause I don't wanna potentially waste more money on mediocre FOMO space barbies😮💨
Is the game really free to play if you want to get anywhere with the game you need good ships and good stuff to build them properly unless you just like a very slow grind
Hearing the price tags of these things, even at 50% off, makes me wonder how many people this game has bankrupted trying to keep up with everything it has to offer.
I kinda like the Kirk for purely space barbie reasons, but I'd not drop any money on it. I'd take one for free, or even be willing to do an event for it (basically free) but that's it. Mudd's bundles rarely interest me. Don't think I've ever bought one afaik
I find confusing that when they have them already rotting for years in the box, WHY do they at least not update them. It should not be that hard to add a slot or change a spec seating.
Sadly no Universal Designs for everybuddy (32nd Century Crossfield). I would want the DPRM ship and the Mirror Worship as well, maybe next year, who knows.
@@sujisuninja7 I must have missed that one then, wasn't there two "More Dread" packs already? I might get that one next time Mudd's packs are on 50% sail.
The only way to get the TOKEN is for people to stop buying Mudds bundles. (I personally never bought one, just saying) As that wont happen just remember you don't actually need more than one character or all the high end stuff for random elites.
brought the janeway class its useless with EC only good thing is the photonic canon used on any ship thats all your buying it for but the photonic canon oonly works facing forward if they had the 32 cen crossfield i jump on it instead of wasting over priced EC ships
They have all these resources and don't just make their own ship is recycle stuff from the shells or years ago it would be nice if they had some newer ship
something i have said for years at this point i have elite ships one one character and badly need them on others, its like they never heard of more for less.. I don't want these ships, i don't want anything out of muds junk store. Let me unlock My lockbox and Lobi ships account wide is it too much to ask?
Nothing wrong with barbie but with the kirk - not kit bashable and even been referenced as a 31st not 32nd century ship - only thing that does is 32nd century cloak They have given way too many duplicate/subpar ships whether locked consoles or broken traits like KTWTD in mudds The 14th having a T3 was a Joke as the Picard bundle was on sale a week before with the exact same T3 Ship in it from 2014 I have bought enough mudds to be stung by a few I wish I could get refunded on but putting that to the side ================================== New IDEA - if muds are here to stay in current format mix it up a bit & do this 1-2 times a year 3 Ships in a mudds bundle with two of which we have no control or prior knowledge of but the 3rd. Give us 10 ship options - we vote 1-2 months in advance of its release on a ship and that goes into the bundle and will more likely guarantee sales as it gives the majority of players what they want. If the selection of 10 ships are terrible as least we get to choose either the least worst functional/useful wise or the best barbie wise.
I have no interest in this bundle. A couple of years ago I got the Kirk & gave it to a Klingon of mine. Same with the Janeway which I gave to a Romulan of mine. I don't think I have the Courage so I'll miss-out. Cryptic has always had the mind-set of selling fewer bigger ticket items instead of more cheaper ticket items. Cryptic has also always liked the chance to sell something to us not once but twice.
I have yet to spend that kind of money (save for the ten year, and even then it was on sale) on this game. I honestly cannot see any reason to do so. Now, I can say I've spent a significant amount over the years, but still. We get charged enough for mediocrity in our daily lives. Why should I pay more in my free time? Sheesh.
Yeah look I don't disagree with you about this matter I just personally don't bother with promo ships beyond the once-yearly free one they've been giving out. They've always struck me as a whale trap. I've spent enough on this game to qualify as a dolphin tho.
These bundles have minimum value for me. It's rare I use the same ships across several characters. I'll yoink consoles and whatnot off other ships but I'll pick one ship for a given dude. Not worth the money for me. Not even mentioning event ships are starting to get into c-store territory. That said, I would buy an account token however. Better value proposition in theory.
Some of you have pointed out there's an audio issue that sounds like I have another video playing in the background. Most definitely. And it shouldn't be too expensive either because lockbox/promo ships already are.

100% Agree, if the refit was part of this bundle I would have picked it up, but looks like I'll be giving this one a miss
putting the good ships in the Mudds pisses me off. they should just put all the lockbox ships in the Cstore.
I've played quite a few MMORPGs, free to play or otherwise, and STO has the most expensive items by far.

Atlas is already in a Mudd's bundle. I also wouldn't call that evening the playing field for everyone, as Mudd's bundles are still very expensive.
They should do what they did a few months ago and put a account wide epic token on an event do that every year and keep the masses happy.

