Eqbal Ahmad, a amazing intellectual and scholar. I had the opportunity to read about him and watched videos on RUclips about him and him speaking. There is an annual lecture at Hampshire college named after him, all worth watching. Loved your effort to remember him. Thank you.
I like the last question. It is very realistic. I myself thought that I knew too much but I never heard his name. It was comprehensive introduction of a really very big personality.
I have met Eqbal Ahmad only one time at IIT university. He was talking against Viet Nam war. At that time Ayub Khan has just left. Eqbal was the most powerful speaker I have ever heard in my life. Ahmad Kamal E.d.D Retired Biology Professor City Colleges of Chicago
Thanks Pervez Hòodbhoy for providing details of such legend. You are too good & I am surprised by your pure Urdu in conversation. We need such learned people in our society. God bless you
Hey Talha, this is one of the finest podcasts, I have ever listened on Eqbal Ahmed. Moreover, kindly attach the links of the articles mentioned in the podcasts like 'Islam and West'. That seems to be a must read article for muslim youth.
Dear Ali, I have searched the article on the Internet but, as of now, I cannot find it. However, I have just sent an email to Dr. Hoodbhoy requesting the article. I'll get back to you as soon as I receive it. Regards, Talha.
Hello, Ali. The article 'Islam and the West' is actually 'Islam and Politics'. The error is regretted. You can find this article in the book 'The Selected Writings of Eqbal Ahmad'. We have provided it in our Google Drive, the link of which you can find in the description of the video. Have a nice day. Regards, Talha
talha i am keenly watching all of your podcasts with dedication. i am rewatching this podcast it is so thought provoking. i suggest you to invite a well versed person who can tell the knitty gritty of marxist movement in pakistan and south asia, history of communist party of pakistan, and the notorious rawalpindi conspiracy case

Eqbal Ahmad was Irki village of gaya district of Bihar State which is 2.6 km from ore halt Railway station 🚉. The village is having 30 percentage Muslims population which is increased after partition his father was murdered since he was doing politics of Islamisation which led to squabble & led to unfortunate death of his father..
Host: Interesting. But the books I have read (and mentioned during the discussion) say that he was securing the interests of peasants, which infuriated the influential landlords who used to exploit them.
@@TheInteligentsia I am a local boy from gaya Bihar and I know people who are from that village who's grandparents know about Eqbal Ahmad and his family 👪. He was popularly known as Mian ji.
We certainly cannot predict. But I cannot argue with the fact that extremism of any sort is unhealthy for societies. It divides them and leads to conflicts which destroy the chances of citizens' wellbeing. Thank you for sharing your opinion. Regards, Talha
No sir. The US invaded vietnam for the russian inspired government whom was trying to vietnam a socialist republic. The great Iqbal ahmad sahab was trying to stop the war because there were too much human casualties in vietnam.
You are right. This may have been the primary motivation. It is an unfortunate cycle that kickstarted itself when US became a nuclear power. The cycle is this: US - USSR - China - India - Pakistan. All after US reacted to its predecessor.
brother lots of respect india also have many problems but i wana say one thing this is wrong i heard many pakistani say india did not accepted pakistan that is compelete wrong mr bjapai came to lahore to minare pakistan and india develop nucler for china 😄

If you wish to know more about the enormity of the status of Eqbal Ahmed you ought to listen to Edward Said.

The first true liberal and progressive man was the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Today these fakers copy polytheists and unbelievers. Shame.
What do you mean?
You are doing great dear❤️🚩
Thank you, Haider. Stay tuned and spread the word.
Thank you so much.
Pakistan would have been South Korea , had it not declated itself Islamic.

I have one thing to say
India mainly conducted nuclear test because of china

Can you discuss the ideas of Jiddu Krishnamurthy who was against all organised religions ?