Need your help on progressing the flagship event to get thy t6 ship. Ive done daily + repeat tfo but progress bar using moving past 1100
I've been waiting a few years for the Janeway being able to get bought account wide.
Preach on brother!
Waiting fir when the next mudd bundle would be in ops and thought it was late September but instead the start of October, but 12 weeks after the sol defense bundle though
Maybe they're putting out a caca tier mudds to not take away from the 15th?
I feel like the crossfield refit is being saved an anniversary bundle or something
I, for one, welcome our new Angry Warlord Stu the seventeen hundred and first of his name. All Hail Stu. (insert locker aliens from MIB chanting All Hail Stu)
I also agree i would love to be able to get ships across my account.
ty for the reminder going to fly the Trailblazer
Agreed 100% I would buy an unlock token day one.
Either that or i am hearing voices.
those are called subliminal messages, research it
edit: not that I think Stu doing it, far from it, just want you folks to be aware bcz many other companies, espec in advertisement are using those.
Recording issue, he mentioned Windows BS at the start.
Thought I had the audio issues fixed with this recording. apparently I didn't. gonna have to track that down.
@@outlawedTV88 The Corps is Morher, The Corps is Father
Why didn't they put in the 32nd century crossfield
Lmfao did he realize the typo and repost the video 😂😂😂 honestly at first, I had THOUGHT it was intentional, like a joke of some sort I was missing
Nope, just changed the thumbnail
Hell, cash for trait only account unlock would help and keep the ships "rare".
And they didn't include the crossfire refit...why?
It's probably a top lockbox opener for that trait. Putting it in Mudd's would be a profit loss
They do it with the bundles, but yea, why not unlock it for all characters like some other bundles
PREACH!
I want to collect all the 32c ships, but for sure the price point for actual usability in day to day games. Seeing the breakdown is a eye opener but also heart breaking cause I don't wanna potentially waste more money on mediocre FOMO space barbies😮💨
Its a shame for barbie the Kirk is fixed and not bashable
@@sujisuninja7 it was bashable? I thought it was locked to only look like the kirk?
Is the game really free to play if you want to get anywhere with the game you need good ships and good stuff to build them properly unless you just like a very slow grind
Not once have i ever been tempted by the Mudd's Market due to the high price involved. The fact that most of the packs are crap is an extra negative.
Don't think I've ever bought one afaik
meh. I got to ask why they are pushing STD ships so hard? I mean there are those rumorers that Alax has been fired.
I find confusing that when they have them already rotting for years in the box, WHY do they at least not update them. It should not be that hard to add a slot or change a spec seating.
Only be worth it if it was ALL 32nd centuries ships in a bundle
Sadly no Universal Designs for everybuddy (32nd Century Crossfield). I would want the DPRM ship and the Mirror Worship as well, maybe next year, who knows.
DPRM is in a previous mudds "Mudd's Got More Dread!" but since no retuning sales as good as unobtainable for most players now aw at least.
@@sujisuninja7 I must have missed that one then, wasn't there two "More Dread" packs already? I might get that one next time Mudd's packs are on 50% sail.
5:20
They should really just pick one and go for it.
The Lockboxes or the Mudds Market bundles. They shouldn't have BOTH.
Your audio is still messed up somehow, there is an faint background voice throughout this video, I think its delayed audio from a 2nd source
Or the Parlament hah💯
FYI: there's background talking in your video. not sure if its unrelated to your audio issues.
It is, but I think I have it figured out now.
God forbid the put the Disco 32 refit in the bundle instead.
I only bought a few mudd bundles and only cause I wanted what was in it, too costly even when its on sale. luckily most of the bundles I do not want
Oh it's pretty obvious why they're doing it. $$$
The only way to get the TOKEN is for people to stop buying Mudds bundles. (I personally never bought one, just saying)
As that wont happen just remember you don't actually need more than one character or all the high end stuff for random elites.
brought the janeway class its useless with EC only good thing is the photonic canon used on any ship thats all your buying it for but the photonic canon oonly works facing forward if they had the 32 cen crossfield i jump on it instead of wasting over priced EC ships
On the rant... looks at swtor and laughs at account unlocks ability avaliable years ago
Nothing wrong with barbie but with the kirk - not kit bashable and even been referenced as a 31st not 32nd century ship - only thing that does is 32nd century cloak
They have given way too many duplicate/subpar ships whether locked consoles or broken traits like KTWTD in mudds
The 14th having a T3 was a Joke as the Picard bundle was on sale a week before with the exact same T3 Ship in it from 2014
I have bought enough mudds to be stung by a few I wish I could get refunded on but putting that to the side
==================================
New IDEA - if muds are here to stay in current format mix it up a bit & do this 1-2 times a year
3 Ships in a mudds bundle with two of which we have no control or prior knowledge of but the 3rd.
All of this! 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 I think these ships are ugly af anyway 😂
Great we've got more meda clones let's copy the same build on the Same ships 🙄🤣
I have yet to spend that kind of money (save for the ten year, and even then it was on sale) on this game.
I honestly cannot see any reason to do so.
Now, I can say I've spent a significant amount over the years, but still.
We get charged enough for mediocrity in our daily lives. Why should I pay more in my free time?
Sheesh.
Rant away. Wow. _Only_ 600. I will say _this_ about Mudd's Market. They _REALLY_ play up the fact that it's Harry Mudd.
